also you can talk to me about how many korean’s hate my drawing but for every one who hates it i’d had at least an equal amount of korean’s message me and thank me for my depiction of her. and that means far more to me than people who are mad because i didn’t adhere to eurocentric beauty standards that they have unfortunately been taught are the be all end all of beauty. 

the way i draw d.va is almost exactly like a korean girl i knew in high school and was friends with! she had smaller eyes, a wide nose, big lips, brown skin, and the biggest smile that i had ever seen in my life and why shouldn’t she be represented? she immigrated right from south korea to go to my school, she spoke korean, she wrote korean, all her things were from korea, and ate korean food… you’re telling me she’s not korean because she doesn’t look like the koreans we see in k-pop groups? or in k-dramas? or on instagram? she was 100% korean and deserves to be represented and I’m more than happy to represent her and other koreans who look like her. whether they’re from south korea or america or canada or europe. 

human beings are diverse and they’re beautiful and when we can all finally realize that race is a social construct and that it was only created to oppress those that look different from us, that’s when humanity is truly going to flourish.

Draw the buddy

Use a transformation tool

fill it up like a baloon not forgetting some things cover others

Keep going! That way you keep your proportions right, etc

And don’t forget references for the angles

My first shot at creating a sort of tutorial/guide, telling how I do things. On this initial chapter we’re going over the handy matter of Hands. Not meaning to be an encyclopedic explanation, only showing my own methods and self-taught clues. Hoping somebody finds it useful! :3 I’ll do more if this one is received well. So let me know~
