Hello bone beloveds, here's your notice: The Locked Tomb meet-up at Tekko this year is OFFICIAL. On the schedule?? Totally real and legit. Please join us on Friday July 19th at 5pm, at photo spot C. Same time and location as last year. I'll probably be Gideon again but we'll see what happens. If you or any of your buddies are in the fandom, please feel welcome to share this post. The 2nd photo is plain text and way easier to read. I do eyestrain nonsense for the goofs but even I worry it goes too far sometimes... Cosplay welcome but not required! Come on by for a bone high five, badge ribbons, group photos, and whatever else I can cram into the time slot. We only have 15 minutes on the schedule, but the next meet isn't until 6 so...maybe we'll have extra time? 🤔 Perhaps we'll play "draw that bone" or "name the most problematic blorbo". If you have a game or activity you'd like the fandom to do, let me know.

I had so much fun at PA Renaissance Faire this year, thanks to folks at the Shire like Emrys Fleet, the ratcatcher. I attended his hilarious Big Rat Show as Pâté, and got a photo with him afterwards.

For next year (or my next con??), I'll have wanted posters! I just made this tonight. Wish I'd thought of it sooner, but c'est la vie. Thankfully Pâté is such a comfy cosplay. He'll be back again soon. ♥ 📸: @exceptionalpotato

The damn sunglasses are what sold me on wanting to cosplay #GideonNav for sure. Mine are prescription, because my eyes suck. Gideon has also been a huge fitness inspiration. I'm continuing to work on getting and looking stronger. I'm excited for Katsu next year when I'll get to be good ol' Griddle again. Sorry-not-sorry to Harrow and any other haters 🥱 for not having a full face of paint here. I was wearing a mask for safety at the con. The alcohol based makeup had some great staying power, but frankly masks are uncomfy enough without face paint under them. 😝 I might wear Gideon at a Ren Fest or something, too, because GOSH. I was blessed to be surrounded by de Rolos at the Tekko 2022 Critical Role meetup. Everyone was so much fun, but we had a special little shenanigans squad, between the Percy handing out name tags to darling moments like this. 💙 Thank you for making Pâté an honorary de Rolo! 💙🐀

Good morning! Laudna has let me live another day, and I'm about to make it everyone's problem. ♥

This concept was one of my dream shots for cosplaying Pâté. Thank goodness (or Delilah Briarwood? 🤔) for this incredible Laudna at the meet-up who nailed the pose with me. 💖🐀 2nd pic is a close-up of the name tag that one of Percy cosplayers gave me. I cleaned it up to make it readible, but Pâté is officially an honorary de Rolo!! 👑 I got a pic with all the Percy cosplayers, too. Finally, a Pâté de Rolo post to show the boy, including a silly meme I made for The Mood. 🐀

This was one of those costumes I was excited to wear even before I made it. I wasn't sure the final effect would be to my satisfaction, but it was just so important to me to get to scurry around, I had to give it a shot…And I think it worked out! I'm gonna be making more of these kinds of helmets for Halloween this year, so maybe I'll remake the lad to give myself more space inside to include lights in his eye sockets, as I'd originally hoped. 😅

The base for Pâté's head is a papercraft mask, which was patterned by PaperStatue and was so easy to follow, even for me. I hadn't done papercraft in a while, but this was a way better bet than trying to sculpt anything from scratch.

I did paper mache and paper mache clay over that, then smoothed a bunch with joint compound, of all things. If you check out Ultimate Paper Mache on YouTube, you'll see some of the tutorials I followed. 🥳

The zipper pull on my kigu is an engraved pet tag that says Pâté de Rolo on one side and "if found please return to Laudna" on the other. I also made his bow out of…hot dog fleece!! Yes!! My Undertale hot dog fleece lives on in another cosplay. 🌭🌭🌭

I have some more Pâté on the way! Stay tuned…for 🐀💕

I forgot to post this until now, but now that Tekko 2022 is confirmed to be happening here it is!

Construction on Pâté is coming along pretty smoothly. As soon as he's done I'll take some test photos. I'm way too excited to shift into Rat Mode.

If anyone recognizes the middle silhouette, lmk!! I'll be handing out ribbons at the con for that fandom. 👀 The only clue...is 🦴🦴🦴.

Happy 7th anniversary to Critical Role and also Happy St. Patrick's Day to all who celebrate. ☘️ Here's one of my Green Boys in honor of both events! Sorry it's the worst and stinkiest of the many Green Boys I cosplay. 😂 Costume fact corner: I wanted to use 2nd hand parts for this costume, so the vest and shirt are both vintage pieces. The vest in particular is so lovely, it was such a great find. 💕 I need to resize these pants if I wear this glorious disaster again, and you WILL catch me twirling around cons as him again. 💚💚💚 The cloak isn't fancy, but it IS very big and swooshy, and that's what matters to meeee. Heyyy, how about a makeup test! I used an ancient chunk of Snazaroo for the white makeup, and about 8 tons of black eyeshadow for everything else. I'm gonna get fresh makeup (probably oil based paint tbh) and try again in the future, because wowie, being Gideon Nav is incredible.

All done with random shit I had around the house, including the skull.  This is just how I live my life. I found these sunglasses on the ground when I was out for a walk one day. The universe really said, “Go forth and cosplay this beefy gay,” and I said, “ok, babe. ♥“ Gideon: me 📸: @photocaptor
