I grab a red marker, draw an arrow next to "SEX" and scratch "with ME >:)" beside it.

Sweat on my brow, I lean back and take it all in. I run a hand over and through my hair. I let out a breath I'd unknowingly been holding for a full minute.

"yes... I did it. Finally, I did it."

i kiss the locket containing the final photo of my dead wife. she'll rest in peace now. I understand. I finally understand.

scrolling through a thread on this hellsite and thinking "Hmmm, very insightful point" until the NEXT post is about how problematic and bad the previous post was, and thinking "Grrrr, you're right. Bad bad!" and then the NEXT post is a takedown of person #2 and explaining why Person #1 is actually right, and thinking "wait a minute... what do I think?"

long story short, it's really, really easy to have your opinions altered by someone speaking authoritatively on the internet, and you will always be biased toward whoever reblogged last.

This is a stupid question, but is there ever going to be an end to Flower Child? I was big into "Wayward Baby" a while back and started reading "Heaven Baby" before I realized that it wasn't finished.

Not stupid at all! I tentatively have three stories planned for Flower Child. Wayward Baby is finished, obviously! I've recently picked Heaven Baby back up and have about 8,000 words of Chapter 8 complete. I plan on "Wasteland Baby" to be the final, shortest installation that takes place in Shizuka's 30s, but I also want to be honest with myself and acknowledge I haven't updated Heaven Baby since 2023. I get it if you feel like there's been a drought! You can definitely motivate me to write more by leaving nice comments on Heaven or Wayward Baby. I promise this story is still at the top of my heart and mind.

Sometimes meaning well isn't enough. Sometimes by volunteering unsolicited advice that's so surface level you probably learned it in grade school, you're kind of implying the person you're talking to is a moron incapable of self determination or basic human functioning.

We're raised with the admirable social trait of wanting to help one another, and it pains us to see someone in a tough situation. Sometimes that situation IS as complicated as it seems, and sometimes they ARE kinda screwed for a while.

By suggesting someone's struggle is lesser, you're really just self-soothing. "I won't end up like that. If this happened to me, I'd just get another job."

You're not doing ANYONE a favor, and you're certainly not helping the person. You're reassuring yourself that you'll never be in their situation, and even if you were, their situation is actually super simple to overcome.

Stop providing unsolicited advice to people in pain.

and i know people mean well when they give employment advice but god damn some of them its like "did you try submitting your resume to a place that is hiring" fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no kidding. shit. ive just been printing them out and eating them. yeah thanks i'll try that
