Departing had seemed the solution of aptness, for, as the binary of opposites dictated, the only other had been staying. And staying was a fate he couldn't have risked for either of them. (Though he'd damn himself in the countless centuries to come, should he confess his concern for the woman of his existence-spanning affection aloud.) Primarily, his fleeing had birthed itself from self-preservation -- an instinct innate to the never relenting game of survival. And, by nature of his leaving's meaning, Klaus' return appeared idiotic. Yet the hybrid could no more move his feet to segregate them again, than could he remove the woman from the place in his psyche she'd inhibited since his days as mortal.  

Hooping his arms behind his back in a reversed brace, Klaus clapped his lips and spoke. "Tatia." Is all he finds.

After an extended sequence of unresponsiveness, however, his inflated expression dulled to a touch off of worrisome. "Please don't be coy, surely our estrangement was enough torture?"

Though, her brazenness was no less exquisite than if Arianne had implied her wants with covert coyness - a trick so often wielded by women Niklaus considered the behaviour a bore. His favour for women residing between delightful doses of quirky wit and pleasant presentation; an awakening of mind in congruence with body. Arianne was an idealism, yet the revelation remained within the careful container of his own thoughts, ensuring her highness received tease enough to infer his interest and denial enough to chase his challenge.

Blue eyes reflected the twinkle of sewn sequins embedded within her robes, blinking by nature of the low lamp light. "That is a joy to hear, my princess. Howbeit, I feel I must seek further," a beat or two accompanies his slight lean, "who is this mystery other of whose fondness you speak?
