I think my absolute favorite thing about the Yakuza series is that there is absolutely zero cutscene and gameplay segregation.

Like, in a lot of games, a cutscene leading into a fight will over exaggerate how many enemies you’re going up against, and then the actual fight in gameplay is like fraction of that. Conversely, and way more frustratingly, you’ll do a gameplay segment where you perform expertly, and the cutscene after has your party down on the ground while the villain appears unscathed.

But Yakuza? Make no mistake, that cutscene that showed Kiryu getting ready to solo at least one hundred thugs is going to be followed by some gameplay where you fight at least one hundred thugs, and then the cutscene after is gonna have the bad guy saying I CAN’T BELIEVE KIRYU JUST SOLOED ONE HUNDRED THUGS
