LEAVES Oh, watch 'em close above and below. Upon the branchlets, scattered on the floor. They are the messengers of season and time, Green, red, yellow, orange and lime.
They come in all shape, they come in all size. Their blades, their veins, summon our wandering eyes
Geometry is but their realm of invent From which our ken of shapes descent. Palmate, Pinnate, Deltoid, Ovate Truncate, Cordate, Subulate
It is they who drape our earth in colour They evoke wanderlust in us, a desire to holler.
They make summer's green, They make autumn's yellow, But winters are bare, For they aren't there.
