Except the rebels were based on terrorists. George Lucas said himself that he based the rebels on Endor after Vietcong. Hell, some of the rebels could be considered terrorists! Saw Gerrera was definitely a terrorist, he’s literally called a terrorist in the shows/movies. Andor could be considered a terrorist.

James is most likely talking about how the empire would have framed it, and again, Lucas did base some of the rebels on terrorists and has called multiple characters terrorists in the universe’s continuity.

The lesbian schoolteacher AU is called "Don't think I'm trying not to learn," and the first two chapters are up on my AO3. It's a modern AU where Cody has her brothers' custody & Obi-Wan has Ahsoka and both of them are working hard to be single parents while juggling teaching jobs where (for once) the job is not a stressor. The last two chapters are supposed to be about Cody & Obi-Wan helping each other with some mid-stakes issues and then wrapping up with a big happy lesbian Brady Bunch ending, but the plot wants to be more dramatic and longer than I really want and I'm having a hard time dragging it back. I do know what the Cody family plotline will be, but I wrote a much bigger and way more soap operatic backstory for Obi-Wan than I want to deal with now, and am trying to remind myself that I can write a semi-open ending without having to solve it all-- or go back and cut out the bits I probably shouldn't have put in in the first place. Plot points to discard include: frenemy Maul, Palpatine being taken down for grooming kids, a way too long bar trivia night with the other teachers vignette that is fun but does not serve the plot, and some kind of definitive emotional climax that is proof to Obi-Wan that her foster parents really did love her.

The neighbor wolves fic is a new story born from a back and forth with @dontbelasagnax about how to smush some of the tropes/topics from @codywancomfort into something fluffy-- it's a fairy tale AU where witch Obi-Wan finds and cares for a baby that appears in an enchanted blackberry hedge planted by Obi-Wan's antisocial new werewolf neighbors along their shared propety line. The problem, of course, is that the baby's a werewolf, which attracts the interest of Obi-Wan's previously very disinterested neighbors, including Cody, the head of his little family pack. Shenanigans and overdone Mother Goose tropes ensue. Lasagna suggested the blackberry hedge magical accidental baby mechanism-- my brain added werewolves.

tired of jedi characters comparing their relationship to their master with a parent-child dynamic. they dont KNOW that dynamic!

give me more jedi comparing a non-jedi's familial relationship to that of an apprentice and a master - at least that would make sense!

jedi going "yeah, an adult who guides and protects you and you're supposed to listen to them? yeah thats a master- oh, your mom is like that too? neat :)"

more jedi not really understanding non-jedi family dynamics. more jedi being horrified at the concept of someone being rejected or mistreated by their parent, because "why did they choose to have you then???"

there's a lot of interesting parallels between master-padawan dynamics and parental/familial dynamics. i just want to see more of the comparison going the other way.

I know most of tumblr is thinking about the USA right now. but fuck the nz government right now too. tomorrow, the treaty principles bill, the 'worst, most comprehensive breach of Te Tiriti in modern times' is being introduced to parliament early, because there were activations planned country wide and the cowards decided to pull it forwards. fuck this government. a friend of mine had to go home early, crying. I've been in shock all day since it came out.
