ok i’m finally gonna admit that i… for the life of me dont understand indoor x outdoor cat discourse?? does outdoor cat imply that they leave the cat outside and don’t allow it to come inside at all?? cause my cats live inside my house, sure, but they go out all the time. and it’s not exactly something we have any control over. one of my cats isn’t in any condition to go out cause she’s older and suffered an accident back during the pandemic, so she simply… doesn’t go out. the cats manage themselves. is there something i’m missing??

why do people think house cats, like domesticated cats, are “meant” to live outside? like genuinely i do not understand how or why they believe cats should be outdoors. domesticated dogs aren’t meant to live outdoors, and people seem to understand that, but they don’t understand that cats are the same? they’re domesticated. they literally domesticated themselves in order to NOT live outside. why are you leaving your cats outside??

Brain fog so bad rn but I was thinking of how Nicole and Jecka would be riding together in Jecka’s old sedan on a cold winter day. They were hanging out over winter break and ended up going to mall like all teenagers do.

But once they’re ready to head home, the car stops working. They’re snowed in, and the storm seems to be getting worse. Luckily, Jecka had extra blankets in her car for situations like these. Meanwhile, Nicole doesn’t seem to mind that she’s stuck in a car with Jecka aside from the fact she’ll probably freeze her ass off. Better than going back home—and Jecka seems to think the same way.

They’re smoking in the car and Jecka doesn’t care that the smoke will leave a lasting smell inside. That’s future Jecka’s problem. But when smoking doesn’t seem to make them feel any warmer, Jecka suggests sticking together for additional body heat with the blankets piled on top of them.

Nicole is against it at first because “it sounds gay” but Jecka says she sounds like Kylar now which gets Nicole to go along with it. Fuck being compared to a dumbass like Kylar.

So, once they decide to head to the backseats and wrap all the blankets around themselves, they start to feel a bit warmer than earlier. They’re huddled up in the backseats, and Jecka can’t help but think she’s in some Christmas romcom where the main character and their love interest are stuck together in the cold and forced to cuddle to keep warm. Whatever, it’s not gay, it’s just for convenience.

They don’t say much the rest of the night, but when Jecka looks at Nicole, she’s already looking back at her. Is this a gay moment or is Jecka high off something? Instead, Nicole wordlessly just tucks her head under Jecka’s, saying something about how it feels much warmer in her new position.

They end up falling asleep in the car, and it’s one of the few nights both feel safe and sound.
