Most people write me off when they see me. They do not know my story. They say I am just an African. They judge me before they get to know me. What they do not know is The pride I have in the blood that runs through my veins; The pride I have in my rich culture and the history of my people; The pride I have in my strong family ties and the deep connection to my community; The pride I have in the African music, African art, and African dance; The pride I have in my name and the meaning behind it. Just as my name has meaning, I too will live my life with meaning. So you think I am nothing? Don’t worry about what I am now, For what I will be, I am gradually becoming. I will raise my head high wherever I go Because of my African pride, And nobody will take that away from me.

Filled with color and clothes. We sell a lot of materials that you can sew in different ways. Typically when there’s an occasion, everyone buys the same material and sees it in different styles!

This material is called “Bamenda traditional regalia”. It is from the city of Bamenda is Cameroon. At least everyone from Cameroon has this article of clothing. It is worn to traditional weddings, baby showers, meetings, parties, and any event you can think of. If you ever see anyone with this on, they're representing 237!!!

Rich in gold. My aunt always sold gold jewelry and its called GL. Every time she would give me some to wear, my friends would always ask where I got it from! There is so much gold and jewelry back home.

This is called Suya. It is a spicy meat skewer which is a popular food item in West Africa. It is traditionally prepared by the Hausa people of northern Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, and Ghana. Suya is generally made with beef strips. I LOVE SUYA ;)
