Tarrant Hightopp x reader comfort headcanons

When you try to talk to him, after the argument with his father, he's too stubborn to really open up about it. Similar to how he was with Alice, he tries to change the topic. Despite this though, if you continue to pry he may crack a little bit. Once you show him it’s okay for him to be vulnerable with you, he’s literally wrapped around your finger from then on

As he gets older and his whole world pretty much falls to ruin, he likes to remember the good things from the past, but alas, it only makes him long for a better present and future more.

When stumbling upon you, crying, he’s..not sure of what to do. Listen, Tarrant can be awkward depending on the situation, but he knows when it’s time to be serious, and this is one of those times.

It’s a very emotional moment, he gives you a shoulder to cry on and if you don’t want to reveal all that has happened then that’s okay, but he is persistent in trying to distract you from the bad situation.

When/if he manages to make you smile or laugh he’d say:

“My dear, that smile looks lovely on you. Please never lose it.”

GENERAL RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS WITH TARRANT HIGHTOPP (Mad Hatter):

Tarrant is a talker, he’ll rant your ear off if you let him. If you told him to tone it down he would, but only for a few minutes before he forgets that you told him that and starts up again. I also think it’s a possibility he talks in his sleep as well.

He likes cheek kisses more than mouth kisses but he doesn’t mind them, he’s very polite and always asks before he gives any physical affection as well.

Dates usually include tea parties or romantic dinners, and he’ll always be able to find a topic to talk about. This guy never runs out of things to say.

He may have some outbursts or sad episodes but he’d never hurt you, though I think he may say something he doesn’t mean when he’s in that state.
