For everyone’s information:
The plan for the 17th, when the adult content ban comes in, is to protest.
To do that, we are making as much noise either side of the 17th as possible, and using the site as normal.
On the 17th, dead silence.
People are saying log off but what they really mean is dont open the site or the app.
But, on the 17th make as much noise as possible on every other platform. Tweet about it and post on facebook and instagram and everywhere else.
What this does is causes a massive dip in ad revenue for one single day. That does not make staff think ‘oh everyone’s gone let’s shut down.’ What it actually makes them think is ‘oh shit people aren’t happy and if people don’t keep using our site we’re out of money and out of jobs.’
A boycott reminds a company that the users (consumers) have the power to make their site (business) worthless with one single coordinated decision.
If you want to join in, here’s what to do:
Do:
Close all open instances of the app and site on all your devices before the 17th
Make posts before and after the 17th on tumblr and other platforms, talking about why this ban is bad
Make posts on other sites during the 17th. Flood the official tumblr staff twitter and facebook with your anger and your opinion
Come back on the 18th and check in
Don’t:
Delete the app from your phone (this doesn’t affect their revenue and since it’s off the store at the moment it’ll be hard to get back)
Delete your account. I mean you can if you want to, but if you keep your account and don’t use it you’re saying to staff that there’s still time to save it. If you delete it’s hard work to come back.
Open the app or website (including specific blogs)
Make any posts (turn down/off your queue and make sure nothing is scheduled)
Go quiet elsewhere. Make it clear that this is just about tumblr, not a mass move away from all social media.
Remember: the execs don’t care about anything but money. Shutting down the site means there’s $0 further income from it. That’s their last possible course of action. If we make it clear we’re not happy, they’ll have to do something or we can do more and more until it becomes too expensive.
Protests take commitment. They’re a defiant action against a business that is doing something wrong. They will try to scare you into not participating, because they’re scared. We hold all the power here, sometimes the execs just need to be reminded of that.

Ok so this post is extremely long and I put it all together for my blogs Feeling sad page but as I don’t have a huge amount of followers I realize so many people are not seeing this information so I’m posting it here too!
alternatives without harming yourself:
holding/squeezing ice.
splashing your face with water.
getting a rubber band and snapping it against your skin (this could hurt, though it’s better than other ways that people usually choose to self-harm).
take a hot shower or bath.
eat something sour. it will take your mind of the urge. (lemon, sour lollies)
massage where you want to self-harm.
get a red pen or red paint and draw/paint over where you usually self-harm.
remind yourself as to why you shouldn’t do it. (scars, harms organs, leave memories etc…)
describe what you are feeling. (is the urge/pain in your chest, fists, legs, arms, head).
killing yourself will not help. it is not a solution.
you have your whole life ahead of you. you have so many more years that you can accomplish things in. for example;
having a family.
getting married.
to watch the sun rise.
to watch the sun set.
to save someone else’s life.
finish school.
get your dream job.
to laugh.
to smile.
to go camping.
travel to new places.
to wake up every morning to the person you love.
friends.
family.
to keep that promise you made.
to accomplish a goal.
to meet your idol.
to listen to new music.
theme parks.
video games.
chocolate.
to be able to look back and say “i made it”.
what you’re going through is temporary.
in case you need to hear this:
you are loved.
you are wanted.
you are needed.
you are beautiful.
you are handsome.
you are important.
you are not alone.
you are okay.
you are strong.
you are worth it.
you are smart.
you are not a failure.
you are useful.
you are going to be okay.

hiya rivkah, i hope your semester has been well so far! i’m wondering if you have any advice for studying anthropology? i’m taking one social anthro class as an elective this semester, and needless to say, it doesn’t seem to be my thing.
hey honey! sorry for the late reply; I’ve been studying formidterms and drowning in anthro readings myself. here are my strategies forworking on anthro! most of my work is lecture notes and readings, so that’swhat I’ll be writing about mostly. but please send another ask if it isn’thelpful!
·       do not get behind on the readings
This is pretty obvious, I suppose, but you should still adhereto it. They only keep piling up. If you can get ahead, great, but at the veryleast stay on schedule.
·  do not start a huge reading the night before
Again, “seemingly obvious,” but it’s pretty easy to tellyourself that you can totally read something in one sitting. You can’t. Youwill die. You will either get no sleep or choose sleep and be unable to finishit. If you are given multiple days to do it, break it up. If you aren’t, do asection every couple of hours.
·  print out large readings and annotate
All of my readings are online PDFs and eventually my poor eyesgot tired of reading 40 page readings and my hands got tired of writing notesabout them. I have a 15 count of highlighters but I tend to use between 5 and10 colors regularly for long readings. Don’t highlight everything, but bespecific about what you’re looking for. Sometimes you don’t know, but skimminga page before you really read can help you assess the themes. You do not wantto miss details that might be on your exams. And it’ll make reviewing, notetaking, and studying easier later. Plus, it feels more material when you canphysically set aside 20/40 completed and color-noted pages.
·  take specific notes
…but also don’t write down things that you alreadytotally know or that are redundant.
Choose abbreviation systems that work for you. It’s incrediblyimportant that, whatever you use, you stick to so you can look back and knowwhat you said. I tend to lose vowels within the word, but I make sure thereisn’t the same abbreviation for different words.
Examples: anthropologist = anthplgst , anthropology = anth orAN, ethnocentrism = ethncntsm, entrocentric = entrcntrc, capitalist = captlst, capitalism = captlm
·   use office hours
I haven’t used them yet myself because I haven’t had any problems with comprehension–just keeping track of all the readings enough to write about them. But seriously, if there are things you don’t understand, schedule an appointment with your professor or go to office hours. Don’t suffer in silence. Most really want you to succeed.
If they’re not helpful, try emailing other professors in the subject if you can. I’m currently seeking help from an anthropology professor for advising on classes since my major adviser told me “you’re a freshman, don’t worry about grad school yet” and I was like “…no.”
·   take super good/specific lecture notes
I normally take them on paper because it helps my memory better, but I also take them on the laptop then copy them at home.
Seriously, if you have specific notes, then summarize when making yourself study guides like I do, it’ll help your comprehension a lot more.
Don’t be afraid to write down questions and then ask them/get answers later. At least you’ll have a written record of what you’re struggling with.
·   if they offer it, take all the extra credit you can.
It may help you with just the grade or it may be related to the course!
This is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, but this is how I’m keeping a good grade right now! I hope some of this could be helpful, but if it’s not, don’t be afraid to write me another ask, or several. Best of luck, and you’re welcome to contact me for help studying!

Then what's the difference with being pan? I've read a lot about it but I still don't get the difference
Wait if you are bi and you like a 3rd or 4th gender doesn’t that make you Pan? Just curious and want to get my facts straight. Thank you :)
Bi means attraction to two or more genders

I'm native Spanish speaker, we actually don't have a word for "binder" but I usually say "la faja" or just "el binder"
Hope it helps!
hey! do you know how is binder (like chest binder) in Spanish?
I believe that would be el vendaje (de pecho) “(chest) binder”. El vendaje comes from vendar “to bandage / to wrap (in bandages)” or la venda “a bandage”, so el vendaje is “binding” or “binder” in that way.
