Even after all of this time, I still believe that Lydia never read that “holding your breath stops a panic attack.” I believe Lydia acted on impulse; she knew kissing him could help. She did it so quickly, she didn’t even have time to think. But I think the kiss surprised her. She wasn’t expecting to feel what she felt. She even keeps her eyes closed. And then opens them with a surprised look. If it was only platonic and “clinical,” then she wouldn’t have faltered. The kiss nonplussed her. She’s smart enough to come up with a story that sounds true based off of research. She thought quick because maybe she didn’t want him to know how she felt in that moment. And when he says “that was really smart,” she makes this expression that I always thought was telling. That’s not what she wanted him to say. She fooled him; not herself. That’s not truly why she kissed him. He might not know that, still doesn’t seasons later, but I think it’s always stayed with her. And after that, I feel like she’s always looked at Stiles In a different light. Like the song says, “it’s like the sun came out.” I hope at some point, the truth comes out about their first kiss. Because it was real. Very real.

sometimes I just cannot believe this episode exists. I wasn’t in the fandom when it premiered (I started watching last year) but I just can’t imagine what it felt like to see that for the first time and freak out about it on tumblr with everyone else

that episode is the kind of thing you read in a book and you imagine it and imagine it but that’s all you get, you don’t actually get to see it but we CAN. I can’t think of another tv show with something like this. him trying to save her the entire episode and her relief when she sees him. her screaming loud enough to shatter windows and him STILL lunging over here to keep her from getting hurt. and he held her through that entire Jeep ride even when she made his ears bleed. and he thinks he’s lost her and when she finally breathes again UGH
