DISNEY | FABREVANS
“Lets see,” Quinn said happily as she checked the clock for what felt like the millionth time only to see it had moved a mere ten minutes. Still their girls were talking forever to get dressed in the bathroom. It was cute they wanted to get all dressed up like their favorite Disney Princesses but at this rate they would get there after all the other people and the girls would be disappointed at the lines and waiting.
Glancing over to Sam, Quinn shrugged her shoulders knowing it would be pointless to push their luck. If she had to guess, Aria was still trying to take Cadence into allowing her to put some kind of make-up on her. To be honest, Quinn didn’t even know what her girls had decided on considering they wanted it to be a surprise. She could take a good guess, and she suspected she would be right, but it was cute they wanted to surprise them.
“What happened to the days when you simply threw a pair of Mickey Mouse ears on and called it a day?” She joked with Sam with a tiny laugh escaping her lips. “Remind me why we thought it would be a good idea to have three girls?” Again Quinn was simply joking. She loved her girls and she loved their life even if it did mean spending a lot o time waiting for the bathroom to be free and everyone to be where they needed to be.
“Q, there are going to be so many people at the park by the time we get there at this rate,” Sam said his eyes slightly wide. Normally, he was the chill parent but it was already late and it felt like Disney land was going to feel like some sort of hell with wall-to-wall people. But in the same sense he didn’t want to rush their girls. This was about them having fun in the magical place on Earth, after all.
At Quinn’s comment Sam laughed and shook his head. “Mickey Mouse ears are not going to fly with Aria. Have you met our daughter?” he questioned about their eldest. “Listen, we are lucky to have escaped her make-up frenzy.” If she had had it her way Quinn and Sam too would probably be dressing up. And as much as Sam didn’t mind dressing up and costumes this was much better in his mind.
“No, no, no. I believe it was you who had wanted girls,” he teased back. “Three boys would have been my dream,” Sam joked. To be honest, Sam loved his girls to pieces and would want their family to be any other way. “Aria! Hurry up, this is your five minute warning or I’m coming in there,” Sam said with a grin outside the door because he wasn’t angry he did just want to move things along. “Who do you think they are dressed as?” he asked Quinn softly.

“Oh, I am hilarious, don’t you know that?” Quinn asked him as she stared back at him watching the way he moved around the kitchen. “Ask anyone, they’ll tell you…” And they would. That was the great thing about being Quinn Fabray, she could be whatever she wanted and people would just agree with her. It was one of the many perks of being the ‘it girl’ in high school. She could even date someone that wasn’t the quarterback if she wanted.
She raised an eyebrow. “You better remember you said that,” she teased with another laugh. If anything it was Quinn’s job to make him wait, but she hadn’t known him long enough to pull that card. It wasn’t totally unheard of for Quinn to show up late to anything in order to make an appearance worthy of her crown. This time however, she wanted to make a good impression. Not that she could be late to her own house anyhow.
“Isn’t it kind of hard to sunbath without the sun,” Quinn asked as she set her towel down on the chair next to Sam. If she was there with her friends that was what they would have spent their day doing. Going in the pool meant messing up your hair and who did that? Even if they were only at Quinn’s house snapping pictures and attempting to make everyone jealous. “I promise I won’t even push you in…”
Sam chuckled at her response. “I didn’t know. I know a lot about you, but I never heard about you being funny,” he teased back. Sam didn’t doubt that, though. Anybody at school would probably agree with Quinn if she asked them too. Nobody was going to go against her. She could ruin anybody’s reputation or elevate it for that matter in a matter of minutes.
“I promise, Q. I’m not going to keep you waiting,” he teased with a laugh knowing it was true, though. Quinn tended to be the one that kept people waiting. He knew it was probably her wanting to make an entrance, and honestly, it didn’t bug him. He was fine with the wait, knowing she was the one he was waiting for. “But you can’t make me wait too long either. It wouldn’t be very fair, you know,” he joked.
When he heard her voice, he turned around and gave her a smile at the comment. “Really hard. I guess it’s a good thing I’m not working on my tan,” he teased. “Just waiting for a super cute girl to finally show up,” he said playfully, looking over at Quinn. “Oh, do you? That’s awfully kind of you too bad I’m not sure I can promise the same thing,” Sam said, standing up, still smiling down at her knowing he wasn’t about to push Quinn into the pool. But it was fun to banter with her.

Quinn raised an eyebrow. “You know on second thought…” She started with a laugh hoping Sam didn’t think she was being serious. However, it was a warm night and surely it would be better spent by the pool than caught up inside where it was awkward and uncomfortable, which was silly considering it was Sam. The two of them spent plenty of time together in school and Glee club, so why should this be any different.
“Then let me point you in the direction of the bathroom so you can change and then you can meet me outside.” Quinn told him as she pointed out which way to the bathroom and then brought him back to the kitchen. “I am sure you can find the way to the pool,” she teased knowing the patio behind them lead to their rather large in ground pool. A pool that hardly got used other than her occasional pool party or days when Santana decided she wanted to lounge by the pool and work on her tan.
“Just make sure not to take too long, you know how I hate to be kept waiting.” Quinn joked. If anything, it was more likely she would be the one to keep Sam waiting than him to keep her waiting.
When Quinn started to retract her offer to go to the pool, Sam quickly shook his head. But then her laugh gave her away. He playfully glared at her but couldn’t hold back his own laugh. “You think you’re really funny, don’t you?” he teased back, knowing Quinn probably did. He was happy that any awkwardness there had been (hopefully) was gone now. They knew each other already; this shouldn’t be that weird.
“Yes, please,” Sam said, watching as Quinn pointed him to the bathroom. “Yeah, I think I can manage not to get lost,” he joked back with a bright smile. “Alright, I won’t keep you waiting. Wouldn’t want to make Quinn Fabray upset,” he teased, giving her one last smile before going to grab the bag he had brought with his swim trunks. He hadn’t known why Quinn told him to bring them at first, but now it all made sense.
Quickly, Sam changed in the bathroom and easily found his way back out the patio. It totally didn’t surprise him that Quinn wasn’t there. Of course, she’d be the one to make him wait. Sam sat down on one of the lounge chairs, waiting for her. He honestly felt a tiny bit weird sitting at the Fabray’s wearing only his swimming trunks. But like, he didn’t swim with a shirt on... He was probably just overthinking it.

Quinn had to laugh. “Trust me, the kitchen has never seen a mess.” Mostly because no one used their kitchen. Quinn had always figured as she got older she would learn to cook and it would go to use, it was a beautiful kitchen, but she had never taken to cooking. There was too much to learn else where in her life such as make-up, manners, studying, and making sure she was the perfect little model her parents wanted her to be. Food wasn’t something young girls were supposed to worry about or even eat that much because it would make you fat.
Quinn gave him an easy smile as she pulled a pair of waters out of the fridge and tossed one to Sam. Right, this was supposed to be easy. “The food’s not here yet…” It was supposed to be there but the restaurant must have been busy or something. Breadsticks wasn’t a place her parents often ordered so they weren’t really on the bandwagon about rushing their food to them when they ordered it.
“Did you want to watch a movie or…” Quinn thought about it a moment. “There’s always the pool if your more in the mood to go swimming.”
“I don’t doubt you,” Sam told Quinn not having to even see more than just a tiny bit of the house to get a feel for it. The Fabray’s were not the kind of family that baked a whole bunch of cookies on a Saturday night and didn’t worry about the huge mess they made. Sam had never seen a kitchen so clean.
Sam smiled as he accepted the water from Quinn and nodded as she said the food wasn’t there. “Right. So we’ve got some time to kill.” Sam knew what he wanted to do but suggesting they made out was probably not on the table yet.
When Quinn mentioned the pool Sam’s ears perked up and a smile formed on his lips. “Oh come on there’s no question right? We have to go swimming,” he told the blonde still smiling. “That is if that’s what you want to do,” he quickly added not wanting to overstep but Quinn was the one to offer it....

As the door opened Sam felt his palm start to sweat slightly. This was crazy. Like he shouldn’t be this nervous around Quinn. But this was all new. They had hung out before but never alone like this. He did however wear his bright smile when he saw her on the other side of the door. She looked cute out of her Cheerios uniform, it wasn’t like he hadn’t seen her with it on but it was rare. “Hey,” he said easily to the petite blonde feeling a little more at ease seeing her.
Sam wrinkled his eyebrows at first when Quinn motioned to his shoes. What was she...? “Oh. Right.” He obviously wasn’t used to have to take his shoes off in people’s houses. It wasn’t like his parents or anyone in his family made him do that. He bent down and undid the laces of his converse. They look oddly out of place next to the door and the few other pairs of shoes that were there. “Oh okay cool. That was a good call. It’s probably better not to make a mess in your parents kitchen,” he said with a small smile.
“Yeah, yeah it was easy. I never really come onto this side of town though.” Why would he? It wasn’t like any of their other friends lived around here or anyone Sam knew. Sam followed her into the kitchen and couldn’t help but feel amazed at out big and spacious it was. Also super clean, like not just clean but like overly clean. “Water would be great,” he answered but before letting her go he took her hand a squeezed it. He wanted the awkward tension to stop between them. It wasn’t who they were. “I’m really glad you invited me over tonight, Q.” he said still holding her hand giving her a big smile.

What was Sam Evans doing going over to Quinn Fabray’s house? Even Sam himself couldn’t really figure out the answer to that question. Ever since Quinn and Finn broke up Sam had some how managed to sneak his way into Quinn’s heart. He liked to think it was his southern charm and good looks that made her like him. But going to her house was a whole new level.
They had gone out a few times, sure. But it was like they met at breadstix or the movies or something. Sam knew Quinn’s parents’ would forbid him from coming over. He was not the right kind of guy for their daughter. He wasn’t rich, or smart or anything like that. But he was a good guy, and caring and happen to be crazy for Quinn.
So now he sat there for a second across from Quinn’s driveway trying to build the courage to go in. It was fine. This was fine. They would have dinner, watch a movie and then who knew what but as long as he was with Quinn everything would be okay. He fixed his hair one last time before getting up the courage to go knock on her door.
Dinner
If there was one thing Quinn Fabray couldn’t do it was cooking. Her grandmother had tried time and time again to instill even the basics in her mind, but it never stuck. Quinn could boil water and that was about all she could do successfully. It was not like it was a big deal. There was plenty of take out places available even in a place as small as Lima.
At least her parents were out of town or should be for the weekend. For once she could invite Sam over to her place instead of them having to find somewhere else to go. Her parents just wouldn’t understand. They had a list of acceptable dates for their youngest daughter and Sam Evans was certainly not even a consideration. People in Lima were not going anywhere and for the life of them, they could not understand why Quinn did not want to go to a private school where there were better people to associate with.
So when she heard Sam’s truck in the driveway, she did one last check in the mirror before going to answer the door. There was nothing else to do with the movies picked out, the food ordered, and everything else was all set.

Sam wasn’t worried, Lyra had her entire life to figure out what she liked and didn’t like. “I hope she becomes an astronaut that’d be so cool,” he said with a laugh. “But like really one of our kids has to have a somewhat normal job right? Aria is going to be some form of an artist and if Cadence doesn’t end up in sports everything I know is a lie,” he joked but it would be pretty shocking. But then again their girls were all still young and could change interests a thousand times over before they were even close to being adults.
When Quinn said she would need to find someone to illustrate her book, Sam just wrinkled his eyebrows. “Why wouldn’t you just have Aria do it?” he asked. It seemed like the obvious answer to him. Their daughter was a great drawer and Sam was sure she could easily illustrate anything Quinn needed. “That’d be kind of cool you know. Like a mother-daughter book.” Maybe Sam was just being biased but he’d buy the heck out of that book.
“I think you’re right,” Sam said seeing all three girls were starting to slow down and look pretty tired. “C’mon maybe we should all head in and warm up before we get too cold and wet.” That was kind of the last thing Sam wanted. He didn’t need any of the four of them to be grumpy tonight. It would make for a long evening. “I’ll make everyone hot chocolate.”

Sam laughed and shook his head. “Nope, I don’t want to be the one getting involved in that.” As much as Sam felt like Cadence should branch out and have other interests they both already knew that conversation wasn’t going to fly. “I mean if she’s happy I guess we can’t complain too much. It’s not like she’s doing something harmful or illegal,” he teased. “She won’t I’m sure. She’s going to be the next Michael Phelps if she keeps going at this rate,” he joked. Sam did have to admit it was really nice to be able to go to a sporting event and cheer one of his daughters on. With Aria, it was always recitals and people wouldn’t be too happy if he started screaming for her in the middle of it. He loved watching Aria perform but it was nice to have a balance between the two of them. “Now Lyra just needs to figure out what she likes.” And maybe their youngest daughter would never be as passionate about one thing like her sisters and that was okay too.
“A book for like little kids?” Sam asked curiously. Really he had never thought about Quinn writing anything other than like novels and whatnot. It was what she was good at but artists did tend to branch out and try new things. He figured she’d be great at it. Quinn was always making up stories to tell their girls when they were younger. “I could see you doing a book for younger kids. Like a really cute picture book,” he said with a smile and shrug. “It might be nice to step away from the young adult books for a bit. Or you could write an adult book. Just don’t make it too steamy,” he teased but ultimately he could see Quinn writing like mysteries or murders or something. She was such a great writer he wasn’t worried. “Is there one you’re leaning more towards?? he asked.
It didn’t take long for Sam to feel Lyra jump on top of him as well. He couldn’t help but laugh and try to grab snow to throw at the three girls while also trying to stand up in order to not get soaking wet. “Cloud definitely had the right idea,” he said dodging more snow that was being thrown his way. “I think it’s safe to say these Georgia girls do enjoy a little bit of snow,” he commented grinning. Now, if they moved to where it snowed all the time that would be a different story but he was glad they were enjoying themselves.

“No, no no, I think you should definitely teach her,” Sam said with a laugh. Quinn was way better at skating than Sam was ever going to be or would ever dream of being. Plus Cadence was going to be tough to convince, especially if she was terrible at it. “We do need to open her up to more things. Swimming is great and all but she needs to branch out into other things.” Like Aria loved drawing and music and dance and while Sam didn’t want Cadence to be interested in those things per se, he did want her to branch out a bit.
“You are a better cuddler than I am,” he teased with a laugh of his own. “I mean you did teach me how to cuddle back in the day.” Not that Sam really had to ‘learn’ but Quinn helped him get better at it. She wasn’t ever afraid to tell him when she felt uncomfortable or that he had to move his arm or something. “How’s the book coming along?” He hadn’t heard too much about it and considering they were on vacation Sam figured Quinn wouldn’t work on it. The only time she would have a chance is early in the morning before the girls were up and Quinn never woke up early.
It was only a matter of time before the snowball war was going to start, but Sam didnt think it was going to happen so soon. “No no stop,” Sam said with a laugh as he was getting hit with snowballs in from three directions. “Go after mommy not me,” he said still laughing but before he could even grab more snow Cadence had jumped on his back and followed by Aria which obviously brought them all tumbling down.

“Aria and Lyra definitely won’t want to stay out long.” That much Sam knew. The girls would get a kick out of sledding and doing whatever else but eventually they would get cold. It would be Cadence who would want to stay out all day and never complain. Sam laughed already hearing their middle daughter’s excuse why she couldn’t skate. “I think she may be afraid of being bad at it, Q.” Aria was bound to be good at skating. Something about the gracefulness of dance definitely had to translate over to ice skating. Lyra was young enough to still have the kiddie skates that were much easier to use. And then there was Cadence. “She’s definitely going to be like me when it comes to skating. She’ll end up right on her butt,” Sam said with a grin. It was funny because he knew their daughter wouldn’t get hurt just her ego. It might be good for her to get knocked down a peg though.
“Quinn we can’t get a bigger bed. I think king size is plenty big enough,” he joked shaking his head. If they got a bigger bed they wouldn’t have any other room in their bedroom. Although, Sam felt like Quinn wouldn’t hate that. Even still she always loved being in bed. “Oh, they are the worst. Cloud will not move no matter what. And he’ll never push you out of the bed. Only me,” he said with a laugh. Their old pup loved cuddling with Quinn too much but so did Sam which made it hard.
It was kind of sad that Sam couldn’t remember the last time they sat down for a proper dinner together. Surely it had to before the school year started or one random Sunday they all had free. Anyways it was rare. “I dunno. That’s nuts to think about though.” Sam missed their time as a family. “I mean soon Aria is also going to be off to college and then family dinners are going to be really rare.” Sam hated thinking about their baby girl leaving them. He knew it was inevitable but he wanted to hold off thinking about it a little bit longer.
It was then he felt a snowball hit his back which caused him to turn around. He was surprised to see their youngest daughter standing there grinning about him. “What did you do?” he asked the little girl with a laugh still slightly shocked it had been Lyra to throw a snowball first. “Come here,” he said as he started chasing after the little girl knowing soon enough Aria and Cadence would start throwing their share of snowballs too.

Quinn didn’t need to say that again. They all knew if Cadence was miserable it would be a long night. It was better to head off any issues with their middle child before they could even occur. “Tell you what, how about we do a double hat and glove check when we get outside? Just to make sure one of them isn’t pulling a fast one on us.” Sam didn’t care if their daughters’ kicked and screamed they were all getting their hats and gloves on and that was that.
Sam just shook his head matter a factly as if he was serious. “No I won’t,” he teased again. “You’re crazy if you think you’re going to get to snuggle with me anyways,” he joked. “With our three girls, I’ll probably get kicked out of the bed.” It wasn’t unheard of for Sam to find all four of his girls cuddling in his in Quinn’s bed. At night though it wasn’t too bad. Though Lyra did tend to come and sneak into bed with them still and on the rare occasion so did Cadence. “Oh, it’s better to drink hot chocolate? Forget about any cuddles you might have had,” he quipped back. “You ready to go join them?”
“Tomorrow is definitely going to be lazy. I think it’s supposed to snow anyway.” The girls may like the snow right now but Sam doubted they would like to be outside when it was actually snowing. Tomorrow would be a day full of not getting out pajamas and watching movies Sam figured. “Cadence might do just that,” he said with a laughing knowing that exactly what she would do. “I’m crossing my fingers that she will actually surprise us and just enjoy the downtime.” It would be a first and probably nearly impossible for the busy daughter to do unless she was sick. But Sam could dream.

Sam couldn’t help himself but laugh as he heard Quinn’s call out to their girls. For himself and Quinn, it seemed like a no brainer to get geared up for the snow and really Aria too. But Cadence and Lyra really hadn’t spent too much time in it. “Aria can you please make sure Lyra is bundled up?” Really the last thing they needed was for her to get sick.
“They definitely didn’t hear any of it,” Sam said with a laugh before leaning over to give Quinn a kiss on the cheek. “They’ll be fine. If not they will quickly realize they should have dressed warmer. But really Cadence is the one we have to worry about,” he said shaking his head. Cadence was always the one they had to worry about. But Aria didn’t like the cold and Lyra didn’t either. Cadence would try to be tough and say she didn’t need a hat or something.
“You better make sure you’re dressed warm too,” Sam warned teasingly reaching for his own scarf and hat. “I’m not warming you up no matter how much you beg,” he said with a playful grin putting his head on. “Oh, they will be out like a light tonight. They aren’t even prepared for how tired they are going to be. Running up around in the snow is no easy task,” he said with a chuckle shaking his head.
Winter
“Make sure you put your boots on!” Quinn yelled knowing that it should be obvious, but kids weren’t always good about such things. Their girls weren’t used to there being snow on the ground. Back home, if they even got a dusting of the stuff life came to a screeching halt. Georgia did not know how to deal with the snow, not like they did in the north.
Truthfully, the girls were excited and Quinn could already see the forgotten clothes scattered about the floor. “That includes gloves and hats!” The last thing she wanted was for them to go home with three sick children. Lyra was tiny enough she would be susceptible to catching something from the exposure to the cold.
“Do you think they heard anything I said?” Quinn asked Sam with a laugh. His guess was as good as her own when it came to that matter. Then again, Sam was a big kid himself, it was likely Quinn would have to remind him to make sure he had proper clothing on. “They’ll be tired enough to sleep later though, that’s for sure.”

Sam knew it was best to drop the New York subject. Everybody knew how Quinn felt about Rachel. And what was really going to happen, Sam had no idea. He would figure it out. Maybe he’d live somewhere else, maybe he wouldn’t even go to New York. He hadn’t talked to his parents about it... And he was still waiting to hear from colleges. “You know I might not even end up there. Like I applied to University of Tennessee and like the Ohio State...” He might end up there. That wouldn’t be so bad... Sam could study there and he had family in Tennessee so it would work perfectly.
“She might if she likes him,” Sam said with a shrug. It was way more common for girls to ask guys out now. “But then again would you have asked a guy out at that age?” They were still young and Sam wasn’t sure any girls would have asked him out when they were that old. “Yeah yeah I know. It’s good I won’t be around when Stacey starts dating,” he said with a chuckle. Even Sam knew he was a bit protective when it came to his sister. Nobody would be good enough for her. And they better not hurt her. But he wasn’t dumb. Stacey would date one day just like how Stevie was going to start soon. It was only natural. “My parents are really chill about it though.” That was something really nice about his parents. They rarely freaked about things. They were strict when they needed to be but mostly they were just there to remind them to make good decisions and to ground them when they didn’t.
Wow. “Now that sounds like you doubt my skills, Fabray,” he teased with a laugh. “I’ll knock them down don’t you worry. Just like we’re going to win the championship this year. Just you wait and see.” On both accounts. Sam wanted to win so bad this year. It was their last chance after all. Sam placed the money down on the counter and took the three baseballs from the guy. “You better start picking out which prize you want,” Sam said rolling out his shoulder and giving Quinn a grin. He turned back and stared at the bottle before throwing one of the balls. It barely missed. “That was a warm-up,” he teased.

“I was thinking of living with Kurt and Blaine I couldn’t afford anything on my own.” It may be a little weird at first but he was really close with Blaine so it wouldn’t be so bad right? “I think Rachel would live with us too though...” Sam didn’t necessarily love Rachel or hate her. She kind of just was. He knew how Quinn felt about her and he got that but he always thought it was more of a girl thing. “I dunno we’ll have to see.” A lot of the details Sam wasn’t super sure of but he knew it would all come together in the end.
Sam laughed himself and nodded. “Yep. Little Stevie is growing up,” he said with a small smile. It was kind of scary to think about considering it felt like him and Stacey were still babies sometimes. But Sam was excited to see Stevie grow up at the same time. “Yeah, she goes to church. Little brunette girl who’s family tends to sit more towards the back. I think she has a little sister,” he said with a shrug. “That’s true but I feel for him. It’s scary asking someone out,” he said. Even now it was terrifying. Sure no wasn’t the worst thing in the world but rejection of any kind of was never easy.
“Games sound good to me,” he said with a small standing up with Quinn. “I’m surprised nobody is here.” Well nobody from school. It was kind of nice though. “Let’s do...Hmmm,” Sam looked around digging his hands deep in his jacket pockets looking at the games. “I’m not too bad at the milk bottle game. Let’s do that,” he said with a smile. “That way I can actually win your stuffed animal,” he said teasingly bumping into Quinn with his shoulder playfully.

What was in New York? That was a good question. If Sam were being completely honest, he didn’t one hundred percent know. He didn’t want to stay in Ohio by himself though. Well, of course, his family would still be there but if his friends weren’t there then what was the point. “I dunno Q. I just want something different. I’d figure out something.” That much he was sure. And if I could live with all their friends, there really was no harm in going even if it was only for a few months. “Plus I’ll be closer to you at school,” he said raising an eyebrow. They both knew that would be nice. They couldn’t go too long without seeing each other. They never had been able to, even as kids.
Quinn’s answer just made Sam smile. He liked to think they both would never let significant others get in the way of their friendship. If it would really happen, he wasn’t sure, but for now, this was enough.”Yeah but like I don’t ever want to get in the way of you dating a guy Q. I guess unless he is a jerk then that’s a different story,” he joked shaking his head. But they had never really had to deal with either of them having a true boyfriend or girlfriend. They’ve both been on dates but nothing too serious. Sam imagined it was definitely going to change somethings. “Then a big stuffed animal you will get,” he promised with a grin. That much he could do.
“I guess you’re probably pretty used to it from cheering but still it’s scary,” he said with a laugh. Sam did hate it when Quinn was one of the girls getting thrown around during Cheerio routines. He knew he was great at it, but still, one wrong move and things could quickly become a disaster. Sam took a bite of his fried dough and nodded and shrugged. “Good I think. He likes it. He’s better at school than I am,” he said with a small chuckle, but Stevie was a smart kid. “He’s nervous about the school dance coming up though. I think he wants to ask a girl to it,” he said with another laugh remembering how scary and weird middle school was. Sam really didn’t miss it. But then again who did?

Sam fought his hardest not to roll his eyes but ultimately couldn’t help himself. “Really, Quinn?” he asked raising an eyebrow not even knowing how she could possibly believe that.”No matter what you’re getting into school.” Like maybe not Yale but Sam highly doubted she wouldn’t at least be considered. “If not Yale than there’s Dartmouth, and Brown, and Harvard, and Princeton, and Columbia,” he said with a small smile trying to get her to do the same. “I’ve been thinking about trying to go to New York with Rachel and Kurt and Blaine,” he admitted softly. Sam wasn’t sure they had ever talked about what he was going to do after graduation. Maybe he’d end up at Ohio State but like school just wasn’t his thing...”I dunno, Q I see you with a family,” he said again with a shrug. Maybe it would happen, maybe it wouldn’t, but Sam knew Quinn wasn’t about to spend her life alone that was for sure.
“I mean of course until like you get a boyfriend or whatever,” he said softly. Maybe Sam shouldn’t have brought it up, but this was a fear of his. Like most people didn’t understand their relationship and like were their partners in the future going to be cool with it? Probably not. Well, of course, they would always be friends, best friends. But it wasn’t like they would get to spend tons of time alone and whatnot. It just wasn’t how life worked. “Alright, alright I’ll see what I can do,” he promised with a laugh knowing he was going to have to win the biggest stuffed animal now or Quinn was never going to let him live it down.
At her words, Sam just squinted and shook his head. “That seems terrifying. I’d be so afraid of you like breaking your neck or something.” Then again Sam didn’t like heights so of course acrobats would never appeal to him. Quinn didn’t have to tell him twice they always people watched when they were in public places together. Easily, Sam reached over to take some of her cotton candy before offering her some of his fried dough. “Looks like you have a few admirers. Or I do,” he teased motioning towards a small group of boys looking their way.

That answer really shouldn’t have surprised Sam and well it didn’t. Of course, Quinn had already sent in her application. He just gave her a big smile because honestly, he was super proud of her already even if she had only just applied. There was no way she wasn’t going to get in. “Why didn’t you didn’t you tell me that you had applied?” he asked honestly wanting to know why she wouldn’t have just told him. Sam figured there had to be a good reason, he wasn’t even upset or anything just curious. “Well we’re going to have to celebrate once you get in,” Sam promised with a smile knowing that was going to be the case. Quinn just had to get in. “One day you’d probably want it Q but like after adventuring and traveling and stuff,” he said with a shrug. Sam saw that kind of a life for Quinn. One where she was successful, had a great career and then started her family.’
“Yessss we have to,” Sam retorted back not skipping a beat. He knew Quinn was going to give him lip about it but it was something Sam always liked doing. “It’ll be fun, Q. It’s a tradition when we come to festivals we have to go on the Ferris Wheel. And besides how many more festivals are we going to go together?” he asked not trying to make the night gloom or anything but it was inevitable to think about. “Think I can. I know I can win at least one,” he said easily with a smirk. Sam was confident he could win he might spend a least twenty bucks trying to do so but he’d do it.
Sam laughed as they got in line for their cotton candy and fried dough. “Oh geez I had forgotten about that,” he said with a big smile. “Hmmm yeah probably. That or like one of the guys that run the games,” he said with a shrug. When it was their turn in line her order their food, plus a couple of waters and pulled out his wallet to pay. When it came to paying Quinn and him always seemed to switch off so he was never bothered by it. “I could see you being like a ringmaster or something,” he said with a laugh but Quinn was a good leader after all. “Everybody would listen to you,” he pointed out handing her the cotton candy.
