Know your Candidates
We all aim for a better futures, hence it's important for every voters to know the candidates they're willing to vote and not just be blinded with the platforms they're saying during their speech. We must be wise enough with our votes- as we all know that every single vote counts. So if we want the best, we must vote the best and most qualified candidate.
According to CTV, a good quality a candidate could have are the following; Someone who has the desire to win, someone who is servant- hearted who can put other's needs first before the needs of themselves, someone who's hardworking, someone who can stand with their words and someone who knows when to talk and when to listen, someone who has a political experience, and lastly someone who is knowledgeable enough with the issues going around the country and has a clear plan on how to handle them.
We must always remember how to vote wisely and know the candidates well. Also, we must never be blinded by the money and power of the candidates when they offer vote buying. As what Enriquez (2019) stated, Before engaging in vote buying, we must consider the consequences for our country and our families. We must vote wisely in the upcoming election to avoid accidents and disasters. We can show our love for our country by voting wisely. Our votes are the most valuable and powerful tool in our democratic and sovereign society. We must defend this right for the sake of the common good and the future of our country.

Every Single Vote Counts
Every after 6 years and on the 30th day of June new president in the Philippines changes. Every after 6 years Filipinos are always hoping for the best- they always hold on to that hope that Philippines would be a better place to live in. However, buying of votes still exist and it is so sickening that during the 2022 election there were still issues regarding vote buying.
Based on a survey on elections in the Philippines in 2022, roughly 30% of participants replied that they had not encountered vote buying, yet are convinced that there would cases based on prior experiences. Vote buying is an approach used by politicians to gain voter support ahead of an election by providing money or other incentives. Approximately 65.7 million Filipinos were recorded as eligible voters that year, with an additional 1.7 million overseas voters.
Its been years and yet still there are still voters who don't use the power of their vote wisely- they don't even realize how that one vote will affect the lives of every Filipino in 6 years. Hence, it's important for every voters to learn the importance of their vote. From the study of Hicken et al in 2015, the findings suggest that simple interventions, such as asking voters to promise not to sell their vote; can help reduce vote-selling in low-stakes elections with small payoffs for votes. These findings also suggest that telling voters that they can accept money but must still vote their conscience may be counterproductive.
