; -- “ W-well, it isn’t really . . . living, ” Sora stammered, scratching his cheek. “ It’s more of um . . . a really long sleep over! ”

"Hey, little guy!"

; — “ Angel! ” Chubby arms wrapped around the waist of the silver haired boy, a delighted laugh escaping the younger. “ I missed you so so much! ”

; -- “ B-but you said one! Why can’t I say it too? ”

Someone hurts little Sora and Angel will literally bring down the wrath of heaven on their asses.

; – “ Angel said a bad word. ”

; -- Sora supposed lying wouldn’t be the best course of action, would it? “ I . . . I did,” he finally admitted. “ I found some I got at school, a-and I couldn’t help it! ”

Riku sighed “You’re not in trouble if you have Sora.”

; -- The future? Had Sora somehow traveled to the future? And suddenly, it all hit him at once, and he slowly came to a pause. The neighborhood, it was all painfully familiar. But things were different. That pothole wasn’t there before, and that tree in Mr. Ero’s front yard had been just a small twig last Sora saw!

“ O-oh . . . ” His eyes were wide as his turned his attention to Riku -- His friend. His best friend, all grown up before his eyes. He looked so . . .  so mature . . .

                                           And suddenly, there were tears.

“ I-I don’t know! J-jerk, you grew up without me! ” He seemed too different from his sweet -- secretly, of course -- friend. Yet somehow, he was still Riku. His presence said it all. Sora could trust him, felt safe with him.

                                        Funny, it would be Riku who found him.

Riku had to sigh, just slightly, before letting out a bit of a chuckle; Maybe the ‘smart cookie’ came later, when they got older.

He had to pause in his footsteps to keep the brunet afoot when he stumbled, and small fingers had curled tightly around his own to keep his balance - small and slightly chubby and warm; it was cute,

“This is the future, Sora; however you got here,”

Or maybe he’d gone back in time? He couldn’t quite tell yet; he hadn’t seen anybody else he should know,

“At least I think it is. So naturally the little Riku you know would’ve grown up, right? Besides; how do you think I knew your name?”

'He's my best friend!'

; -- So, he was an old baby sitter? He squinted as he thought back, remembering a few faces belonging to his sitters, yet he couldn’t quite place a name to his face.

                                                 Until he had done it for him.

Sora nearly tripped over his feet, a yelp leaving him as he used the silver haired man’s hand to steady himself. “ H-huh? ” Riku wasn’t a common name around the island, so to hear this man say that . . .

“ You’re name is Riku? That’s so weird . . .  “ The child commented, seeming to not quite get it yet. “ My best friend’s name is Riku, too! ”

The small mention of him being familiar had Riku humming in slight intrigue - Sora was a relatively smart cookie, even if people didn’t give him credit for it - but this time, he was a bit far off.

“…. I guess you could say that,”

He had always been the older of the two, anyway - so he’d pretty much taken it on himself to take care of Sora whenever he could - so maybe, under all technicalities, he had babysat him,

“Maybe a name would help you figure it out.”

They were about to head back to his place, anyway - surely Sora would figure it out by then,

“Riku.”

; -- His wide grin had quickly fallen into a pout, the others words seeming to annoy him. “ H-he’s still taller? ” That seemed to put on a damper on his mood, though Sora quickly bounced back.

“ Aw! ” Well, Sora supposed he was right. He had seen a movie or two about time travel, and each instance had caused major damage. Yes, perhaps it was best this older Sora kept quiet.

                                                But . . . He was so curious!

“ B-but you can tell me little things, right? ” He gushed. “ How old are you? Gosh--your clothes are so weird! ” A giggle left him as Sora inspected his older self.

                                     Suddenly he just couldn’t wait to grow up.

                                                      “ You’re so cool! ”

The… little him… really did seem surprised by all of this - but then again, so was he; what the heck was going on? Had he slipped through time again by accident?

Hmm….

Hands at his cheeks made him blink; they were so small, so warm, it only made him grin, a small chuckle escaping his lips at the questions asked;

“I wish,”

Normally he would’ve huffed at that - but this little encounter just made him too happy,

“Taller than your Riku - but mine’s still waaaay taller.”

Maybe that was an exaggeration - but there was at least half a head of height between them,

“And I can’t really tell you anything ‘bout the future - that’d be breaking the rules, y’know?”

*gently headbutts u in the shoulder to show affection*

; -- “ You know, mister, you look familiar. ” His ocean eyes had been focused on the elder for some time, as if trying to remember where he had met the stranger before. Sora was always rather good with remembering people and names, but there was just . . . A feeling he got from him. A warm, bubbly feeling Sora only got around his closest friends, not strangers.

                                   Then again, he wasn’t a stranger, was he?

                         “ Did you babysit me once? ” He shoots, he misses. Terribly.

Riku had sort of forgotten what Sora had been like as a kid - but this was bringing it all back. He really was cute - and kind, caring.

He could sort of see why their parents gushed on them so much when looking through old albums together.

He made sure to slow his pace as much as he could for the other to keep up, and a small chuckle escaped him at the question;

“Yeah,”

Manners were always good - it was nice to know Sora had them, at least at this age - they sort of… disintegrated, once he got older,

“It is.”

 ; -- “ Eew, no way! Soap doesn’t taste good! ” And he’d know, considering he nearly ate soap shaped like orange slices.

; -- Angel’s praise went a long way, the child doing his best to calm down and smile for the other. He wasn’t known for his frowning, right? 

“ I’m . . . okay, ” Sora said gingerly, offering a small smile in return. “ I miss daddy a lot and stuff, but . . . L-living with Riku isn’t so bad! We play more now, and his mom always makes yummy food! ”

"Hey, little guy!"

; — “ Angel! ” Chubby arms wrapped around the waist of the silver haired boy, a delighted laugh escaping the younger. “ I missed you so so much! ”
