Utopian/Dystopian Proposals
Dystopian Proposal:
For the dystopian proposal, I plan on doing a series of train cars to portray the dystopia. The purpose of train cars is to capture the emptiness of trains at terminus stations and retired train cars to capture the history relics/remnants left behind for the service they've provided for our transportation system. Some of the train cars will be captured at various terminal stations along the NYC transit system when trains discharge passengers. Some will be captured at the transit museum where there will be various train fleets.
The dystopian effect comes from the dark and erie exposures from; monochromatic, slightly bland colors from inside the train cars. The focus will be in one of each train car to portray the emptiness giving off the dystopian vibe (a homeless person sleeping on the seats of the train can also be a factor of dystopia in the empty train cars series.) Each of the cars will portray a dystopian history series from the past to the present day train cars. The historic empty train cars will provide the feeling of nostalgia and retirement for the history the older train fleets left behind serving New York City Transit throughout the 20th century.
Utopian Proposal:
For the utopian proposal, I plan on capturing the action of straphangers at two train station in New York City. The two busiest stations in New York comprise of Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station (Moynihan Train Hall). Both stations are known for their main sources of train traveling for passengers who travel out of New York to either Upstate, Connecticut, Long Island, New Jersey or vacation to other states. While touristy, the two stations provide wide open space and views to capture the actions of travelers who take Metro-North, Long Island Railroad, New Jersey Transit and Amtrak. Grand Central and Penn Station are also known for being the busiest stations in New York because of the average daily ridership in and out of both stations.
The views from the balconies of the train stations are where the utopian scenes will take place. The series will utilize isolated colors (one of the technical assignments) from both train stations while capturing walking passengers and tourists exploring the station's beautiful aesthetic designs, the mezzanines, and shops at the station that contribute to a utopian scene. Balcony views provide a much better setting because we avoid the huge crowds of people who wait for the next train departures on the main level. The utopian proposal will provide a great opportunity to explore the daily lives of passengers who travel places by train via Grand Central and Penn Station.

Forced Entry Proposals
Proposal 1:
The first proposal will cover the feeling of homesickness. Homesickness is the feeling of missing your foreign area/country/state where your roots originate from. The homesickness series will be comprised of Caribbean props resembling the home countries of either the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica, etc. The composition of the photos will be structured by beach settings considering the Caribbean islands are best known for their tropical settings from the beaches, palm trees and beautiful water. There will also be city settings as well to portray the life of an immigrant adapting to a new environment. Color will mainly focus on the beach and city scape setting and the subjects being utilized in the photographic series. In other words, the sand, the water, the sky and the city surrounding the areas. Angles will include staring out into water, walking along the sand, streets, staring angles
The details of conveying homesickness will be portrayed by my right-hand man (best friend) Jacob. He will be expressing his feelings of missing his roots, Puerto Rico where he originated. Inspired by the Dominican photographer (I forgot her name) utilizing designing techniques to express her roots, my version will comprise my right-hand man staring at his foreign country props, express the feelings of sadness, disappointment, peacefulness, struggling, pride (feeling proud to be Boricua), and walking along the sand of the beach and city to convey homesickness. My best friend will be kneeling on the sand, praying to God, providing a sense of happiness, eyes closed, walking along the beach. He will be standing on shore with the waves from the beach allowing the feeling of the Caribbean islands until the sun goes down for a phenomenal sunset on the beach. Moreover, the city scape setting will show Jacob gandering around the city expressing the struggle of adapting to a new environment. This will contribute to the homesickness. In conclusion, the settings, the movements and expressions will portray the feeling of homesickness.
Proposal 2:
The second proposal will cover the feeling of depression. A dark deep feeling that effects a lot of us during a rough phase in life as we grow older. Depression series will comprise of physical photo props, pendant accessories given by a special family member or friend, or a memoir book of all the things that allow people to feel when they isolated themselves from important people in their lives during this stage of life. A mirror showing themselves of the life choices they want to make and who they really want to be. The feeling of loneliness, anxiety, dark emotions that negatively effect our mental health and well-being. The composition of these photos will comprise of dark settings (night photos) in dark sacred areas, shadow effects with the lighting creating the effect of darkness and despair. Therefore, a monochromatic theme to portray the depression. The feeling of depression may also comprised of a go-to spot where people go to drown their sorrows after negative setbacks have occurred in their lives; in nature, areas in or out of the main city. Some photos will be up-close to capture the negative feelings exposed in the action. The colors will mainly focus on the props and the surrounding areas and the muse monochromatic, or the muse colored and everything else monochromatic to convey the dark emotions in an environment.
The details conveying the feeling of depression will be portray by one of my friends named Elsy, who is enduring a really rough phase involving many barriers from people, the environment negatively affecting their mental health and well being. The setbacks force the person to isolate herself from the important people in their life into a dark phase. Holding the head struggling to cope with loneliness and depression. Tears shedding down the face, staring at the photos or memoir of the important people in their life. My friend Elsy will utilize the movements of gazing out into the open air outdoors and through a window, letting the emotions out, hanging head in the legs with arms covering the hidden feelings while sitting, the feeling of an anxiety attack. An angle aiming at the mirror showing the person on the opposite side to show the expressions of choosing the way they want to live their lives. Overall, stressful emotions and movements to portray the feeling of depression.

A young child (named Ella) volunteers to be a part of the street performance show
One of the street performers pauses the show to ask Ella and informs her and the spectators how the show will continue ensuring the safety of everyone surrounding the space.
The dancers instruct Ella to form a T-pose position, head down to prepare for the stunt
Ella holds her position still while everyone clears up space for the stunt to commence
The street performer (wearing all black with hair in bun) in the far back prepares to commence the stunt with all space cleared up
The street performer runs toward Ella in T-pose, head down position
The stunt was performed successfully with the performer flipping over Ella safely and landing safely on his feet
