❛❛ 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭, 𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐦𝐢𝐧 . . . ❜❜ her voice was calm, but not soft. smooth in the way of something sharp that hasn’t drawn blood yet. she began to circle him slowly, the faintest smirk on her lips, the air around her electric with something unsaid. every movement was deliberate, measured. but it wasn’t dominance she chased, it was understanding. she watched him. his breath, his eyes, the subtle flicker of his fingers like they were trying to say something before he could. but he didn’t flinch. didn’t shift. not even when she paused behind him long enough for the tension to stretch tight. ❛❛ 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 . . . ❜❜ her voice curved around him, teasing, thoughtful. she stepped back into view, her head tilted, one finger tapping lazily against her bottom lip as if she were trying to puzzle him out — or pretending to.

another click from his camera cut the silence. it almost made her laugh. still so composed. still so… curious. it wasn’t the first time he looked at her through that lens with that expression. but this time, she decided, it would be the last where she didn’t know what it meant. there was a flicker in her eyes now. darker. more dangerous. not rage, not even fear, it was doubt. and maemi hated doubt. hated not knowing. he wasn’t afraid. and she didn’t like how that threw her off balance. one step closer. then two. then three. his breath brushing hers now, his back inching toward the wall as she silently led. four — a dull thud. no more space. without a word, she reached for the dagger hidden in the soft strap at her thigh, drawing it slowly, as if giving him time to think. the moonlight caught its edge, silver and gleaming. she brought it up between them, not in threat, in invitation, and let the tip kiss the underside of his jaw. not to wound. not to hurt. just to feel it’s presence. ❛❛ 𝐬𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐨𝐧, ❜❜ she murmured, tilting her head again, eyes glinting. ❛❛ 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐰. 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝. ❜❜
