Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: This weekend was full of a lot of good food, so let's take a look and appreciate some of it! Friday, we did some praying and visiting and got to try one of our Tito's famous soups that my mom raves about, as well as a bunch of other yummies (including, but not limited to, fried rices, salmon, lumpia, pizza, and some sort of beef stew). The quickest way to my heart is putting some sort of egg in my soup bowl ^-^ the egg I got soaked up some great flavor and cut through with a rich, creamy taste. Saturday was a day out with a couple friends who just got their new puppy! So we gotta celebrate and enjoy some bubble tea, a pomegranate Cranberry sangria, and an autumn red salad with salmon. I'm very pleased that more and more places have salmon that isn't bone dry and actually tastes yummy. Alongside some of the more intense tastes in the salad itself, the salmon was a great palate cleanser and a nice savory note among the sweet pears, pumpkin brittle, and honey crisp vinaigrette. Life is busy, life is good. #ASCS https://www.instagram.com/p/CptiLKtsxUX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: One of our Titas invited us out to dinner to celebrate her birthday! And the meal was delicious ^-^ Longhorn is classic, and there's nothing like a fried onion app followed by one of my top 5 salads and a strip steak. (You can really tell why Longhorn made top 5 for best steakhouses). Happy birthday Tita! Heres to decades of more blessings and good times 鉂わ笍 #ASCS (at LongHorn Steakhouse) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpOyzITs_9D/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: Today, one of our Ates got married and we were lucky enough to be invited! Let's look at the food journey today as the happy couple starts their life together married. ^-^ First up, cocktail hour: alongside your standard cheese and crackers, there were bacon wrapped scallops, spicy mac and cheese balls, pulled pork and pineapple salsa, and apple/brie tartlets. I'd gladly take the pulled pork in a full sized sandwich, very moist, very flavorful, especially with the salsa. For drinks, we tried a bit of everything from champagne to wine to the couple's signature cocktails. I personally preferred Ate's margarita, that went down smooth, 10/10 will drink again ^-^ For appetizers, salad with balsamic dressing. Simple, delicious, makes me feel healthy. Entree, a combo of steak and chicken with potatoes and veggies. My theory is still sound that potatoes make everything even better. ^-^ Dessert, a deliciously light vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. (Rose petals so taste pretty minty, which gives me cocktail ideas). Congrats to Ate and Kuya on 10 years together and a lifetime to go! #ASCS (at Granite Rose by Wedgewood Weddings) https://www.instagram.com/p/Co03p1VMVuE/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: We visited the Puritan Backroom in Manchester a few days ago for some pretty good chicken tendies. There was an interesting sweet flavor to them that went well with their signature duck sauce. I'd also highly recommend their clam chowder and fries for dipping in it. I could just keep eating and eating ^-^ Here's to going back again for a mudslide sometime! #ASCS (at The Puritan Restaurant In Manchester NH) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoSh4WZJZJR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: It's been a very happy birthday today, trying The Melting Pot and it's fondue experience. To drink, we've got a peachy concoction that really hits you in the happy spot. There's a good bit of alcohol in it, so I've got a nice buzz going. For starters, the loaded bacon cheddar cheese fondue was *amazing*. So rich and melty and perfect for dipping apples, veggies, and bread. There was also an amazing strawberry caprese salad, with the most delicious Mozzarella I've ever had. I could eat this salad all day, every day. For mains, we had a nice portion of shrimp, chicken, salmon, and beef. The potatoes had an interesting texture, but nothing overly off-putting with the great selection of sauces to put on it. Lastly, dessert. Smores fondue with all sorts of dippy dippy things. My personal favorite has to be the rice crispies. Although, the cream puffs were also addictive. I was expecting whipped cream inside, but got **ice cream**. So refreshing after so much warm food. Definitely would go back for cheese and desserts, but not too often. Decadence abounds. ^-^ here's to quarter life crises, and more happy times ahead! #ASCS (at The Melting Pot Restaurant) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoGe3RfJxEH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: Senpais surprised me with an early birthday celebration! The first image is of the amazing handmade cake one senpai made for me, it's got peach and mango and is just the right level of sweet. (The marzipan jigglypuff made my heart melt). As far as I can remember, my birthday cakes from years prior were always bought, so the extra effort put in to make one by hand just puts me over the moon ^-^ We also tried Buttermilk & Bourbon in Boston and the food was delicious. I had the braised pig cheek and it just melts in your mouth, it's so tender. To drink, I ordered the Frozen Blood Ritual, which was a joy to drink, no alcohol taste but definitely has an alcohol buzz. And beignets for dessert with butter and chocolate. I gotta say, despite some hiccups, I think yesterday started one of the best birthdays I've had. And I think it can only get better from here ^-^ #ASCS (at Boston, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CncKY2_LkZh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: It's a bit late, but Monday night saw me wanting steak and I discovered that Walmart has surprisingly deliciously marbled steak tips. They're just seared with butter and oil, seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and served with carrots and mushrooms over rice. I'm also surprised they were still tender upon reheating the leftovers the next day. 10/10 will get again. #ASCS (at Lowell, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnUnAA0pdCR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: It's been a while, but good food deserves to be shared. Tonight, we're at an old favorite, Bamboo. To start, edamame (ever since one of my senpais had me try it, I've been hooked. Literally any place I go to with edamame, I'll order some to feel a little healthier lol). Next starter, dragon maki featuring shrimp tempura, eel, avocado, and roe. I love some good crunch from good tempura. Lastly, fried fish filet. It's so light and crispy and has the perfect balance of scallion and ginger in the sauce. (There was also shrimp fried rice in there somewhere, but I didn't have a chance to grab a photo before it was half gone. That just means it's that yummy lol) For anyone that follows my snapchat story, I got a quote that made my day: "idky, but whenever I see your posts of food, I feel like you somehow make it look sexier". And that came from someone who can't eat like 99% of what I post. I'll take that as an achievement ^-^ #ASCS (at Bamboo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmaVcU5pW89/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: Last night was a *solid* adventure in Snowport and some of the local rooftop bars in Boston. First up, there's amazing hot chocolate that's just warm enough to keep you fuzzy on the inside but not hot enough to burn your mouth. I personally recommend gingerbread, but they have so many delicious looking flavors. Next, dinner at Pink Taco. The tacos are to die for, albeit the drinks were pretty meh. I'd definitely go back to eat. To drink, we hit up Envoy and Flight Club for rum and coke and long Island iced tea. Can confirm, I had the most drinks I've ever had in 1 night and had a great time with some alumni friends from college ^-^ Sometimes spontaneity results in an amazing time, and some great experiences. Don't forget to go on a holiday adventure soon, it'll keep the magic and spirit of the season alive. The world could honestly use more cheer in it these days. #ASCS (at Boston, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cle8hwrpHen/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: Happy Thanksgiving! Heres to another year of blessings and good food and great company. This year was very seafood heavy, but I'm not complaining ^-^ Thank you to everyone who has touched my life so far for being part of who I am today. Enjoy your food coma today, I'm definitely enjoying mine. #ASCS (at Lowell, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClXW7DBJlKV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: This weekend was a wonderful whirlwind adventure at King Richard's Faire! Food isn't really my main focus when I go (it's a medieval faire, food is expensive and food ticket lines are a pain in the butt to wait in), but sharing an onion with senpais was a great way to fuel up for a day of treasure hunting and cheering for our knight in the joust. If you're wondering why there's an action shot of Jacques the Whipper, he's a solid *snack* to see in person. 100/10, well worth seeing him in person and not just on tik tok. To finish off the day, we stopped by cheesecake factory and I tried their chicken parm sandwich. As is usual with cheesecake factory, their portion was very well sized, and their recipe gives me ideas for making my own ^-^ I think I'll try to go more Japanese with it and make mine with katsu. I need more excuses to make katsu. To conclude, here's to a successful last weekend of the 2022 season for King Richard's. Huzzah! (Until next year, when I'll hopefully have actually finished my D&D OC cosplay and found the motivation to paint myself light blue ^-^) #ASCS (at King Richard's Faire) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkEy0FQJOxE/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: It's been a while since I've posted, but seeing as today was an exceptionally good day, let's appreciate some good food. We have Texas Roadhouse, a recent favorite option for food. There's nothing like a frozen drink and a nice slab of meat to make a meal. I gotta say, I usually avoid pork chops at restaurants since they end up pretty dry, but I'm happy to report that TR does their pork right. Its tender and juicy and was just the right size for me. Even if not everything goes to plan, the memories we make and the good times had regardless are what matter in the end. Try finding a little positivity in each day and you'd be surprised where you might find yourself ^-^ You might end up finding more than you expected #ASCS https://www.instagram.com/p/CiwGLqBsMeI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: It's starting to become a tradition that when my parents come home from a long trip, I have some sort of fast food feast waiting on the table. It's nice to not be alone in the house after a light switch turned itself on last week at 3 AM. KFC is KFC, absolutely hits the spot. 10/10, I know how to get to it so I'll probably get it again if I can convince myself I like parking the car in our spot at home. Time away to relax and recharge is a good thing. I'm pretty happy to see mom and dad back home safe and sound and with swollen feet from walking too much lol (at Lowell, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChBXccpsk58/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: This weekend was super busy and super fun, so let's talk about two of the great food experiences we had! First up, Saturday was a senpai birthday so we tried Fitzwilly's in North Hampton, MA. Of course, as soon as I saw "daddy's juice", I knew I had to try it. And it was delicious and super easy to drink, no alcohol taste at all! For starters, we had gorgonzola garlic bread and onion straws. Both of which were addicting. For main, pork belly BLT with some of the softest pork belly I've had. 20/10 will go back for more. Next up, Sunday was a beach day with besties. We had some purple urchin goodness! Our waiter was a sweetheart and gave us a couple drinks on the house, a frozen strawberry lemonade and a banana concoction that tastes like one of those banana pops I used to get as a kid. Naturally, I'm all in on steamers from here. 100/10, will go back for amazingly friendly staff and great drinks! Don't forget to reconnect with the people valuable to your heart. Even if it's just a quick message, don't forget to tell your loved ones you care. ^-^ #ASCS https://www.instagram.com/p/Cg-ab-lpnTt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: Tonight, it's too hot out, so we made soup. The best way to combat being sweaty is to make your insides warmer than the outside, then it doesn't seem as bad! At least that's what I've read anyway. But this is definitely a pretty good soup for measuring absolutely nothing lol. It's great for dipping things in. Next time definitely needs a grilled cheese. Take some time to find yourself a bit of internal warmth to combat the heat outside. Keep that internal fire burning, and don't give up on what you'd like to get done. #ASCS https://www.instagram.com/p/Cg0jE0dMOK1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: With the parents away on a romantic vacation, I get to have a nice staycation by myself. Night 1, I decided to experiment with something I've never tried before, gumbo! A while back, I picked up Snoop Dogg's From Crook to Cook and his gumbo recipe was super easy to follow and turned out super yummy! I had to make a couple of substitutions and make my own creole blend, but it ended up being a 10/10, will adjust my creole seasoning blend and make again. Don't forget to take some time for yourself and enjoy the quiet moments. #ASCS https://www.instagram.com/p/Cgm8FiCpZbS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Welcome to Amanda's Shitty Cooking Show: Mall days hit different as an adult. Yesterday, we tried a new gyro place and had a great experience. The food is fresh and flavorful, the staff are super friendly, and I'd definitely go back again for more. It's the little things in life that make it worth getting up in the morning. Here's to many more bright, happy days to come. #ASCS https://www.instagram.com/p/CfrwKUAu4dt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
