PAINTING LESSONS.

⭑.ᐟ synopsis: where rafayel is your art teacher for funzies because you wanted to learn how to paint for a competition you volunteered in, but in the end..

⭑.ᐟ a/n: art teacher!rafayel based on his one card iykyk ;33 i swear he's so UGHHHHH also this is based on my experience as a person who draws, but doesn't know how to color or paint in general

just recently, you had volunteered in participating for an art competition that would be held somewhere in linkon city.

of course, to your expectations, you didn't know how to paint. even worse, color. you were unfamiliar with the way how people use colors and how they blend it, one simple color being able to become a variety of them.

lucky for you, you knew just the right guy to go to for something like this.

rafayel.

in just a second, you got up to your feet and went to his studio, praying he would be there to seek out his assistance.

the moment you reached the front gate of the studio, you stepped in and a huge breeze came blowing your way. you shielded yourself, making sure you didn't magically get swept away because of it.

so quickly, you made your way to the front door and pushed it open, stepping inside in an instant before pushing the door shut behind your back.

you walked further in, heading towards the living room, in hopes that you'd spot him sitting on his ladder, painting away on his gigantic canvas like the artist he was.

as you spotted him, a smile crossed your face before you called out to him.

“rafayel, i need your help!” you spoke up, startling the painter a little bit.

he turned his head over to you, his eyes softening at your face that appeared right in front of him. he didn't expect you to come, but he should've. he had always expected your arrival.

a smile crossed his face, his lips parting to say his words.

“y/n? i clearly didn't expect you on a windy day like this. you would've been up there, flying because the wind wanted to steal you from me. anyways, what's up, cutie?” he asked, his sassy voice going through your ears like a bunch of carefully composed music notes.

his words made you chuckle. his sassy attitude was nothing new in your eyes and you somehow just find that amusing now.

you walked closer to him, speaking to him in a gentle tone, “i just joined an art competition, and i need help with painting.”

“oh? the number one hunter needing help with painting from the one and only almighty rafayel?” he playfully boasted, letting out a gentle chuckle at the end and adding,

“you came to the right guy, cutie. no one can teach you as good as me.”

for a guy like him, he sounds so confident, you thought to yourself while shooting a glance at the guy as he got the canvas and easel ready for your first lesson.

he dusted his hands off, turning himself to look at you for a moment before heading off to grab some extra paint from his storage room in case you guys randomly ran out of paint.

you stood there by yourself, staring at the empty canvas before you. your mind simply went blank, when all of a sudden, a voice broke the ringing silence.

“alright, i finally got the extra paint in case we run out of any doing something that might somehow distract us for the time being,” he spoke, placing the bottles of paints on the little coffee table nearby the canvas.

you raised your eyebrow at his words, tilting your head to the side a little, “what exactly do you mean by that?” you asked.

rafayel just stood there and looked at you, his eyelashes fluttering with every blink. both of you eventually stood there silently for a moment before he responded.

“i actually don't know, but it could be something. we might just.. not know what or when it'll happen,” he shrugged, looking clueless. as if he wasn't the one who probably thought about what'll happen first in his head.

you let out a small uncertain chuckle, your eyes darting from the paint back to his face, muttering loud enough with your shoulders lifted, “oookay..?”

soon, you both decided to get to work. rafayel stood right next to you, his palette in his hand while he got the paint ready for you. he then lifted the palette to you, a smile playing on his lips.

“the paint is ready. whaddya wanna paint?” he asked. you glanced at him, then down at the colorful palette, then at the empty canvas. you thought to yourself on what you decided to do before you spoke.

“maybe.. some fishes could be great..? for a start, i mean.”

rafayel raised his eyebrow at your choice, making him chuckle gently, “alright. whatever you say, cutie.”

just like that, you both got to work. he taught you just like he promised, while you enjoyed his lesson a little too much, teasing him a little here and there.

as you two painted away together, he looks over at your art, seeing the lack of skills in them. he tried to stifle a laugh by clearing his throat and speaking afterwards.

“that.. looks really, really great, y/n!.. though you could really use some improvement,” he said, his voice filled with slight resignation as he got back to painting his own fish.

at his words, you raised your eyebrow and darted your eyes at him in offense, asking him curiously, “were you being sarcastic for a second there, rafayel?”

his shoulders immediately lifted in shock, knowing that he had already been caught by his slight sarcasm. he then smiled at you nervously, looking into your eyes.

“what do you mean, cutie..? i wasn't being sarcastic,” he said, trying to hide the fact that he was. but you didn't fall for that, you simply read him like an open book.

i'm not falling for your little tricks this time, you big fish, you thought. you chuckled, shaking your head while rolling your eyes before continuing to paint. “yeah, whatever.”

“i'm being serious, y/n,” he whined softly, pouting at you to make sure you fell for it and went easy on him, but you still kept your guard up, not listening to him as a little payback as the lesson continued.

when you both were just getting to the good part of the lesson, you swiped your index finger across the paint palette, highlighting a part of his cheek in blue, which made him a little startled.

“hey, you're not allowed to do that, you little sneaky thing,” he said with a mocking pout before he did the same to you, a smirk crossing his face instead.

you laughed a little at his gesture, continuing to play around with him. you both messed up with each other's clothes and skin, making sure it was full with paint.

laughter filled the space you both shared at the moment. both your hair and clothes all disheveled, the lesson completely out of mind.

a few minutes later, you both were lying down on the ground together, calming yourselves down from all the fun before realizing that it was really starting to slowly get dark, the sun setting in the distance.

“huh. the sun's setting already?” you pointed out, a shocked look on your face. it was no surprise that rafayel was shocked as well.

“it really seems like it.. see what i told you when i said ‘we'd get distracted’?” he said, turning his head to look at you with a raised eyebrow.

“don't give me that sassy attitude,” you teased, chuckling quietly at him.

just like that, the paint you both used were halfway finished, the canvas left mostly blank, only with a painting of his elegantly painted fish and your little tiny fish right next to his.

as for the lesson? maybe tomorrow.
