An Open Letter to Jessica: #10YearsWithJessica

Dear Jessica,

Ten years flew by at the blink of an eye, did it not? It’s been a turbulent journey. You’ve gone through a lot, more than anything I will ever have. Needless to say, this little heart of mine belonged to you from the start, Warm Ice Princess.

I remember the first time I saw your name. My friends and I were singing “The Boys” on the school bus, taking turns to do an impression of each member. Just by looking at your name, I chose you. You were the one my third grade self wanted. I guess you could say it was fate.

When I met you face-to-screen, I became even more attached. No one could sing your parts except for me, no one could say anything bad about you to me. It’s true I’ve become a little obsessed with you. To say I have not is a lie. You made me laugh, you made me cry, you touched my heart, and you kept me going.

When you left Girls’ Generation was the saddest moment of my SONE career. I never would’ve imagined it. Nonetheless, as you and the rest of the girls went your separate ways, I still continued on with both of you. You may be sailing on separate ships now but I will forever be the water that keeps them afloat.

Let’s not dwell in the past. Many things have changed since then. I used to be a SONE. Now, I’m also a Golden Star, one of millions who shine above you. I admit. I’m only a dim star, barely visible. I cannot buy your albums digitally or physically. I can only watch your videos on Youtube and occasionally stream your albums on Spotify. However, I hope you know every small contribution I make comes from the bottom of my heart, honest!

Oh! And Jessica… Know this:

I will always love you the same, I will always celebrate your happiness, I will always fly with you to Wonderland, To your World of Dreams on this golden sky.

I will gladly take the chance to dance on the moon with you, I will gladly be your Dear Diary, I will gladly break the walls down so we can leave this big mini world.

I’ve fallen crazy in love with you, I will today, tonight, and forever, Beautiful Jessi.

If you ever read this, I hope you know we will pass this summer storm together. With your beautiful mind, whether it be a Saturday night, a starry night, spring, summer, autumn, winter, or whenever, I Love U.
