sakura haruka was walking down the streets of furin on a saturday afternoon, deciding whether to stop by cafe pothos or go somewhere else for lunch. caught in the middle of a dilemma — whether to try something new or stick to somewhere familiar — he didn’t realise he’d paused in the middle of the pavement, eyes closed, a finger resting on his chin, letting out heavy sighs, until he felt a tap on his shoulder.

“huh?” he blinked, confused. who are you? he thought. did he know you? had he saved you before? he didn’t think he’d seen you around, though.

“hi! i just moved here,” you said cheerfully. “you’re pretty cute, mind showing me around?”

“h—hah?” his voice cracked so badly it jumped three octaves, his face flushing bright red. “w—what are y—you t—talking about? do… do you even know what you’re saying?!”

you couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction. “sorry, was i too straightforward?”

“damn right you are!” he snapped, still flustered, while you stood there with that smile — the kind that made his heartbeat echo in his ears. what the hell? what the hell was he feeling?

“so… you gonna keep staring or will you show me around?” you teased.

you could swear you saw steam rising from his ears before he walked straight past you. “hell no!”

“aww, really?” you sighed in mock disappointment. “i was hoping i could grab lunch with someone who could tell me about this town.”

a pause.

“…come on, let’s go.”

“huh?”

he stopped and turned back to you. “i said let’s go! h—hurry up before i change my mind again!”

── ✦ suo hayato .

it was just another ordinary evening for suo hayato, stepping outside to take a breath of fresh air. it was peaceful — until the door of the cafe beside him flew open and you came crashing right into him.

“ow!” you groaned, holding the bridge of your nose and stumbling backwards.

instinctively, he caught you by the shoulders to steady you. “are you okay?” he asked with a warm smile.

instead of replying, you stared at him like you’d just seen god himself.

“woah… you’re really cute,” you blurted, your expression dazed as if you weren’t even aware of what you’d said.

he paused for a moment, caught off guard. then his confused look melted into an even bigger smile than before.

“why, thank you,” he said, which snapped you back to reality and sent a wave of embarrassment over you.

“you’re pretty. really pretty,” he added, smiling like he was prince charming. no, he’s definitely prince charming.

and just like that, you ended up blushing even harder than you already were — which was surprising, considering you’d been the one to start it first.

── ✦ nirei akihiko .

nirei akihiko was standing alone outside cafe pothos, alternating between looking around and checking his phone. he was halfway through typing a text when you approached.

“hi there!” you greeted cheerfully.

“oh, hello! can i help you?” he replied, matching your sunny tone.

“yeah! could i maybe have your number? i thought you were really cute,” you said, glancing down to unlock your phone. when you looked back up, “uh… hello?”

no answer. he was staring into space, completely zoned out, before blinking rapidly as if rebooting.

“impossible, you couldn’t possibly be talking about me,” he mumbled, fingers twitching like he was doing mental calculations. “you must be talking to someone else… but there’s no one around me?”

he turned left, right, even peeked behind him — still no one. there was only one possible conclusion.

“wait, me???” he asked in disbelief — at himself, no less. “actually me??”

you burst out laughing at his adorable reaction. “yes, i think you’re cute.”

you barely had time to finish the sentence before his entire face turned the colour of a ripe tomato.

he started stammering uncontrollably, rambling about how cute you were instead. good to know you were both on the same page.

and from a distance, neither of you noticed suo and sakura watching, quietly chuckling as suo recorded him on his phone.

hiii guys i’m back from my break with both good news and bad news 🥹

bad news: i start university in about 2 weeks which means i’ll be super busy preparing for it and when uni actually starts, i’ll be even busier 💔

good news: i don’t plan on quitting (for now)! writing has always been my passion and i’m really attached to this blog + i’ve met so many amazing people here 🫶🏻 so unless something unexpected happens or if my schedule is too packed to keep up with, i might quit/consider quitting so no promises 😔

+ what to expect:

uni + work = no more daily updates, maybe not even weekly. i’d estimate about 2-4 posts a month (or less).

i’ll mostly be posting on the weekends given that i have time to write, if not then unfortunately no posts at all…

i’ll still be completing requests + event requests, but at my own pace (ik my inbox is overflowing rn sorry 😭).

ongoing series updates:

wanted — itoshi sae: only one chapter + a sequel left, but i’ve been struggling with the final chapter. i keep scrapping it bc i’m not happy with the outcome, but i will finish this series! (so sorry for the delay)

pixel perfect — nagi seishiro: this series will return soon! but updates will be irregular. i’ll be reopening the taglist for anyone interested!

thorns & roses — itoshi rin: archived for now. i started it when i was still inexperienced and i don’t really like the pacing of it. maybe i’ll bring it back one day, but for now it’s going back into the shelves.
