Emergent Literature (Part 3)
Emergent Literature embraces and explores new genres that pushes the boundaries of traditional literature. In this literature, it is dynamic and is constantly evolving as new perspectives emerge  and embrace diversity and represents a wide range of experiences, cultures, and identities. This take various forms, including novels, short stories, and even experimental works that can be accessed through digital platforms. In this literature its ability is to capture and reflect the spirit of the present era, where some of the literature address contemporary issues, challenges societal norms, and offers fresh insights into complexities of our modern world. CHICK LITERATURE THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA by Lauren Weisberger
This 2003 novel of Lauren Weisberger is a great example of chick lit as it features a female protagonist that navigates relationships, career challenges, and personal growth which is Andrea “Andy” Sachs. Andy was initially dreaming of becoming a journalist, but takes the job at Runway hoping it will help her in the future. She works for a powerful and demanding fashion magazine editor, Miranda Priestly, who is a perfectionist and often making Andy’s life incredibly challenging. The novel explores Andrea’s experiences in the fashion industry, there she struggles to balance her work and her personal life, resulting her to have a journey trip down self-discovery. However, in the end she was able to get up off of her feet and made a decision to leave that kind of set-up and challenge for her and decide to continue her journalist dream career.
FLASH FICTION POSSESSIONS by John Smolens
This flash fiction that was created by John Smolens in the 2014 entitles Possessions is a passage that depicts the experience of a widower after the death of his wife. He describes here how his life has changed and how everything felt different afterwards. The widower talks about the presence of his wife’s clothes in the closets and how it filled so many memories and stories along with it. He then decided to donate most of them and kept few sentimental items. In their home, he still traces and feel her presence in unexpected places, from there he expresses willingness to be haunted by his wife’s spirit. He then contemplates the idea of letting go of everything, excepts the stones that his wife had collected from various beaches. He imagines that without these stones, her wife’s presence will be gone, and the house will be silent.
DIGITAL FICTION LEVEL 26 by Anthony E. Zuiker
This thriller novel of Anthony E. Zuiker is categorized as digital function as its unique blend of traditional storytelling and multimedia elements. This book incorporates video components and an engaging online community in its online content. The story follows Steve Dark, an agent for a secret FBI section, as he hunts for the vicious and evasive serial murderer Sqweegel. While chasing down the killer in a race against time, Dark is forced to confront his own dark history. As the death toll climbs, Dark is sucked into a dangerous game of cat and mouse, where he must battle his own demons and learn shocking secrets. Dark must use all of his abilities to outsmart Sqweegel and catch him before it's too late since lives are on the line.
ILLUSTRATED NOVEL THE SECRET GARDEN by Frances Hodgson Burnett
The Secret Garden was first published as a full-length children’s novel in 1911 by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It tells the story of Mary Lennox, a young girl who is sent to live with her uncle in a gloomy mansion on the Yorkshire after her parents’ death. With the help of a robin, Mary finds the door's key in the flowerbed and one day uncovers a secret passageway that leads to the estate's overgrown and neglected garden. Here, she explores around the home and strange garden and discovers unknown secrets and surprises. The story celebrates the magic of youth, the splendor of nature, and the transforming power of friendship and love. Young readers will find pleasure and interest in this book as they read through to the finish because of the accompanying visual drawings that bring the narrative to life.

Diary of a wimpy kid was first published in the year 2007 and is a popular book series that is written by Jeff Kinney, following the misadventures of Greg Heffley. The story is presented in the format of Greg’s diary, documenting his life as a middle high school student. Greg faces various challenges, including dealing with his quirky family, navigating the complexities of friendships, and trying to establish a cool reputation. He often finds himself embarrassing and humorous situations, leading to hilarious and relatable stories for readers. This captivating novel of Ransom Riggs was published in the year 2011 embarks on a journey to discover the truth behind the mysterious past of Jacob Portman’s grandfather. Here he travels to an island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers an abandoned orphanage which is known as Miss Peregrine’s Home. There he met a group of extraordinary children that has peculiar abilities that includes levitation, invisibility, super strength and many more. As Jacob delves into the secrets of this and his own family, he becomes entangled in a battle against dangerous creatures known as Hollowgasts. With the help of the children in the orphanage, which turned into his friends, Jacob learns more about his own peculiar powers which is the ability to see the hollowgasts, which he inherited from his grandfather. Emergent Literature (Part 1)
Emergent literature embraces and explores new forms that challenge traditional literary conventions. This literature embraces variety and represents a wide range of experiences, cultures, and identities. It is dynamic and continually changing as new perspectives arise. These may be found on digital platforms in a variety of formats, including as novels, short stories, and even experimental pieces. Some of the work in this literature addresses modern themes, questions societal conventions, and provides new insights into the complexity of our contemporary world. It has the power to capture and reflect the spirit of the present period. Below are some examples of emerging literary genres; to further understand, you can read the following:
MANGA ATTACK ON TITAN by Hajime Isayama
Attack on Titan is an example of a Japanese manga and is set in a world where humanity is on the brink of extinction due to giant creatures called the Titans. This story was published first in the year 2009 of September and run up until the year of 2021 of April 9 and has 34 volumes. Here the story follows Eren Yeager, and with his friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, as they join the military to fight against the Titans. However, they have discovered that there are deeper mysteries that unravels around the Titans, which includes their origin and the truth about the walls that they have put up to protect humanity. As the series progresses, alliance shift, betrayals occur, and the characters uncover shocking revelations about the history of their world and their own identities. The story explores the themes of survival, freedom, and the moral complexities of war.
TEXT TALK NOVEL VINCE AND KATH by Jenny Ruth Almocera
Vince and Kath is an online romantic series who the characters met through a text message that consists of screenshots from SMS and eventually became a couple. This text talk novel was published by Jenny Ruth Almocera in the year 2016 of January Vince proposes to Kath, but their lives are soon filled with challenges, including Vince being stabbed and suffering from amnesia and his father falls ill. As Kath helped Vince regain his memories, he recovers from his amnesia miraculously and proposes to Kath again promising to make up for what he lost. However, as they prepare for the wedding, Kath’s former suitor and also Vince's best friend James arrives in their lives – there it was revealed that James still has feelings for Kath. There, Vince and James decided to end their friendship and Vince mysteriously disappeared, but Kath finds him and they decided to get married. There the story ends and as their text message conversations as they become husband and wife.
GRAPHIC NOVELS ARCHIE COMICS by John L. Goldwater
Archie comics is a long-running comic book series that revolves around the lives of a group of teenagers in the fictional town of Riverdale. This was created in the year 1941 and was published by John L. Goldwater and artist Bob Montana, in collaboration with writer Vic Bloom. The main character, Archie Andrews, is a typical American teenager who navigates high school, friendships, and romantic relationships. He is often caught in a love triangle between his best friend next door, Betty Cooper and the glamorous and ever so fashionable Veronica Lodge. The series features a diverse cast which includes Jughead Jones, who is known for his love of food, and the intelligent and ambitious Reggie Mantle. Here the stories that is under Archie Comics explores the themes of friendship, romance, and the ups and downs of teenage life in a lighthearted and humorous manner.

Motivation in L2 Learning: the wants and needs in achieving it

For us, learning new things is quite vital. It not only satisfies all of our needs and desires, but it also motivates us to study more about it. Now, in my own experience, learning gave me a positive impact on my life, such as learning a new language for an example. Storytime: I used to love learning all about the English language when I was in primary school. I didn't recognize or realize all about it until Grade 9; afterwards up until now I fell and in love with the language and wanted to learn more about it.
Moreover, unlike some people I know, I didn't find myself struggling with this language. Not to gloat or boast or anything like that, but this increased my self-esteem and confidence. So, in order to understand more, I watched English films and shows, particularly those related to the musical genre. I also enjoy reading books, e-books, and apps such as Wattpad, as well as manga and manhwa. With all of this, I can say that I truly fell in love with the English Language, not because it is one of my topics, but because it provided me with such determination to study it.
"What benefits did I obtain from L2 Learning?" you might wonder now. Well, it has certainly aided me in a number of ways, the most of them are tied to academic or professional aspirations. Reading a lot of books, for example, pushed me to explain and learn more, therefore I did it a lot until it became a pastime. By reading many books and any literature, it clarified my vocabulary and helped me in regards with working on my essays and received good scores and be more motivated again. Through this, my motivation to be able to supply what I want or to feed off my curiosity has shifted and become my motivation to become a better student.
You may be confused as to why I want to learn more about L2 Learning. Well, in conclusion, my motivation is that by learning more about it, it will assist me to become a better student and also to fulfill the demands and satisfaction that I want. I enjoyed learning English as my L2 (second language, formerly a first language), but I believe that learning more about it would benefit me and help me obtain more knowledge that would help me with my studies. Furthermore, this will assist me in having a better grasp on my career; I am in the field of education, with a major in English.
