( I have been thinking about how to say this for the past few days, so bear with me. I’m a little tired, and about to travel this weekend, but I feel this needs to be said. Thank you, Balmung. More specifically, thank you everyone that has made our open clinic nights such a delightful success so far, it has been the biggest encouragement I could have asked for to keep up with all of this. Staff - I adore all of you, and I couldn’t ask for better FCmates. It is a joy to rp with you all, and thank you for trusting me (and my well-meaning duskie) to try and steer this thing.  I love watching each of your characters grow, develop, and come together as this amazingly piecemeal but delightfully messy family we’re building.   I can’t wait to start our storylines in earnest. Visitors / Patients / Volunteers / Friends - I’d be here all night if I stopped to list you all. But your patronage, your help & support and most importantly, your friendship… it means so much to me, and to all of us here.Each and every one of you. Thank you for letting us play even a small part in your character’s lives & storylines.  I hope your interactions with us are as rewarding and positive as our interactions are with all of you are. I feel so lucky, that every other week, that we get a glimpse into what so many other truly creative and fantastic people are doing, and what sorts of stories you all are telling. How amazing and unique each of your characters are. In the next couple weeks, we’re going to make a mad dash for a bigger venue for the clinic, finish our social media presence, and open recruitment.  In the next few months, I hope to have embarked us on our first major storyline in over a year.  And to host more events for the community. Goblet, Ward 9, Plot 36 _________________________________________________________ Doman Tea Set – From Golden Fox Trade House.  Dated back to mid-last century, this exquisite Hingan egg shell porcelain tea set is decorated with a hand painted scene of a village in spring at the foot of a mountain. A delicate tapestry of gold trim accents each piece of the tea set. The tea set contains a large pedestal teapot, pedestal sugar and pedestal creamer, and three cups and saucers. Each piece of this tea set is in fine condition with no damage. The inside of the tea cups is pearlised. In red, a coiling sky serpent dances.  Smoke billows from her nostrils in spirals of vapour, a mist that veils the detailed terrain of the Yanxia countryside beyond. Her talons stretch forward in her flight as her sleek body tapers into looping, elegant curls. Along each sleeve are a flurry of cherry blossom petals, swirling across the front of the kimono.  Laid neatly atop the folded kimono sits a simple, lilac obi; complimented with a beaded obijime in a deep, chartreuse. Starting Bid:  20,000 gil Ornate, Antiquated Key – From Khokanchin Mercantile.  Hours of painstaking work has been put in to cleaning the dust and grime from the ornate details of this peculiar key.  The scene carved into its silver surface lends a clue to its origins, depicting a sumptuous feast with imagery associated with the story of a noble from Sil’dih during the end of its reign.  Called only by “Lord Luca,” as his full name has been lost and eroded by time, documents reveal he was known for his lavish feasts and balls…and a few unsavory rumors that inspired many a ghost story.  This key may open something of importance where ruins of his hall were recently uncovered.  Truth to the rumors of his riches, perhaps?  Or proof to the stories that were told?  Either way, a valuable discovery may be made, either for one’s own personal gain or academic, but be warned, this bid is for the stout of heart.  The winning bid will gain ownership of the key and the aid of Khokanchin Mercantile in their expedition. Starting Bid:  75,000 gil Aetherial Locket – From the Silvernail Shoppe.  Restored by Lady Silvernail with a skilled blend of alchemy and smithing, this silver locket looks as new, with ornate and vintage details now polished into glittering definition, all without diminishing its rather unique property.  The locket’s confines sit empty, awaiting new memories.  It bears a round and reflective shape and surface, like the moon, bordered in a thin frame of wispy clouds and newly fitted with a star sapphire in its center.  The origins of this necklace are unclear.  It was found near the Palace of the Dead, suggesting its origins may lay within Gelmorra, but some say the shape indicates it may have once belonged to an old Keeper of the Moon tribe.  Regardless of origin, the necklace contains within its material mana from a warrior of ages past, now long gone but not forgotten.  What was their story?  Will the wearer’s own be strengthened by the past tied to the necklace?  The winning bid may choose to have the locket customized with a new stone or inscription. Open Clinic Night - 10/4/17~

Ashen Enclave Open Clinic Night Wednesday, October 4th,  9PM - 11PM EDT (Balmung)

Location: The Goblet - Ward 7 - Plot 6

With Harvest season on the horizon, we will have special tinctures and tonics available, provided by our alchemists, to help with the onset of hayfever, allergies, and other ogre pumpkin-spice related catastrophes! (We’ve been assured that only half or so of them are faerie-apple cider flavored.) Staff will be on hand treat any and all walk-in medical cases and matters pertaining to personal wellness, as well as booking future appointments for more in depth exams, counseling, and spa treatments. We will also have folks available to offer a tour of the facilities, and an open kitchen for those in need of a hot meal and a moment’s respite! We are first and foremost a charitable organization; no one will ever be turned away based on an inability to pay. Donations of gil, supplies, or time are always welcome, but not required.

( This event is open to characters of all shades, stripes, and alignments.  The clinic aims to help all Eorzeans, regardless of circumstance or affiliation, and serves as neutral ground for those on the premises.  Our staff will ask ‘what’ happened in order to provide the most accurate care possible, but will exercise discretion and refrain from prying into the ‘how’ and ‘why’ should it be so desired. Medicinal Herb Preparation Terms

Most ancient healers used plant-based medicinals in the form of teas, infusions, decoctions, poultices, or plasters, All were simple to make.

Teas - generally made by dropping an ounce of dried herbs into a pint of boiled, hot water for a minute or two, then straining the liquid and drinking it as needed

Infusions - made by dropping an ounce of dried herbs into a pint of boiled water, then steeping the herbs for at least 15 minutes before straining

Decoctions - made by dropping an ounce of dried herbs into a pint of water while it was boiling - and then leaving it to gently simmer for at least 30 minutes

Poultices - made from dried or powdered herbs mixed with water, with a healthy scoop of oatmeal or flour to bind it all together. Generally, two ounces of herbs were mixed with about twenty ounces of the binder and enough water to make a paste. The mixture was then placed directly on the skin and covered with a warm cloth or bandage

Plasters - mixed exactly the same way as a poultice, but because they frequently called for herbs that could irritate the skin, they were folded into a cloth before they were placed on the body

;A; faith in humanity being restored one little thing at a time

FFXIV Producer and Director Yoshi-P here. It warms our hearts to see such an outpouring of support for those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma in recent days. The thoughts and prayers of all of us on the FFXIV development and operations teams are with the people of Texas, Florida, the Caribbean, and the other areas affected by these terrible storms. Many of you have requested that we suspend estate auto-demolition, as players in these regions may have difficulty logging in at this time. The team understands this, and so we have decided to suspend auto-demolition temporarily. Commencement of Auto-Demolition Grace Period: September 15, 2017 Duration: 14 days (tentative) At the end of this two week period, we will determine whether or not it is necessary to extend the grace period, and inform you all of our decision. Furthermore, as more detailed information regarding the situation on the ground in these regions becomes available, we will continue to discuss internally what other ways we may be able to ease the burden on those affected. We pray that the recovery efforts go smoothly, and that those of you who were affected will be able to join us again in Eorzea soon.
