Nagisa being a child psychologist was one of my headcanons as well. I always thought that he would’ve studied psychology in university at least (maybe along side his teaching degree) and he would’ve been so cute hanging around lil primary school children and helping them with their issues.

There was this one fic I wrote but couldn’t flesh out which was about how he teaches this kid with undiagnosed dyslexia that’s always been treated like he was stupid and just being the best support system ever. (And I’ve been reading lots of fanfics that deal with Tourette’s syndrome and he would so be that teacher that would 100% stand up for any injustice he sees)

(My mum’s a child psychologist so she would work with autistic children and kids with learning disabilities a lot and I can so see our lil blueberry enjoying that sort of thing)

As you can tell, I too enjoy talking about Shiota Nagisa. (And yes, this is good boi can pack much ocean symbolism)

Any new head canon for Nagisa? Some time ago you published a drawing of nagisa in which you talked about its ocean symbolism, can you tell me more?

HRRMMM new nagisa hcs lets see... OH! ok so i knoww how important it was to the story for him to be a teacher but idk, for some reason i always saw him as a child psychologist?? like idk thats just what i think of when i make timeskip stuff.

NOW ocean things. im gonna try to phrase this in a way that doesnt make me sound completely stupid. ok. the sea is something everyone views as calm and serene, but is also feared by many because of its unpredictability. nagisa is seen as docile and easy-going until he displays his natural talent for assassination. he has this extreme bout of anger, like a storm, that causes him to almost kill a guy. he goes from the gentle sea that his classmates see him as to a raging whirlpool thats capable of so much more than previously shown.

so yeah i think nagisas kinda like the ocean like that. BUT once again, im super bad at analyzing literally anything so that mightve been super hard to read and a little cringe lol. i do like talking abt nagisa tho, so thank u for giving me that chance anon!!!♥️💗💕💗💖

Just thinking once again how ‘Surface Pressure’ from Encanto is such an Isogai song. The fourteen/fifteen year old child has to not only deal with the responsibility of being the leader of his class but also has to look after his younger siblings and his sick mother after the death of his father and has to work so that his family (who he is arguably the head of) doesn’t fall victim to poverty.

All whilst knowing that he and his friends are being discriminated and have a very small chance of graduating and getting into high school. 

And he does that whilst smiling

I can’t believe that in an anime with a talking octopus, several assassins, and a classroom full of multi-color haired protagonists that the most unbelievable thing is the concept that Nagisa and his mom can fix 15 years of maladaptive emotional abuse over night
