the second screenshot is looking up the same exact thing, but with a (australian) vpn on. canadian vpn didn't fix it fyi.

did "pickme" start out describing an actual phenomenon or was it always about making it somehow feminist to call women annoying you reckon?

I have heard some people say it was originally used in contexts to do with race and that it meant something different then (the actual origins are unknown as far as I can tell) but that it was then "misused" and turned into a generic insult against women who don't try to fit gender stereotypes.

I'm not sure if this was the word's actual origin, but I don't think that's entirely relevant to my own posts given that what I'm criticizing is more so the concept and intent behind the term as it is currently used rather than some original meaning.

And the way people use it is this:
