‪i wanna write a book in third person that’s filled with magic and everyone else is all accustomed to it but the main character was thrown into it at like 17 or 18 and told they are the chosen one and they will save the world and they are like “uh okay this is better than student loans” and just goes with it pretending like they have a single fucking clue on what’s going on and every five seconds they are just screaming “what the fuck” and are pure utter confusion like “are these bitches for real???” ‬
‪and then at the end they are all like “you saved us!!!” and the main character, who just killed the villain just awkwardly laughs like “oh yeah i saved you!” but their internal monologue is just “so THATS the person i was supposed to kill?????” ‬

so maybe it’s because i’ve never really written enough to go back and edit, but i feel like there are certain details of ur character that can’t be naturally placed in the book. like i don’t want to have characters straight up tell everyone this gender orientation or their sexuality, because that stuff isn’t really fluid a lot of them time. it depends on how you set the scene and build up to those moments.
i just have developed a lot of characters and while i would love to add certain details about them in the book, i sometimes think i can’t do it naturally but i also don’t want to add those details outside of the book (you know like that whole jkr situation). maybe my opinion on this will change as i further develop myself as an author. i could find ways around it, but i just don’t want people to accuse me of adding stuff after the book is published when a lot of basic and complex details about my character are created before i even start writing the book.
