Mila isn't the only one in Provence House feeling the love.

Yes, even her 70 something grandfather, Giuseppe, got the courage to ask out Irene Laurent on a date.

I personally think it went perfectly.

And even though it's been forty years, old, hermit, grumpy, retired sailor Giuseppe's still got the moves.

First date with local celebrity soccer player and playboy Don Lothario is surprisingly lowkey.

Okay, I'll admit he's starting to grow on me.

Even if everyone in Tartosa says he's a horrible bachelor who kicks puppies for a living.

Even still, Mila can't help but think he's hiding something.

Chapter One: Provence House pt. 18

After a day of swimming with her friends, Don walks Mila home and she feels super nervous to confess that she feels more than just casual about him.

Mind you, Mila is never nervous, but with the local horror stories about him being a playboy pro soccer player, how else is she to feel?

Luckily, after she confesses, Don admits that he feels the same and asks her to be his girlfriend! Everything works out really well.

Too well.

Nothing like summer swims with your friends in Tartosa.

At least, that's what Carmen and Lucia and Fetia all say to Mila as they convince her to join them.

Of course, Mila invites Don to tag along, and the two have been really hitting it off.

Chapter One: Provence House pt. 16

It's a Sunday, so Giuseppe decides to invite a local family, the Laurents, over for lunch to meet his granddaughter.

Mila thinks they're lovely and warm company, though she can't help but wonder if Giuseppe might have the smallest crush on the family's widowed matriarch, Irene.

Chapter One: Provence House pt. 15

Mila has been working at Seaside Bistro for weeks as a barista, so when her manager mentions that there's an open spot for live music on the weekends, she jumps at the opportunity to play music there.

This is what she really wants to be doing, playing her music live at venues, so maybe with additional skills like bartending and being a barista, Mila can make it work.

Mila.

Mila get out of the hot tub.

Mila do not trust anyone by the name Don Lothario.

Oh boy. I would say I warned her, but she's just as much of a red flag as he is.

It's a room full of partygoers but Don seems to only have eyes for Mila.

Could this be his playboy infatuation talking, or does he genuinely like her?

Only time (and the gossiping grapevine of Tartosa) will tell.

Chapter One: Provence House pt. 12

As always, Carmen is stopping by Mila's grandfather's house just to let her know about a party she's going to later that she wants Mila to join.

Nothing out of the ordinary about that.

What is out of the ordinary, is Don passing by her house just before she's about to head out to said party.

Naturally, Mila invites him to go with her.

Balancing Tartosa's nightlife with friends and work at Seaside Bistro is tedious, but Mila is getting the hang of it.

So long as she can nap when she gets home.

Mila gets drinks for her friends and Don, and the night is probably her favorite so far since arriving in Tartosa.

Even when her friends are on the dance floor, Mila and Don spend the whole night talking and Mila tells him about her hometown, San Sequoia.

Okay maybe they did a little dancing.

Chapter One: Provence House pt. 9

Summer working in Tartosa isn't so bad, when Mila has an awesome coworker slash new best friend, Carmen inviting her to all the local parties.

She was so shocked that Don (the guy she met at the beach with Carmen the other day) (who happens to be a local celebrity) was somehow at the same party.

They both laugh it off, but if you ask me, it seems like he was manifesting for her to be there.

Okay, so maybe Mila was getting ahead of herself when she said her job was starting to feel easy.

She's actually so cute even when she's mad (which is all the time) I love her sm.

Chapter One: Provence House pt. 7

Mila and Carmen hangout for the first time outside of work, and it seems to be going swimmingly! (no pun intended)

She definitely does not expect for Carmen to tap her shoulder and say that local legend slash pro soccer player slash playboy, Don Lothario, is ogling them from the shore.

Carmen urges Mila to go talk to him, so she does. (Although being not from Tartosa, she's not quite sure why he's famous.)

He has a brash personality quite similar to her own, so Mila has no complaints when he suggests swapping numbers to stay in touch.

Mila's been doing better in her first week of barista training at Seaside Bistro, and it helps that her coworkers are super nice.

Carmen approaches Mila during her shift and knows that Mila is new to town and all, so she invites her to go to the beach after they get off work.

Who is Mila to refuse?

While he's been a recluse since his son left Tartosa 20 years ago, Giuseppe can't deny that getting to spend time with his granddaughter for the first time ever is really nice.

Meanwhile Mila is starting to get back into playing guitar for the first time since she left university.

She's a bit rusty.

Mila's first day working at Seaside Bistro might just be a little rocky.

After all, she grew up working as a hostess in her family's restaurant, she's never worked a day as a barista in her life.

You can definitely tell.

Luckily her coworkers, Carmen and Lucia, are really friendly and understanding. Hopefully she can have some friends here to spend the summer with!
