Adam expected his ex-girlfriend to come back when she saw his life was getting better without her. She was always jealous of the things he accomplished while she didn't do anything to change. Things had been changing since she left. New girlfriend, new job. He just hadn't expected her to be so obvious about it.

Sometimes, he found himself wondering where the girl that broke up with him went. The very one that walked out of his life with a slam of a screen door. The screams and shouts from his front yard that it would take her two seconds to forget him. Now he was left wondering where the girl that would be better off without him went.

She started out by looking up his profile on social media. A notification would pop up on his phone with her username. The same profile picture of her with a fake smile staring back at him. He had meant to block her, but thought it was obvious that they were finished.

This was Miss I Feel Like I Walk On Eggshells around you. The woman constantly told him that there were better men out there than him. When they broke up, she should have felt relieved, not needing to watch his every move. He made posts about little projects he was working on to forget her. She watched every single one. He reached out to her about it, but she ignored him.

Adam decided to pay it no mind after the few messages he sent. She would eventually move on just like he was. Or a need for attention since she didn't have a lot of family and friends. He joked with his drinking buddies that she'd probably show up at their favorite bar. Nothing could have prepared him for that.

After a long week, he decided to go out with some friends and his girlfriend. The work week was long, and a fun night out was needed. Glasses filled with alcohol rested on a round table surrounded by barstools. They were having some fun at the pool table until he saw her.

"Where'd that girl go?" His current girlfriend asked. She knew about the situation.

She was dressed in his favorite outfit on her. She tried to pretend she didn't know him, yet she was staring right at him. Not that he minded it, of course. He couldn't help but chuckle at the situation as she sat herself at the bar.

Throughout the night, Adam saw her make side glances at him from the bar. A couple of times, she flirted with the bartender loudly. He decided not to give her the attention she craved. Instead, he focused on the girl who didn't keep him up at night and wanted him to stay by her side. His ex stormed outside of the bar.

"I am asking myself the same thing, darling."
