Good morning Washington DC. The even we have all been waiting for is upon us! SK8JAM 2014 begins at 12pm today at #Wakefield skatepark.The address is 8100 Braddock Road in Annandale, VA. Admission is $5 per person or $15 per car load, so bring some friends and save

At the last SK8JAM: "Contestants circled around the SK8JAM main stage as the last awards were being handed out. As the last few remaining boards tossed out, something AMAZING happened. The crowd turned when from the Stage, Alan Kayanan shouted "You guys vote" [for the skater that deserves a new board]. Come see what AMAZING things happen this year on May 10th, 2014 at Wakefield Park in Annandale, VA. The park is located off of 495S, near George Mason University, at 8100 Braddock Rd. Gates open at 12:00pm.

SK8JAM is an event geared towards youth activities and support of all that is local. One facet of our local community are those in need of organ and tissue transplants. Dave Morgan runs RecycleLife.org alongside his brother Juan, both brothers have received successful organ transplants with the help, love and support of their community. Now, it is their mission to help others. This video shows a small portion of what organ donation is all about. Visit the RecycleLife.org tent at this year's SK8JAM and say "hi" to Dave and Juan, sign up to be an organ donor and buy a raffle ticket. These guys host so many events in the Northern Virginia area and have touched so many peoples lives. We are lucky to have them here with us today and are proud to have teamed up with them for SK8JAM.

THROWBACK. The very first SK8JAM was on May 19th, 2012. Our good friends at Bad Weather Productions were there to capture the entire event. SK8JAM 2014 is at Wakefield SkatePark in Annandale, Va on May 10th from 12-7pm The Park is located at 8100 Braddock Rd. just off of 495S.

Morning SK8JAMer! Today is the BIG DAY! Herndon's Trailside Park is about to get LOUD!! Boards will be cracking, bands will be CRANKIN!  Gates open at 11am with music from Tribalistix Sound System! Followed by Theycallmepiano,Hasty Jadem, Bo Jankans, Aaron Crawford and The Badcards, AND WHAT ARMY!!! Grab a bite to eat from DC's best food truck of 2013, Rito Loco! Who will be bringing in some friends with some tasty treats! Best Trick Competition starts at 2:30pm and the Bowl Jam is at 4:30pm. Sign-up under the Pavilion.  Raffle prizes will be announced throughout the entire event! Stop by the Recycle Life.org Tent to buy an arms length of tickets!  There will be lots of great local vendors and a live Art Exhibition! Come for a great day of fun and local culture in the park!  We will keep everyone posted about any changes due to weather!

SK8JAM 2013 | Herndon Trailside Park 1022 Crestview dr. Herndon, Va 20170

SK8JAM is an all-day, all-age, all-in Skate Exhibition and Local Music Festival. On May 18th, when the gates open at 11am, local skate companies, apparel companies, food vendors, local bands and local skateboarders will be ascending on Trailside Park in Herndon for the second annual SK8JAM. This year's event is being organized by the newly formed Herndon Entertainment Collective ( HEC ), who are a group of arts conscious business owners and performers. The event starts at 12pm with announcements and a "free skate" session. Live bands begin at 1pm. Skate contests will be held after each musical act. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony for the top skaters of the day. Raffle tickets will be sold all-day by members of the RecycleLife.org team. All raffle prizes were donated by our sponsors and supporters.

Saturday May 18th at 12pm, come spend the afternoon with the best local skaters and the best local bands. Snag a burrito from Rito Loco food truck. Voted DC's best food truck of 2013. Snack on some delectably nutritious energy bars at the HEC pavilion as you catch a live performance from the area's hottest local bands. Admission is free. Skaters can enter to win prizes and swag. Raffle tickets will be sold to our good friends at support RecycleLife.org. So come on out for a great day of music, skating and celebrating life.
