Skøefst is the improvising trio of Amanda Schoofs (voice and electronics), Trevor Saint (glockenspiel), and Christopher Burns (electric guitar). Their performances explore raw, noisy, and gritty sounds, placed in both slow-burning, spacious architectures and in furious outpourings of jagged energy.

The fourth and final video from our Cadmium Dust release show on September 10, 2013 at INOVA. Perhaps the most sustained and idiosyncratic investigation of ensemble melody for the evening....

The third video from our Cadmium Dust release concert - the opening of our second set. Note the moment where Trevor gradually disappears from view as he moves to play the resonators underneath the glockenspiel.... Recorded live at INOVA, September 10, 2013.

More video from our Cadmium Dust release show - this is the second half of the first set, beginning from patient exploration of the very live acoustic space, and from relationships between bowed glockenspiel and amp feedback. Recorded live at INOVA, Milwaukee, WI, on September 10, 2013.

Cadmium Dust launch concert
We're releasing our new album, Cadmium Dust, with a concert at the INOVA gallery on Tuesday, September 10. INOVA is a wonderful performance space for Skøefst. The rich, reverberant environment makes it possible to leave bell pitches, guitar tones, and sung phrases hanging delicately in the air, and to paint with layer on layer of bowed glockenspiel and feedback. At the same time, the acoustic is clear enough that we can build up the furious energy that Cadmium Dust explores, and present Skøefst at its most raucous. We are thrilled to be performing at INOVA, and to be launching the new CD at such a terrific and supportive venue - please join us.... Skøefst Cadmium Dust launch Tuesday, September 10, 2013, 7:30 pm INOVA at Kenilworth Square East 2155 N. Prospect Avenue, Milwaukee, WI free admission, all ages

Audio
Pierce is a dynamic track from our forth-coming album, Cadmium Dust, which will be available in CD and digital formats following our September 10, 2013 release concert at the INOVA gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The album presents eight studio improvisations recorded over a day in November 2012. It integrates looping, twisted polyrhythms, obsessive repetition and fragmentation of sung phonemes and syllables, metallic, clattering textures, stretched and distorted tunings, the use of guitar and voice as percussive elements, and explorations of feedback. Each CD comes in a custom-made, hand-sewn and-painted package produced by the band.
