The Silver Bell Ball Theory

9/9/2017 (Before season 3 has come out)

So I have a theory that the Silver Bell Ball is set in the present and is part of an arranged marriage that the Butterflies and the Lucitors made for Star and Tom.

But first, why the present? It could easily have been in the past. But then it wouldn’t explain how Star managed to fly at the end of her dance with Tom in the Silver Bell Ball.

I don’t know about you, but that looks a lot like magic to me. And to do magic, she’d have to use her wand or “dip down”, and since she’s not using her wand, it means she’s dipping down, which she only learnt how to do in season 2. Therefore, the Silver Bell Ball must be set in the present. This still doesn’t explain why the Silver Bell Ball is all part of an arranged marriage between Tom and Star however, so I will cover that below.

Since the general opinion is that all queens should have a king to rule by their side and stuff, it would make sense that her parents would try to find someone suitable for her to marry. Who better than the Lucitors, whom the Butterflies are good friends with?

Star and Tom have already date and broken up however, so it makes no sense for their parents to try setting them up again. Unless… both of their parents didn’t know that they used to date. Think about it. It would make sense that Star and Tom dated in secret, seeing as when Tom appears in the episode “Blood Moon Ball” in season 1, he and Star are only 14. If they’ve already broken up, then that means that they started dating when they were YOUNGER than 14!

I don’t know how many of your parents let you date when you were 14 or younger, but seeing as they are both from royal families, it’s pretty obvious that both families would not be happy about them dating yet. Apart from that, we see in the episode “Camping Trip” that River doesn’t think Star has started dating anyone yet.

This is all very obviously untrue, as we know that she has dated Tom in the past. So if River, Star’s own father doesn’t know about it, then neither does her mother, and that means there’s a very high chance that the Lucitors don’t know about it either.

I understand why you still wouldn’t be convinced, but just think about it, and how this theory fits all the puzzle pieces together. It explains what the Silver Bell Ball is, and why Star and Tom were the only two dancing, it helps to further the romance plot between Star and Marco (I ship Starco and I think it’ll become canon by the end of the show so), it tells us what Tom is doing in season 3 and it explains why the Silver Bell Ball would be set in the present.

One last thing however, and I know it’s probably nothing, but why is Moon using a gold bell when it’s called the Silver Bell Ball?
