LET ME JUST SAY - I absolutely love what they did with Groose's theme in Skyward Sword. Like for the scenes where Groose is the main focus they used his theme but arranged it to how Groose feels at the time.

The first time you hear his theme is when Groose is acting all arrogant and brash and you feel that swagger through the music too.

Then the confidence drops when he gets chastised by Zelda for picking on Link. (Also, did they reuse the sound effect at the beginning for BotW cooking??? HAHA)

And when he lands on the surface, the music is full of amazement, wonder, and hesitancy...

And when he accepts that he isn't the hero and is of more use at the Sealed Temple, his theme plays and it's emotional and SOOO melodramatic. But that's how you can tell in that underneath the brave face he is putting on he is upset about it and will come around eventually.

I think the composers did a great job of helping the player understand Groose's character transformation throughout the game by doing this.

There are more examples in the game (like when he is flustered by Zelda, or his spectacular fall to the surface) but anyways here is one of my favorites. This plays when Groose first comes to the surface and declares it Grooseland. The whimsy slowly being warped by Groose's delusions as being the main character lol.

To play as? I find most of them fun to play as except the Great Fairies and Hestu--for the same reasons, too big, too annoying--and I have to be in a mood for Riju. I played Age of Calamity before most of the original Hyrule Warriors so when I decided to try Skull Kid (co-op with my partner) he warned me that the boy travels a lot during standard attacks so I made him try Riju in response. Boy, did he ever dislike that experience.

just wanna say as someone who's Aboriginal that I think First Nations peoples have every right to be a little angry at white leftists (NOT Palestinians, people blaming Palestinians stfu) who ignored our anti-colonial movements for years but are now supporting the Free Palestine movement. If you, someone living in the US, Canada or Australia or Aotearoa, are serious about the liberation of Palestine then you NEED to be just as serious about justice and liberation for the First Nations peoples' who's stolen and colonised land YOU live on. If you're not serious about where YOU fit in the paradigm of anti-colonial work, fix it. Here's a good place to start: if you're a person living on occupied Indigenous lands, learn who's land it really is, and how you can help them as an ally.

And so many photos of the arabesque position while I struggled to get Zelda's shoulder (I originally intended to have her full dress but I could not make the pauldron look good). I'm really glad to hear it looks good! T^T Thank you!!!

The piano covers I was listening to ran away with me and I was tearing through ballet references like a person possessed. The context to explain the outfits is pretty specific to a story that will almost certainly never see the light of day--just know that Zelda quickly stripped off the outer layers for improved mobility and Sheik has updated clothes in post-OoT years. Obligatory: Sheik appearing in anything created by me is a separate character from Zelda. This was a one off for me based on story and music inspiration but I feel it's appropriate to point people at @jullbnt for much more plentiful and polished LoZ ballet art.
