Note
Hello, Mr. Gaiman! I hope you're doing well. I'm curious, how many words would you say you write on a good/average/bad day? I've recently started writing but I've spent what seems to be multiple hours writing a measly 1k words, and it's hard not to feel like it's a complete waste of time, especially if the result isn't very good. I'm sure some scenes are probably easier to write than others, but still. Have you ever struggled with this feeling, and if so, do you have any advice? Thank you and hope you have a nice day!
Stephen King has written more books than anyone I know. He writes 1500 words a day. That's what he does. Then he does other things.
If you write 300 words a day you will have written a 365 page novel in a year.
Just write.
