Original spec was for a simple living room PC that became a gaming rig. It worked at idle but became a fire breathing machine when playing a game. 😂 🤷♂️ https://www.instagram.com/p/ClUeyCSLwzM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

537FPS @ 1080P? Sweet! No overheating or screaming fans. Mid-range PC build. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Vermeer (Zen 3) / AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Enough for Assetto Corsa and mods. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClTwrh8rD7J/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Getting some baseline temps while Steam/Assetto Corsa is open. Not active playing and with an open case. What I want to know is if it can handle the location I want it to be in. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClSB0JMrhI8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Oh crud I can see it now. Space constraints and wire management will be a nightmare. A 150mm psu and/or skipping the AIO cooler will make this easier. But I enjoy torture. 😂 https://www.instagram.com/p/ClNqlFOuURY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Two more components arriving tomorrow and I don’t have to go to work! 😬 I could have shaved off about $150 by using cheaper components like on the PSU and M.2 SSD but I could resist a good deal on better components. :) The case on the other hand had to be a specific size so I chose the Meshroom S for a smaller form factor and open mesh cooling. Why green? Because I was able to shave off an extra $15 off compare to the gray or blue color. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClKJgpope9I/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

PC power supply arrived today. How old am I? The last time I handled one, there were a bunch of multicolored wires sticking out of the side, gray tin can color only, and they usually come with the cheap case. Probably 200 watts max? 🤷♂️ I didn’t care before. 😆 Now it has modular connectors (neat!), comes in cool black, 80+ efficiency, quiet levitating magnetic fan, and a ten-year warranty! Multicolored LEDs optional. Cool! https://www.instagram.com/p/ClFesmJjAZB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I drove a Porsche 962 C Long Tail at Brands Hatch and I like it! What I don’t like is running Assetto Corsa (NOT Competizione) which was designed for the PS4, on a PS5. Clunky, missing features but for some reason the force feedback is more enjoyable than Assetto Corsa Competizione on PS5. More than likely I just need to tinker with the settings. . . . #assettocorsa #ps5 #console #simracing https://www.instagram.com/p/ClE-o2hpY0p/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

More parts arrived today for the PC build. This is the first time I’m using AMD. The ITX motherboard is smaller than the triple fan GPU, I had to re-check the specs of the PC case to make sure it will fit! https://www.instagram.com/p/ClCzE51jN6q/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Next component to arrive - memory modules. Get 16gb for most computers, 32gb for gaming computers. That’s my opinion anyway. I maxed out memory in the past (>64GB) and never even used half of it. Thinking of previous component failures, memory seems to go bad more than other components therefor warranty is important. I remember having issues with a Corsair desktop memory module. They had me run a test, I submitted the results and they replaced it. I found out where I bought the Samsung memory for the Mac Mini but I could not find a way to obtain warranty for it. Besides, tests didn’t give me an error so I’ll chuck this as a learning experience. Avoid Samsung memory. lol This one I got is from Silicon Power based in Taiwan. I found a way to register for warranty so that’s a good sign. Why not Corsair? Because this one is cheaper and I had allocate funds to a more important part of the build to stay on budget. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck__ChBLVYQ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

And so it begins! It is customary to build a computer when you get your first paycheck. Okay, I made that up but we NEED a computer in the living room! 🥶 The first component to arrive, an AIO cooler… the least part my build needs. It’s not a behemoth system that needs extra cooling — but the price of this cooler was irresistible! AIO averaged $80 and above for a good one… this one is $39.99!!! Well, after the mail-in rebate which I hope I don’t forget to submit. Let me know if you’re interested where to get one. The system I’ll build won’t be the latest and greatest. But it will need some help on cooling based on the size of the unit, and where it will be located. Stay tuned. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck4uoMCDC3D/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Mac Mini 2018 acting up for the last few months. Even Apple could not find anything wrong with it. I remembered I upgraded the memory when we first got it. Maybe that’s what was wrong with it? Nothing came out unusual with any tests. I switched it today anyway before I use this Mac Mini as a Frisbee and upgrade to that luscious M1 chip-equipped Mac Mini. 🤞 @ifixit tools are very handy! I’ve used it from small electronics, phones, computers, and even on the Tesla! https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck4OtsNrZHw/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
