Headcanons
Being the youngest Winchester kid includes,
Crowley calling you mini-Dean or Junior
You and Dean take turns at selling your soul to save Sam
You never get to sit in the front of the Impala
You realise a shapeshifter is pretending to be Dean when he lets you sit in the passenger seat
Sam’s the happy drunk, Dean’s the neutral/fun drunk and you’re the angry drunk
You… tend to start bar fights… a lot
Wrestling matches with your brothers
Wrestling with Dean gets serious too quickly and you try to choke each other out
No one really knows that there’s a third Winchester kid, which can be an advantage
You and Sam try to get Dean to eat healthier but it never happens
You lowkey have a thing for Meg
“You’ve been gone for days! And you were galavanting about with Meg!? A demon!” “W-well... Sam slept with Ruby!” “Don’t change the subject!”
Thinking Cas is the best thing since sliced bread
Being the only Winchester to not go to hell
You kinda vibe with Adam (rip our forgotten son)
Temporarily being a vessel for Gabriel
It was… an experience… and you never want to do it again
At some stage, you started letting Dean cut your hair
It’s the same length as Sam’s or shorter with absolutely no shaping god help you
Everything you know you learnt from your brothers
You do that iconic dorky Dean grin
Also, have the trademark Sam Winchester sass eyebrows
“Dean, give me back my iPod” “I didn’t take your stupid iPod” “Yeah, you did!” “No, I didn’t!” “You did!” “Nuh-uh” “Yeah-huh”
Meanwhile, Sam is just tired
Your crowning achievement to this day is that time you sucker-punched Ruby and lived to tell the tale
When Crowley’s addicted to human blood he gets super protective of you and tells Dean off for being mean
You end up getting along with angels fairly well
It all started out of spite because Dean didn’t like them, so you went out of your way to befriend any you met
This includes always sticking up for Cas when Dean’s being an ass
Sam basically has to deal with Dean and a smaller, slightly less self-deprecating Dean
When Dean gets back from Purgatory, he tells you about Benny at that you’d probably like him
Later, you go with Sam when he’s trying to hunt down Benny and distract Sam enough to let Benny escape
You end up staying with Benny in Louisiana once Sam see’s there’s no danger
“You… you should stay (Y/N). Me and Dean, we’ve had our chances at a normal life and it’s never worked out, but you… You’ve never stopped working. Please, if it’s only for me, take a break.”
You end up liking Benny a lot and although it’s a bit unorthodox, him being a vampire and all, it’s not like your brothers hadn’t done worse
Things are pretty smooth with Benny in Louisiana until Dean rings you up asking for Benny to help get Sam out of hell and of course, you’re dragging his ass there to go help your brother
When Benny doesn’t make it back, you end up joining your brothers again as a hunter

Warnings: None, spoilers for Supernatural’s earlier seasons Words: 2500 (I swear I don’t feel like it’s that long) Summary: A short where you are another one of John’s bastard children who grows up with the family but never really feels apart of it until much later.  Reader: 2nd-person, female pronouns A/N: I’m trying to do some writing while I have spare time and it’s not going great but the best way to move past it is to force yourself to write more so I tried to write a short on an idea for a reader-insert I’ve had for a while :)
Tumblr media
The night air never made you shake as hard as you did that night. Maybe it wasn’t the wind that caused your discomfort, but the yelling as your father, John and half-brother, Sam, fought. Beside you was your other half brother, Dean. You stood between your brothers with Dean closer to your father. You were freshly 18, a year and a bit younger than Sam.
After the death off his wife, John had turned to a rather unhealthy form of grieving. One night, after finding a baby sitter for his two young children, he encountered a rather pretty woman who took pity on his situation and offered him a night of free beers and other activities which resulted in you. Unfortunately, like many women the Winchesters encountered, your mother didn’t live long after birthing you and informing John of your existence. Now stuck with two babies, John really did try to make you someone else’s problem. He could barely take care of two kids, how was he going to take on another, not to mention a girl? Yet, despite all he tried, you just seemed to stick. Now one could get rid of you no matter how hard they might have tried. So you grew up as the illegitimate Winchester girl. The black sheep of the hunter family.

Yet, despite all he tried, you just seemed to stick. Now one could get rid of you no matter how hard they might have tried. So you grew up as the illegitimate Winchester girl. The black sheep of the hunter family.
John never really looked at you the way he did Sam and Dean. Dean never recognised you as his sister. It was hard enough for him to relate to Sam, who’d never met his mother, but even harder for him to relate with you. You were only half his sister and a burden on top of that as for many years of his younger life he was stuck looking after you and Sam. But hey, at least you had Sam. Being very close in age and slightly less traumatised than Dean, you got along very well and would always be on research duty. In many ways, you two were the same. You both caring and thoughtful and neither of you had a good relationship with your father. The difference was Sam had a goal and aspirations. He wanted to be a lawyer and he wasn’t going to let anyone stop him. You, on the other hand, had no idea what you wanted to do and never got the opportunity to explore your passions.
You’d never forget the sound of John raising his voice like he did that night. Even as you heard it all you already knew what was going to happen. Sam had made up his mind. He was going to Stanford and he wasn’t going to let his dad bully him out of it anymore. Sam had spoken to you about it the night before and offered for you to go with him. You were old enough to enrol in a nearby community college and crash with Sam in whatever little apartment he could get his hands on. You both knew you wouldn’t get into a course at Stanford- you didn’t have the education thanks to the constant travelling- but Sam assured he’d make it work. You turned him down, though. You couldn’t stand up to John as Sam could, and you couldn’t bare to become a burden on Sam when he finally got to get away from it all.
“If you leave us- if you go to Stanford- don’t you ever come back, you hear me? Don’t you ever come back!” John had yelled. Sam had given you and Dean a sad look like a silent goodbye and left after that.
With Sam now gone, and John growing more and more absent in your life with each passing day, you were forced to get closer with Dean. It was weird. You’d know Dean your whole life and yet he felt like a stranger to you and it was clearly mutual. Often you were chasing at his heels, scared of getting left behind. The years you spent with Dean while Sam was off at Stanford didn’t include a lot of bonding between the two of you, but you did pick up a lot of his traits that included but were not limited to: being headstrong, stubborn, argumentative, and thinking that yelling louder meant you were winning. This lead to a lot of screaming matches between you and your older brother that never really went anywhere.
Living in close quarters with Dean and constantly butting heads caused you to gain quite the temper too, to the point that you were once 5 seconds away from getting arrested for assault after finding out Dean had let some poor unsuspecting waitress borrow your clothes after spending the night in the neighbouring motel room to the one you had been staying in.
2005 rolled around like a blessing you didn’t realise you’d been praying for. Dean had grown anxious enough about your father’s disappearance that he’d resorted to asking Sam for help. He dragged you along for the long drive to Stanford. As per tradition, you sat in the back of the Impala.
“You know, I’m surprised your pride calmed down enough for to actually admit needing help, Dean. I didn’t think it was possible,” You mocked from the back seat as you toyed with the cord on your walkman.
“Yeah, well maybe if you were any help we wouldn’t be needing to go harass Sammy,” he retorted. “You don’t even want to help look for dad. All you do is whine and complain until it comes to your turn to get off your ass and then suddenly it’s not an issue.”
“My stance on dad is very clear.”
“What? ‘Cause he said you were acting like a skank that one time? Geez, (Y/N) he’s done way worse to me and you don’t see me just up and abandoning family like that. It’s not like he was completely wrong anyway-”
You kicked the back of the headrest on the driver’s seat. “Family- bah,” you scoffed at Dean. “Family is you, dad and Sammy. I don’t come into that equation. Never have, never will, all ‘cuz my genes are a bit different to yours.” You could see Dean roll his eyes in the revision mirror. “Just ‘cause Mary wasn’t my mum doesn’t mean I didn’t lose a mother. You don’t give Sam shit and he knew your mum as long as I knew mine.”
From the reflection in the mirror, you could see Dean’s mouth go taut. It was something you had argued over many times and there was never any progress, so he instead he turned up on the volume on the stereo. In response, you turned up your walkman and spent the rest of the drive in bitter silence.
Hours later, the Impala rolled up to a little flat a couple blocks from the university which you assured was where Sam lived now. It was the middle of the night and Dean was already out of the car and looking for a way to break in before you could get a word out. You raced out after him and yanked him back before he could crawl through a window. Dean went to protest, but stopped when you gestured for him to be quiet. That was one of the few things you and Dean could do and that was work well on hunts together. When one of you gave the other a signal, you would listen.
“Why don’t we use the door, Dean? Like normal people.” You hissed under your breath. Dean smirked.
“Normal people? Since when have we ever been like that?” Although he joked, he obliged and you both snuck back over to the front door and Dean knocked. You eyed him and saw he was nervous. It was weird to see him practically sweating with anticipation. You never saw that side of Dean, but before you could tease him, the door opened.
A groggy looking blonde woman stood in the doorway in a robe while rubbing her eyes and hiding a yawn. Clearly she’d only just woken up, and no wonder considering it was past midnight. “Hello?” She said with a frown.
“Hi, Jessica-”
“Jessica?” Dean scrunched his nose and looked down at you, confused.
“I’m (Y/N), Sam’s brother. We spoke on the phone last year around Christmas. This is Dean, other brother.” You smiled as recognition washed over the girl’s face and she nodded.
“Yeah… yeah I remember. What are you guys doing here? Actually, nevermind… I’ll go get Sam.” She stepped back into the house. “Give me a minute.” She then disappeared into the living room to assumably go get Sam. Once the coast was clear, Dean grabbed your arm and spun you to look at him.
“You know her?” Dean said in a hushed voice.
“Of course I know her, Sam and Jessica have been dating for a while. And before you ask, I ring Sam every Christmas and we talk shit about you for a few hours. It’s no big deal.” Besides complaining about Dean, your annual calls to Sam also involved you catching up on what was going on in his life and getting to unload your own problems to someone who would listen. You never told Sam, because you didn’t want him to feel guilty, but you missed him a lot.
Sam came into view a minute later, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and a large smile stretching across his face as he saw his siblings standing in the doorway. You were practically beaming and leap and him as soon as he got close and pulled him into a tight hug. You felt the rumbling of his chest as he gave a hearty laugh and hugged you back. Big hugs were something you always did with Sam before he left. You were surprised, though, when there was a pressure against your back as Dean joined and squished you in the middle. It was… a shock to be sure- Dean hadn’t ever given you a proper hug before- but it was a welcome one.
Dean decided to let Sam get back to sleep and process your arrival and he and you spent the night in the Impala. The next morning you both met Sam bright and early at a local coffee shop to talk and catch Sam up on everything that had happened and why you were there. Sam chuckled when he saw you both.
“What’s so funny?” You mused as you slide across the seat in a booth and Dean sat beside you, giving you a slight shove.
“Oh, it’s just..” Sam was looking between the two of you fondly. “It’s like I’m seeing double.” He finally admitted. This caused you and Dean to look at each other, where you realised you were practically wearing the same thing. You both had a grey shirt, red button-up and black jacket with jeans and boots. You even had similarly scruffy hair. As if to prove Sam’s point further, a waitress came by with an order of two coffees and two plates of fries and a burger.
“It wasn’t intentional,” you snapped. Sam’s eyebrows raised a little at the sudden burst of attitude.
“You’re like a mini-Dean.” Sam joked.
“Yeah, she wishes,” Dean teased and gave you another shove with his elbow. You grumbled.
“More like he’s an exaggerated me.” You pushed Dean back and then shuffled to sit away from him to avoid further harassment. “If you don’t stop I’m gonna start acting like Dean and then you’ll have two big babies with a bad taste in movies to deal with.”
You decided to instead focus on eating your food and listen after that while Dean briefed Sam on what was going on.
Neither you, Dean or Sam, had expected that after that day you’d all be travelling together again. After what happened to Jessica, Sam was back and hunting. It felt almost wrong to see him in the front seat again with Dean. Sam was the one who was meant to get out, yet here he was getting dragged back in again. You wanted to console him, but there was only so much talking he’d do before getting frustrated and wanting to be left alone. You found yourself sitting with Dean outside of whatever motel you were staying at some nights. You’d mainly talk about Sam and how you both worried about him. It seemed that finally the two of you had something in common.
Weeks and weeks of running around the States, hunting monsters and what-not, you were finally blessed with the knowledge that your father was, in fact, alive and had not had the time to get back to Dean. Instead of getting to hear some sort of praise for your efforts, John instead gave Dean instructions and lists of jobs to go finish up. During these jobs, the three of you encountered a demon named Meg. Like a lot of demons oddly enough, Meg liked to talk and revealed she had a connection to what had killed Mary. All the time you found yourself getting angrier with your father’s actions and the way he treated your brothers. It wasn’t until Dean reported what you’d found out about Meg did the Winchester father make the effort to come to meet up with you.
You stood back by the Impala while your brothers paced the street impatiently, waiting for the arrival of their dad. He arrived eventually. Dean was first to hug John, while Sam was a little more reluctant. You picked at your nails, waiting for it all to just be over so you could get back on the road. You were annoyed at your father and weren’t in the mood to be acting like you weren’t. No one seemed to notice you for a while until finally, Dean spoke up.
“And, you know, if it wasn’t for (Y/N) we never would have heard anything off that demon.” At the sound of your name, you perked up and begrudgingly walked over. Neither you nor John made an effort to hug as your brothers had. As you stood awkwardly, Dean looked down at you and saw the tight expression on your face. “Of course… you never notice when she does stuff, huh dad.”
Nothing came from that comment and you ended up excusing yourself to sit in the car to avoid saying something you’d regret, but as you sat in the Impala with your walkman, you smiled a bit. Dean… stood up for you? Sure, it wasn’t much but it was something. Now that you had the chance to think about it, Dean had been acting differently towards you ever since Sam had come back. It was nice. Maybe things were going to start changing.

Here are some WIPS I abandoned
I really, really like to share things I’ve written and I’m currently on break thanks to the pandemic and have a bit of free time on my hands, so I’ve been reading through unfinished google docs and super old wips on my computer that I never finished.
I couldn’t decide on how I wanted to share these, since some are quite long and others are short. I think the best way to do it is to post a link to a google doc that has all the wips on it and can easily be navigated. so, have fun LINK HERE
Navigate via the document outline on the left :)
For me, some of these are fun to laugh at and others its nice to just read and be reminded of old stuff.
If anyone is super invested in one of these and wants me to finish, or to finish a series I’ve posted and not completed, feel free to send me a message but there’s no guarantee I’ll be writing anything anytime soon :/

Here’s a mini thing I got carried away with (Shane x Farmer)
I was playing with an idea I had for an imagine and pitched it over discord. This is just a copy-paste of the messages I sent about the prompt which turned into a half-assed mini story. It starts off as a prompt but goes into more detail and Yes the tense changes at points- sorry about that, but I was writing this over the course of a few hours between doing other things. I really liked the idea in the end so I thought I’d share :)
Shane x Farmer OC/You except it's an alternative POV Groundhog Day-esque mystery, where Shane's anxiety and low self-esteem makes him question why on Earth the farmer wants to be friends enough that he starts to notice how they can act a little weird. Weird as in the way they pause at random moments before something happens as if they were expecting it when there was no way they could have known, or how they seem to know everything he likes but play it off as a "good guess". Then, of course, the Farmer and Shane fall in love and start dating. Shane notices the Farmer goes to Cindersap forest a lot, and always in a sneaking manner. He hears from Lewis about the weird man who lives in a tower and those insecurities kick in once again. Shane and the Farmer have a fight about it, with the Farmer flatly denying any suggestions and tries to defuse the situation (and they seem to know exactly what to say to calm him down, which only frustrates him further). Shane then goes to investigate on his own and see if the Farmer is cheating on him (which is what he suspects). He finds the wizard in the tower,
[completely out of character dialogue but you get the gist]
Rasmodius: Ah, [Farmer's name]'s husband... what do you want?
Shane: ... husband?
Shane: Who- we're not married. I'm not their husband. Who are you?
Rasmodius: A-hah, finally divorced you, have they? I'm not surprised. If you want a love potion to win them back, that's not how this works
Shane: What are you on about? We have never been married- I've barely known them a year!
An awkward silence ensues and a look of concern washes over the Wizard's face. He mutters something to himself and makes a wave with his hand. Shane is pushed out of the tower against his will and the door slams firmly shut. He goes home confused and still, if not more, upset.
The next morning Shane wanders onto the farm hungover from the night before, him having drunk himself to sleep. As he approached from the upper right from town, he can hear loud voices. Once he gets close enough he see's the wizard on the Farmer's doorstep and the Farmer in the doorway. They're having a heated discussion. The farmer looks like they've been crying. Being the caring boyfriend, Shane goes to the Farmer's defence without hesitation. The wizard gives the farmer a look, which causes them to cast their eyes down. They don't look at Shane.
"You need to fix this," the Wizard states firmly. The harshness and obvious anger in his voice makes the Farmer wince. Shane goes to intervene, but the Wizard leaves too quickly for it to matter.
The Farmer doesn't invite Shane into their house like they normally would. They keep the doorway blocked with their body and come off as reserved. The sight of them causes a pain in Shane's head, like a memory fighting its way to the surface. It makes him blurt, "We've been here before." The Farmer sobs. Shane doesn't comfort them, only looking on in shock and confusion.
"We're were married," The Farmer confesses.
Long ago, in another life, the Farmer had met Shane in the secluded Pelican Town in Stardew Valley. It was like a whole other world, so cut off from the rest of society. The war hadn't reached the valley, nor had it been consumed by modern technology. The other threat to it was Joja mart, which the Farmer swiftly put an end to with the help of the Junimos. Shane and the Farmer married in the Summer of the Farmer's third year. Their love was sweet and naive. It took the Farmer a long time to gain Shane's trust, to learn what he liked and what he didn't, but they enjoyed everyone second of it. Of course, married life was much different from dating. Very quickly the threads of their relationship came undone. Tempers were tested and their love was challenged. Snide comments turned to midnight screaming matches and neither could find common ground. The Farmer was hard-working, but at times struggled to empathise with him. Shane was passionate, but still struggling with his mental health and found it difficult to have any motivation.
That was their first marriage.
With a quick deal, the Farmer was given a second chance to start again. A new life in the same old Pelican Town. A completely clean slate. They knew what they were doing this time. They knew how to woo Shane while also keeping the Farm in good condition. They were like a machine. The two married in the Winter of the Farmer's first year. Shane, unaware of the upper hand the Farmer had, was smitten. He'd found his soulmate. They were perfect together, so of course, when the topic of babies came up, they were quick to make a decision.
"We had kids...?" The memories Shane was getting back were faint and hard to interpret, but he knew the Farmer was telling the truth. He felt sick. The regret that washed over the Farmer's face when he spoke only made it worse.
"You- We, hated it. We were terrible parents. I wasn't fit for it, I-I was too busy all the time, and it stressed you out so much. We weren't happy." The Farmer's voice began to crack. "It just wouldn't stop crying... no matter what we did... it just wouldn't stop."
The Farmer had found themselves on the Witch's doorstep again, ready to make a deal. They had remembered what the Witch had offered them last time and decided to take them up on one of their offers. 'Only you, I and the wizard will have any memories of these events you are about to erase'. With a hefty fee, the Farmer wished for their troubled child to be set free, to be turned into a dove.
This was no easy fix, though. Somehow, in some way, Shane figured it out, and he stood in the rain where he was standing now, looking at the Farmer as they stood in the doorway, hoping- praying for some kind of answer that would make it all better. He relied on the Farmer for that. They always seemed to fix his problems for him, but all the sudden they were the cause.
"You were going to hurt yourself... I couldn't let you go. I had to stop you."
Shane had gone to the cliff edge like he had done times before, but nothing the Farmer had said changed his mind. They were the problem, not the solution anymore.
..
One more time. Just one more time and they'd get it right. Things would be perfect, and they would be happy. But the Farmer couldn't restart again. They felt themselves getting older both physically and mentally from the constant stress. A different deal with the witch, and with a little extra. Erase the town's memory of Shane and they're relationship. Any trace that they had been any more their friends would be gone. Additionally, for the price of their soul, Stardew Valley would continue to be a secluded, untouched miracle in a war-torn world, where no ill would come to the valley and its inhabitants would stay in their happy little bubble. There would be no death, no ageing, and the outside world would only resume when interacted with. It was a strong spell, but it was worth it for an eternity of paradise. The Farmer could start again with Shane while keeping their progress on the farm and with the rest of the town, that way they would be ready for anything.
"So here we are," The Farmer said with a forced laugh. They looked like how Shane felt- complete and utter shit. Hopeless, lost and hurt was a good way to put it. By now the hidden memories had come back just like any other memory, but it didn't ease Shane. Somehow he could comprehend it all, but what does one do in that situation? Knowing knowledge that shouldn't be known. Sure, the Farmer told him of two instances where they had reset their relationship (and practically time itself), but how many other times had they toyed with this power? How could one determine what was genuine and what was a forced lie implanted into the mind? Shane thought of the child he now remembered. He felt guilty for forgetting. He felt grief for the child he had lost. He felt betrayed, oh so betrayed, by the one he thought he cared for so deeply, who had used and toyed with him like he were some program that could be edited and reset at a whim.
"I hate you,"
Those three words. Three words the Farmer thought they could never withstand hearing from him... but they had. They had more times than they would ever acknowledge. The naive Farmer who came to Stardew Valley would have never survived the heartbreak, but that person was gone- consumed by the determination to fix things. They were barely fazed by the words at this point; the phrase was like a paper cut, it hurt, but only for a moment. Why should they worry, anyway? They'd get it right next time.
"One more time," they said. "It'll be the last and I'll get it right. We'll be happy. I'll wipe the slate clean this time."

Bad Aim (Dean Winchester) Pt. 1
Warning: None (minor mention of bullet wounds) Word count: 900 Summary: The Winchester boys are staying at your country house for a while and Dean takes it upon himself to teach you how to use a handgun. Reader: 2nd-person, gender not specified.
A/N: Part two coming soon- comment to be added to a tag list
Tumblr media
You were hit with the smell of gunpowder as the sound of a fired shot quickly melted away. You watched as the older Winchester stood 20 or so metres away from a row of beer bottles that had been lined up as targets. “Aaaand that- is how it’s done.” He had spent the last 10 minutes teaching you how to load, aim and shoot a handgun, much to your amusement. Dean took it upon himself to teach you some self-defence ever since he found out you had been living alone in the countryside. Both of the Winchester boys were currently staying with you while they looked for their next job. “Alright, your turn.”
You strode up beside Dean and took the gun that was handed to you. You noticed he’d put the safety on. He’d gone through all the steps that you had to take painfully slow and in extreme depth. To humour him, you did each step, although you could have easily just held out the gun then shot. First, you put your dominant leg forward and raised the corresponding arm that held the gun. It didn’t take much concentration and you felt the hairs on your next prick as Dean got closer to you. Soon he had one hand on your hip and the other coming up to guide your hand that held the gun. His chin rested on your shoulder that pointed forward. You could feel the warmth of his skin against yours. Dean sure lived up to his reputation of being a relentless flirt.

“So you just-” He went to take you through the process but you already took off the safety, much to his surprise, and fired at the empty bottles successively. You hit each shot. “... Do that.” Dean sounded taken back and while he was you slipped out of his hold, flicked the safety back on, and handed the gun back to him.
“Gee, you sure are a good teacher.” You couldn’t help but mock him a little. If he’d taken just a little time to get to know you better instead of just trying to woo you, he would have known you had spent hours practising with a gun and other manners of self-defence to keep yourself safe. After all, you had connections with hunters, it was only a matter of time before a demon came knocking down your door. “You didn’t honestly think I wouldn’t have spent time practising?”
“Now, hold your horses, (Y/N). Those are stationary targets. Anyone can hit something that’s not moving.” He laughed it off to hide his initial surprise. You couldn’t help but roll your eyes. Why, all of a sudden, were you having to prove yourself? You should have told him to shove it right then and there, but instead you said, “Fine, give me a moving target.”
Combined, the two of you had a lot of experience when it came to the supernatural and survival in general. You were both smart- but also stupid. Dean stood at the target line up with a bottle hanging in his hand. He was moving side to side while you tried your hardest to concentrate and not get distracted by intrusive thoughts.
“You going to shoot today, (L/N)?” Dean teased. He was getting impatient and decided to get a bit experimental and threw the bottle into the air, then caught it. “It’s getting dark, you know.” He continued to try and stir you up- and it was working. You felt yourself getting more and more frustrated as you aimed. “I thought you knew how-”
You fired. The sound of glass smashing was delayed, though. Your eyes focused in and you saw Dean had dropped the bottle, then realisation washed over you. “Shit! Dean!” You ran to him, discarding the gun, as he brought his hand up to grip his shoulder. Once you were close you could see red bleeding into the material of his shirt. Without thinking you shimmied off your jacket and folded it up to be a temporary bandage. “My god- I’m so sorry.”
Dean grumbled, “You’re a shit shot.”
“And you’re an idiot for jumping around like that!” You snapped back, but your anger washed away as soon as you saw the pained expression on his face again. “Come on, let's get you inside.”
You set Dean up by the fireplace. It got cold at night it would be best to keep him comfortable while his shoulder healed. You felt horribly guilty for shooting him- until he made a sarcastic comment. Then you felt a little less guilty. Fortunately, you’d only hit his shoulder and nothing vital either. Sam had volunteered to go get some supplies from the general store, which was mainly whiskey.
While Sam was gone, you got to work on getting the bullet out of Dean’s shoulder. You sat beside the fire with Dean and cleaned up the wound with some rubbing alcohol. Dean didn’t hesitate to complain. “Could you be any more violent? It’s like you’re trying to rub the skin right off my shoulder!”
“Oh shush! You’re being such a baby.” You scolded him and took out a pair of tweezers from your pile of tools you had beside you. “Tell me how you’d assemble a rifle.”
“What?” Dean was stopped short as pain shot through his side. You didn’t take your eyes off what you were doing but repeated yourself sternly. Frowning, he obeyed and began explaining the process to you. Meanwhile, you worked on getting the bullet out.
---- comment to get a notification when the next part is out. I'll make a small tag list.

Overdue Nap (Dean Winchester Imagine)
Warnings: None. Minor spoilers for season 4 Word count: 800 Summary: After an all-nighter of research, you’re all exhausted. Reader: Female in third-person
Tumblr media
“(Y/N), it’s late. Go upstairs and get some sleep, will ya?” Bobby too looked exhausted and struggled to keep his eyelids open even as he lectured the girl hunched over a large old book. (Y/N) had been living with the older hunter for a long time, ever since she was young, and was basically family. Sometimes she’d even slip up and call him ‘dad’ and Bobby would be lying if he said it didn’t make his heart almost combust.
“If she wants to help, let her help. You’re the one always sayin’ we should lead by her example, Bobby.” Dean stood by Bobby’s desk and was flicking through his father’s journal for the 8th time. The three of you had been up all night trying to figure out some way to help Sam. He’d run off, drunk on demon blood and not getting any better. “Anyway… we need all the help we can get.”
Hours later, it was quiet minus the soft sounds of breathing coming from Bobby as he napped with his head on his desk. (Y/N) lay across the couch adjacent to the desk, the book she had been reading discarded onto the floor. Dean found himself dozing off while standing and finally decided to call it a night. His designated sleeping spot was usually the couch. He yawned.
“(Y/N),” Dean didn’t want to wake Bobby and stepped closer to the girl and gently shook her shoulder. “You’ve got your own bed… get up.” He yawned again, much more intensely this time. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d slept, but it was definitely catching up with him. “(Y/N).” She showed no signs of moving and just grumbled. Dean saw no other option than to push her off. Sure, there were probably some better actions he could take but his mind was too foggy to think clearly. He reached over her and put his hand behind her between her back, then lifted himself over and onto the couch. As soon as his body was horizontal he started to drift to sleep, simultaneously (Y/N) began to roll off the couch. Instinctively and not necessarily consciously, Dean’s arm hooked around her torso and stopped her from falling further.
(Y/N) woke to a naturally lit study with hair stuck in her mouth and sleep in her eyes. There was a snug feeling around her waist and she assumed she’d slept with her belt on- until she tried to move. Looking down she saw two arms wrapped around her. Panic was the first thing that went through her mind. What the hell had she been doing last night? No… no her memory was clear and she didn’t even have a drink.
“Dean!” She hissed. “Dean-”
Before she could raise her voice further Bobby rushed from around the corner with his finger to his lip to quieten her. He came over and gently pried Dean’s grip off her and with trained expertise she escaped. Frowning and somewhat worried Bobby had the wrong idea she followed him into the kitchen where they kept their voices down.
“Sorry ‘bout that, (Y/N), but I haven’t seen the kid sleep for that long in… well forever. I couldn’t bring myself to wake you both up.” Bobby noticed (Y/N) looked a little off. “You alright? He didn’t try nothing on you, did he? I’ll kill him if he did-”
“No- no. He didn’t do anything!” She reassured Bobby, who was already looking ready to beat Dean to next year. “It’s just…” she took a moment to think. Dean seemed to be such a heavy sleeper from what she just saw, it seemed hard to believe it was a rare occasion. She knew he had a lot on his plate too, he must have been stressed. “How long were we asleep?”
“10 hours easy, it’s late afternoon.”
“Jeez.” (Y/N) peered into the study from where they were standing. “He looks really peaceful when he sleeps. It’s kind of sad to think he’ll wake up and that’ll fade away.” She felt a bit sad for the man. (Y/N) had known Dean and Sam for as long as they had been visiting Bobby with their dad, but she never knew them. Especially not Dean. He was so defensive when it came to opening up. She felt bad for never taking the time to really get to know him.
“He’ll probably wake up soon,” Bobby concluded. Once Dean was up the three would go back to reading and planning, so it was nice to take a break for just a moment. (Y/N) moved to the kettle and filled it with water. “I’ll make us some late lunch.”
Not long after (Y/N) started up the stove and the scent of food wafted through the house, Dean was awake and pestering her for scraps like a seagull. He took a slice of bread to eat while he waited for the finished meal.
“Sleep well?” (Y/N) asked as she put a plate down on the table for him. Dean was already stuffing his face and looked up at her, a little confused on why she would ask.
“Uh yeah, pretty good actually.”

Late Night Promise (Dean Winchester Imagine)
Warnings: None! Also no spoilers~ Word count: 620 Summary: Dean tells you his plans for the future and his mind seems pretty set
Tumblr media
“You know…” Dean took a sip from his beer. He and (Y/N) dangled their legs over the edge of a small cliff with the headlights of the Impala behind them keeping their figures illuminated in the dark. (Y/N) eyed him without turning her head and continued to face straight ahead. Between her fingers, she held her own beer bottle, but unlike Dean, she had barely taken a sip.
