Really all it should take to convince you to support trans people is the fact that there are many, many studies that say "yeah trans people are real and we've found that the best treatment is to just let them transition" like that should really be the end of the argument
I never had to be convinced that trans people were real because I just. learned about that in school. like, it's common knowledge, and we've known it forever. so people arguing about it constantly like it's new territory is so weird to me

-support trans women who have pattern baldness and can’t wear their hair in “feminine” styles.
-support trans women who have sensitive skin and can’t shave every day.
-support trans women who have pigment allergies and can’t wear tons of makeup.
-support trans women who have blood disorders and other health problems that make surgery a preventively high risk.
-also, support trans women who do not have these problems but still do not feel obligated to live up to your cissexist standards of femininity.

what the neurodivergent movement is about:
no matter your brain, you deserve autonomy
no matter your brain, you deserve dignity and respect
the way you function shouldn’t be stigmatised or frowned upon
everyone should be given access to the supports they need
what the neurodivergent movement SHOULD NOT be about:
we’re not disabled, we have different abilities! stop calling us disabled! etc
neurodivergency is always a gift!
uwu we’re all cute and bubbly and wonderful people!! being neurodivergent is so quirky!
we’re not disordered!
the moment you start saying things from that second list, you are excluding a good portion of the neurodivergent community who struggle on a daily basis. you exclude those of us who aren’t gifted, who can’t function well, or who rely on disability support to survive.
you can call yourself whatever you like. just don’t make generalisations about the community that exclude those of us who are sick and tired of being excluded from a hell of a lot already

I would like it if one of the takeaways of this turns out to be “maybe having a high council of decrepit priest-kings who serve for life, cannot be impeached or reelected, and can grant or take away rights to an entire nation at their whim is bad, actually.”

Our thoughts go out to victims of deadly attack at gay bar leading to cancellation of Oslo Pride
We are shocked and heartbroken to hear about the shooting at Oslo’s London Pub, a popular gay bar, that left two people dead and twenty one gravely wounded. The police are treating this as a terrorist attack. Oslo Pride, which was supposed to have taken place today, has been cancelled for safety reasons.
Our hearts go out to the victims and their loved ones.
This news is tough, on all of us in the community, as once again, the scene of this tragedy was a gay club, one of the rare places meant to be a safe space for LGBTQ people, and where they are to be able to enjoy themselves and find some respite from the inequalities and pressures they face in everyday life.
The cancellation of Oslo pride as a result is a bitter pill to swallow - necessary for safety, today, but hopefully a safe Oslo pride can be held in the coming weeks or months in honor of the victims.
If ever anyone thought “pride is not necessary anymore”, this is your answer.
We believe that we should not stop fighting for our safe spaces now out of fear, because it is this very fear and isolation that the attackers seek to create. We are stronger, we find support in our community, and will continue to seek and build that community. We will keep finding each other in our bars, we will keep fighting for our safe space and attend Pride.
If you (or someone close to you) are in need of help and support at this time, here are some resources we put together after the Orlando Pulse shootings - they may not be entirely up to date but it’s a starting point:
LGBTQ+ organisations and help / community centers all around the world
Find safe spaces for you and your fellow LGBTQ+ community members and keep adding to the resource list
Takemehomefromnarnia’s resource masterpost for LGBTQ+ helplines and chats, organisations, safe houses and more
