{Hi, I am here again! I think! I don’t know what I’m doing (it’s been like over a year and a half since I’ve been in this fandom. The last time I was in this fandom was this blog.) But I think I’m good to go! I added a normal verse, so if you don’t want to do my AU, I can just put him into the normal Pokemon world. If you want to thread just shoot me an ask, tag me in a starter, or ask me to write something up for you (assuming anyone here is still active, but some of you are, and you guys are troopers! I seriously admire anyone who can stay active for so long). I might make a promo at some point, but Fire is awful for finding images of, and the struggle is reall. I hope you all have a lovely day, and have had a wonderful year or so since I’ve been away!}
#{panicking fish noises what was my ooc tag did I even have one}#{What is pokemon}#{well unless you count my Pokemon OC blog but I made that completely private forever ago so I've only threaded with my best friends over the#{There so that doesn't really count as being active}

An explanation for why I've been away.
First and most foremost. I really, really hate talking about my personal life when something happens. (I haven't even told my best friend, yet.) I really hate letting other people know what's going on, but I feel like I have to let you guys know where I've been in cause I vanish/don't come back here.
First off, there's a person in the community I have made every effort to avoid and still ended up running into them on here (plus, I'm having problems with the community on my other Pokemon blogs. I'm getting tired of getting called an elitist because I write a lot. I'm sorry if it's annoying, it;s okay to tell me to write less, I won't be offended, but please don't tell me I'm not enjoying role-playing because I write a lot. It's not your place to say how I feel about something.
Anyway, that was why I wasn't around, at first. Recently, we put down our dog of 14 years. We have had this dog his entire life and most of my own. I grew up with this dog, we got him because of him, I helped raise him as a puppy when I was six. He was a big dog and I know 14 years is a long life for a dog of his size, but I just don't feel right about putting him down. He was my father's dog, the choice was his, not mine and I just don;t feel right about it.
He woke my Dad up at about three in the morning. He had thrown up all over himself and couldn't move. My Dad spent some time with him before my mom heard him crying and came down to see what was wrong and woke me up. We spent the rest of the night with him (until around eight, when the Vet opens) and took him in. I had to explain what was going on, as my Dad had to carry the dog and my mom was too upset to talk. The Vet said he mostly likely had a stroke and we could either try to care for him or put him down. I don;t know if he was in pain or not, I didn't ask, as I stated the dog was my father's, not mine, so it was his choice. I feel like my Dad got tired of him (the dog). I always felt like he had. We fostered a Border Collie/Collie mix and we ended up keeping her (I'll be the first to tell you guys I told them I didn't want her. And bot does she avoid me, it's like she knows. xD) After that, well, she's young and playful and attached to my father at the hip. He ignored the older dog after getting her, even though this dog loved him more than anything and I can argue more than his new dog. But he left him. He was old and couldn't play, so I ended up being the one to show attention to the dog more and more. (When my dog wasn't in the room to see, he's a jealous, grumpy, old puppy that barely even lets our other dogs in my room. xD) So, I was already attached to the dog, but the amount of joy that he (the dog) had when I came home on off weekends from college just broke my heart.
I'm rambling really badly. Anyway, my Dad chose to have him put down. (A choice that I'm a little upset about, assuming the dog wasn't in pain and the Vet didn't go out of his way to say that the dog was suffering.) So after he was put down, my Dad went to work and when he said he was leaving he said he was going to look on Petfinder. I told him no and got really upset about it. So, at work, he looked through the rescue group we do work for sometimes and wanted to call them about fostering dog. (Looking at our record, if we get one that likes him he'll keep it.) And I don't know. I'm upset with how quickly he threw this dog away. 14 years and this dog wanted nothing more than my father when he couldn't move, using what strength he had to paw at my dad and to raise his head to look at him.
I'm upset about everything. This isn't the first dog we've lost by any means, but just it doesn't feel right and I loved this dog a lot. He was one of the best dogs we've ever had. (And we've had a lot of dogs. xD)
So that's why I've been gone. I'm sorry, I really am, but I don't know when I'm coming back or anything yet. (I really, really don't feel like dealing with the first mentioned thing with my current mood). Thank you for understanding.

Even if the other could assure him that he’d been within the region before, Fire still held onto his doubts. Two years ago would have been during the end of the war, or at least when it was starting to finally settle down. The other had made it clear he hadn’t been aware of the war involving Kanto and the other regions in his next statement, which rendered him more than a tad bit suspicious in the man’s mind when taking into account the amount of time ago the other had claimed to be within the region. He was either being lied to, which was, of course, the first thought that he jumped to or something more complicated was going on. Even if he thought it over, lying seemed to be pointless in the given situation and, if the other was in fact lying, he was a terrible liar. To say one was unaware of the war was like placing a target upon one’s head if they were truly lying, as it was rather difficult not to know about a war that involved nearly all regions, even if one was from the few regions not involved with it. It was annoying, confusing, and slowly driving the General insane with the amount of questions rushing through his head. The amount of outcomes nagging at his mind with seemingly endless possibilities; people weren’t his thing, he was terrible at dealing with them.
“If you traveled the region two years ago, how the hell do you not know about the war? It was going on at the time.” Of course, Fire had to take the route of not believing the stranger; it was his job to make the lives of everyone around him difficult, if only for the fact that he was rather protective of the region. “And I somehow doubt people would only be confused if a an oversized lizard landed in the middle of a town.” Annoyed, Fire pressed his thumb and forefinger to his forehead, a sigh pressing against his rough lips as he tapped his foot against the ground several times. Crimson hues pulling together as the near-permanent frown remained completely intact upon his features. If he didn’t get a margin from this he would be surprised, the amount of strange people he’d dealt with in the past few months was slowly increasing, as if the world felt the need to make his life more difficult than it already was.
His tongue clicked against the roof of his mouth in mild agitation. How could he not know about the war if he was around the region two years ago? Annoyed, he shifted slightly, as if attempting to ensure he was still balanced on the same earth he had always known. Crimson hues glancing over to Duke’s massive form, gaining reassurance from the canine’s still hostile display towards the stranger, Fire’s manner furthering the dog’s will to protect his master from the chance of any threat despite the fact that the boy, while highly suspicious, didn’t seem to have any ill intent. The canine was about as frustrated with the current situation as his master was, thankfully, his aggressive nature was generally kept in check by Fire’s stern commands, spoken or otherwise.
Should he explain the war? Was that a thing he actually needed to do? Or should he write off the previous question. “The Great War, you know?” He was fairly certain that he was grasping at straws at this point. “Sinnoh invaded Kanto and Johoto while using Hoenn as a punchin’ bag.” This was stupid, even he was fully aware of that, but how was he supposed to explain the war. Sure, he’d been in it, but trying to explain it to someone who claimed not to know one thing about it was, well, strange. “Never mind.” He shook his head slightly, giving up in his attempts to get words to work in his favor. At this point he was likely doing more harm than good, but that happened to be what he was good at.
Duke’s ears pricked up, tail lowering and body growing tense as the boy took a step closer. Massive, sharp fangs that hadn’t been dulled over the years he had spent using them as a means to protect his master, lunged forward. Large paws rising up from the ground to move his body forward with a surprising speed for its size. If he would have actually struck the boy would remain unknown, The sheathed form of Fire’s sword taking the impact of the dog’s bite, Duke quickly reeling back and returning to his feet. Dark hues glancing to the man quickly, head shaking as his tongue ran over his teeth, confused and somewhat dazed by the act, though uninjured. Ears plastering against his head as his tail lowered between his legs, a low whine pulling from his mouth as he looked up at Fire, as if attempting to apologize to the man for being out of line. Regaining himself slightly, Duke returned his attention back to the stranger, remaining planted in place, not willing to read his master wrong again. His highly protective nature sometimes getting in the way of his judgment despite knowing that Fire was fully capable of protecting himself.
The other’s faith in his ability to find the loony professor was almost outstanding to Fire, who could never locate the man when he wanted to, though Oak had a habit of finding him when the man wanted not one thing to do the other. Life sometimes making it so that Fire had to seek out the man for the sake of the military, but he was almost certain that they didn’t actually need his help and he was merely being forced to mingle with someone he disliked by the commander, who enjoyed running him for a loop. Not being on fantastic terms with the other man surely lead to some annoying tasks for the General. “Good luck, your gonna need it.” The last part wasn’t really directed at the boy, hostility still lacing itself within the words. He had little idea what to do with the other, between claiming to not know about the year and being in the region before, he was at a loss for an idea. He didn’t sense any harm from the other, but being so drastically confused about the entire situation could have thrown his judgement off, it had certainly already thrown off Duke’s. All he could really do was keep on an eye on the other until he figured out whether or not he was a threat. Somehow he seemed to get all of the annoying jobs, intended or not.
Fire didn’t bother to return the smile, even if he had the ability to do so he likely wouldn’t have. Him smiling was out of place and often come off as just wrong. Even as he was reassured that the other had no intention to cause any trouble for the region, Fire still wasn’t sure how much he believed the words. He didn’t appear to be lying, but given the state the world was currently in he could never be too certain about anything. Letting out a light sigh and glancing to Duke in order to calm the poor creature down he chose to give in for the time being. “I’ll take your word on that.”
He raised a brow at the other, but wasn’t going to argue with him. The sooner he figured out what on earth was going on the less of a headache he would get out of the entire situation. Knowing his own luck, however, things were never that easy for him. “Yeah..” insightful Fire, very insightful. Conversing had never been his strong point and he was more so concerned about keeping Duke calm, his own confusion serving to hinder the canine’s ability to read what the man wanted of him. He didn’t really want the canine to go after the boy again, while he didn’t trust the boy, he didn’t have much of an intent to bring harm to the other and didn’t want Duke to misunderstand his confusion. If the animal brought harm to the other he would end up in quite a bit of trouble if the strange was anyone important and for all he knew, the other could be.
He motioned for Duke to follow beside him, the animal quickly moving in step with his master as Fire made his way back in the direction he had come from, looking back at the other only when he spoke, stating he might be lost. “Viridian City is the closest one to here. You’re in Viridian Forest right now.” How does one land somewhere and not know where they landed? At least his tone wasn’t quite as hostile as it had been before.

Agitation hitched in the back of Fire’s throat as the figures vanished into the shadows, fingers tightening around the hilt of the blade. He would have been willing to pull out the gun still attached to his belt, though he saw little point into firing pointlessly into the shadows where they had vanished, as well as the fact that his aim with the weapon was only decent. He far more suited for the blade, but little good would it do him to trash out at the shadows, his best bet would have been to allow Duke to send a wave of fire around the area near them, though doing so could risk something catching a flame and earning Kanto a rather bad name.
Crimson hues briefly turned to watch the bird and feline, the man’s metal creature seeming to be handling the other animal rather well. At the very least, the bird could hold its own, if not more, not that protecting the bird had ever been a problem in Fire’s mind. He was more so concerned about running off and leaving its human master alone, unsure if such an act would be a logical move or would endanger the stranger, as well as the meeting. Sometimes he cared too much about others.
Distracted, he didn’t catch sight of the bizarre creature before it was too late to give the canine a command. Fingers pressed to his lips quickly, a low whistle pulling from his mouth to draw the canine’s attention. The dog’s ears pricking up as he lunged for the strange Pokemon, something that he had never seen before nor had his master, fangs threatening to rip into it before it vanished. Massive paws colliding with the ground, as the canine quickly pulled himself up, dark hues darting around in a dazed manner, a ray of light circling around the canine.
“Damn it…” It wasn’t as if he had never seen the move before, hand tightening around the sword as Duke glanced around in a confused manner, head moving in all directions as his mind refused to allow him a moment’s peace, spotting the ghost-like creature in his mind the canine lunged for is, nose smacking into the form of the steel bird as the ghost vanished, an illusion created in the canine’s confusion. The dog pulling away from the creature and letting a low whine, annoyance playing in Fire’s eyes. “Duke.”
The stern tone earned him a confused glance as the poor canine pawed at his head, a low growl forming in the back of his throat. Oh, the General would snap the Pokemon out of his confusion one way or the other, even if he had to hit the massive canine to do so, something that he was planning on doing until crimson hues caught sight of a shadow moving along the floor, feet stepping back slightly before he took a wild guess and slammed the bladed edge of the sword into the shadow, startling the ghostly creature out of hiding, though if he had actually done anything to it was highly questionable.

(( I’m sorry about posting this here. Someone called me an elitist and said that I don’t role-play for fun (because of the length of what I write) on one of my other blogs and I don’t really understand why. All I wanted to do was make them feel welcomed, so I replied to them and said hello/whatnot. I mean, if I didn’t enjoy role-playing I wouldn’t be wasting time on it. I know I’m lengthy and post a lot at times, but that doesn’t mean I’m not having fun, it’s not like I force myself to write the amount I do. It just kind of happens, especially, when the muse in question is very natural for me. I also don’t care how other people chose to write/how much they want to write, it’s not my concern to have in the first place. I apologize if I came off as such here, I really do enjoy role-playing with all of you. Honestly, if we’re role-playing together I most likely appreciate you quite a bit because you’re taking the time to write with me and it means a lot to me. I’m sorry for posting this here, but I wanted to avoid having a friend eat someone alive and I kind of needed to get it off my chest, as I felt terrible about it.))

A light, dry cough hiccupped from the large dog’s throat, tongue pushing out from his mouth as he shook his head to rid himself of the dust that had collected there from the fall. Heavy paws pushing his disordered body back onto his feet, tail wagging slightly in another attempt to rid himself of the small rocks that had gathered into his thick fur. A low plea sounding from the canine as he turned his head to glance over to his master, ignoring the Pokemon and man before them, writing them off as not being much of a threat, as he assumed that if they were going to react in a hostile manner to their unannounced entrance they would have done so by now.
The canine’s concerned call was waved off completely by his master’s wounded pride, the man quickly raising himself to his feet on his own, even as Duke pressed his nose into the General’s side in an attempt to aid him. This wasn’t exactly the type of introduction he was used to, as he was generally rather quick on his feet and not at all clumsy. What had just happened, well, it was far from ordinary for the man and it wasn’t doing wonders for his pride. Sure, people made mistakes, he did so as well, however, falling into a heap on the floor of a cave wasn’t exactly something Fire could accept so blindly. Perhaps he was merely having an off day or an old injury was acting up to make him have lost his balance in such an ungraceful manner?
Choosing to write off his blunder, crimson hues moved themselves away from Duke to regard the man before him, at least he didn’t have to hunt through the cave. That was a plus. He didn’t know what the man he was looking for actually looked like, but he highly doubted that there would be too terribly many people within the cave. It wasn’t as if digging was a common hobby of his home region and it took a decent amount of his will to not make a comment against Sinnoh on such a thing. He could hate the country all he wanted, but he had little right to act bitterly towards someone who had been allowed within Kanto’s borders. That being said, Fire wasn’t generally a pleasant person to begin with.
Accepting the fact that he had been forced to babysit yet another foreigner, Fire collected his thoughts in order to address the question that had been asked of him. “Fire, a General within Kanto’s military, I’ve been tasked with keeping an eye on you.” That was about as long as the man’s formal introduction was going to last. “Looks like you’re stuck with me while you’re in Kanto.” He wasn’t the type to beat around the bush, though his blunt manner was sometimes a relief for those having to deal with the man. At least he didn’t attempt to hide the fact that he wasn’t a pleasant human being.
The pick hitting the tough rock echoed throughout the entire cavern. It was never a quiet activity and the earmuff and helmet combination made the carmine haired miner oblivious to the sound—as well as the sounds of those around him. He kept hard at his work, diligent as he ever was. Finding a newly discovered fossil would be amazing and entirely beneficial to his research. The fact alone was enough to encourage his actions despite the unfamiliarity of the area and the possible attacks that may be aimed at him—that was what Cranidos was around for, right? He’d be able to alert him if there was something that were to go wrong.
It seemed as though he had picked up on the two who’d were lurking close by. The headbutt pokemon was more than prepared to dig his feet into the ground and prepared to charge, but he couldn’t leave his trainer alone. His gaze kept focused on their surroundings trying to locate just where the others were. He could sense it, he knew he could. The ressurected pokemon began sniffing at the air as if it would help.
In turn, the pokemon only got plenty of dust from his trainer’s work and a coughing fit. It left him blind to the next turn of events.
The pick flew back and out of the carmine haired’s usually steady hands, striking the wall at the other end before falling safely to the ground. He moved back quickly, more out of surprise and confusion than anything. It was a cave; people don’t just drop down from the middle of nowhere! He scrambled to his pick. The arcanine looked pretty menacing to him and so did his trainer.
At the back of his mind, he could recall hearing that someone might have to watch him in Kanto, but he didn’t expect this sort of meeting. Maybe it wasn’t them. Maybe it was someone who was trying to steal what he’d already found. Or— "W- who are you?" He tried and failed to keep his voice steady.

Fire had to make an active effort to stop himself from rolling his eyes back, as the massive canine let out a grateful bark, large, fluffy tail wagged to display his joy at being given the bowl of dried fruits. His head tipping down to the floor where the bowl had been set, black nose pulling in the scents of the food before gingerly picking up one of the fruits and carefully eating it. The process far too polite for the canine’s natural nature, to the point Fire was about ready to set the animal straight, though he clearly wasn’t going to. The least of his worries were of the Pokemon making him look bad in front of the woman, he could do so himself and likely was; it wasn’t something that mattered to him.
Crimson hues pulled their attention away from the overjoyed canine to look back at the woman when she addressed him. “Not really.” He showed clear disinterest in the topic at hand, though he supposed he had little choice but to engage in communication with the woman if he had any desire to figure out anything about the strange creature, as aggravating as that thought was. He had never been a social butterfly, that much he had already made plenty clear.
“You happen to know anythin’ about a Pokemon wanderin’ around here?” At least he got the point rather quickly, that had always been a talent of his, even if it wasn’t the greatest one in the world to hold onto. His attention shifting back towards the window to where he had spotted the animal earlier, tea nearly being spat out of his mouth as the creature appeared in the window once again. The surprise in his eyes quickly replaced with annoyance towards the creature, fully prepared to hunt it down if he was given the chance, though he didn’t take enjoyment out of needlessly hurting such creatures.
“Namely that thing.” He pointed to the window through which the creature could be seen, remaining still and making no effort to pursue it. If it belonged to the woman and was tame he didn’t want to make the mistake of attempting to get rid of it. He wasn’t the type to take needless action, even if he was rather quick to react to any given situation.

–– { ✿❀ } With a light giggle escaping pretty pink lips, the botanist placed the small bowl in front of the other’s canine companion. She wasn’t used to being around other kinds of creatures besides Pokemon, but she assumed that the part of care would be rather similar. After all, Fire’s canine seemed to act much like her Venusaur. Although, Venusaur was a bit… on the larger side.
Erika then allowed herself to take the second teacup, taking a seat right across from the male. She gently blew on the surface of the hot liquid, cupping petite hands around the glass. Ebony eyes then shifted back up towards Fire as she tilted her head off to one side slightly. His expression seemed different from when she left. Almost as though he’d seen a strange existence or something. “Is something wrong?” she addressed after looking around the room for a bit.
Within that same window, Virizion returned once more. The grass/fighting-type now sat in front of the window, simply staring into the gym. At this moment, it seemed completely harmless as it laid down like a deer would, it’s crimson gaze now magnetized to Erika. The botanist never even though to look behind her, but even if she did, what could she do? If she shooed it away, things would look even more suspicious. However, Virizion was pretty much a harmless Pokemon.
"You look like you’ve seen a ghost," the ravenette continued. She brought a hand up from her teacup to brush a few strands of her silky hair from her equally dark eyes.

A brief glance was sparred towards the canine as the creature began moving slowly closer to the downed bird, mildly curious though mostly uninterested in the animals’ actions. Crimson hues catching the sight of the bird’s long neck reaching down closer to the earth to bring its small head at a closer level to the curious dog, though Kite wasn’t as tame as the other two creatures that called Fire their master, the bird had lost what naturally hostility it had held when it had resided on Mount Silver. Kite wasn’t terribly intelligent, not that Fire would have assumed the bird to be, and the man could only assume that Kite had come up with some silly notion that this far more natural dog was somehow related to Duke, of whom the bird was quite used to. In turn, making Kite friendlier towards the creature than it naturally would have been towards most, massive wings tucking up against the creature’s warm body as the flames surrounding it mellowed out in a display of good intent, a low hum removing itself from the bird’s mouth.
A light glance of agitation crossed the man’s features, though he wasn’t the type to push aid onto someone, if the man didn’t take his offer than Fire wasn’t going to attempt to force him to do so. Whether or not he truly thought that the other would be able to make it back to his supposed home without aid was something that Fire was clearly questioning, however, it was, in all honestly, not something he cared too terribly much about. Had he not had a strong desire to do nearly everything a certain childhood friend wouldn’t do, well, he most likely wouldn’t have offered aid in the first place, but Fire was a stubborn to the point of being a complete moron at times and that was a trait that seemed to serve him well despite the trouble that it got him into at times. If only for the reason that could quite possibly be his only redeeming trait for the fact that is was what often convinced him to take positive action.
“Good luck with that,” He sighed, the General not being one to keep his opinions to himself, at least not most of the time. However, Fire made no effort to return to the bird in order to leave, instead pausing what attempt he would make to separate the creature from the dog it was currently fascinated by when the man made an effort to stand once again, something that he managed unlike his last attempt. At the very least, if the man didn’t accept his aid, he wouldn’t feel nearly as bad leaving someone that could stand as someone unable to do so. As much as he hated to admit it, part of his conscience still managed to exist in the very back of his mind and it enjoyed nagging him at every chance that it was given, which, given Fire’s job, was something that it got the chance to do quite often, though he generally spent a bit of effort shoving all thoughts that it would bring to him aside.
A slight wave of confusion washed over Fire’s steady eyes for a moment, both thankful that the man had take him up on his offer, if only for the lack of nagging by the back of his mind that he would be sparred from later, though he had assumed taking Kite would have been faster and easier for the man. However, it would save Fire some hassle if they didn’t take Kite, leaving the bird to fetch Duke and go after the group without him. “No, I was plannin’ to send it down. The faster I get rid of that little gang the better. We can it if wanna, though.” He wasn’t entirely sure how easy of a time the bird would have carrying both of them, as there was simply no way Kite would allow someone other than Fire to ride on it without the man right there. He doubted that the bird would be able to do so, as, while it carried Fire with some ease, someone heavier could cause the bird to struggle. Fire would admit he had a rather light build, making the bird’s job easier.
“I don’t know if it could carry both of us, though,” He admitted. He had never asked Kite to carry someone else, aside from the same when he had been trapped on Mount Silver, in which Kite carried down each man stuck on the top of the mountain with him down one by one while Duke had made his way down with Fire on his back. It had taken an annoyingly long about of time due to the fact that when Fire had gotten stuck on the mountain there had been a storm strong enough to threaten knocking the bird out of the sky; nothing was every easy, that was one of the many things Fire learned in his young life. Not even the paperwork that constantly lined his desk was easy and half of the time it ended up being fed to the few occupants that had managed to find their way into his officer. How, he didn’t know, but he was aware that no matter how times he tried to kick them out he would always find them there the following day.

The growl that had been humming in the canine’s throat erupted into a full out threat now that they were no longer locked in the room of tension, the dog no longer having to fear disrupting the meeting. For what reason the man had called them out, Duke didn’t care, he was now facing the chance to rip the threat in half and he wasn’t going to wait a moment to do so. Crimson hues glanced past the other man to follow Duke’s indicated direction once again, flames pulling at the canine’s lips as the creature vanished from view, though that was Fire’s only hint that something had happened. The man’s eyesight was somewhat poor, generally relying on Duke to figure out what was happening, assuming it was far away or dark. The result of an old injury and something that couldn’t be cured by anything that could increase his sight.
“How insightful.” He wasn’t going to bother being polite to someone that wasn’t taking part in the meeting, though he had never been trained to act in a proper manner, it simply wasn’t needed of him when his job was to kill and ask questions never. Though aware that the figures had vanished from his line of sight, he also now aware that the stranger beside him had called someone out for this reason, Duke, however, remained on edge, massive body rigid as he looked as if he was prepared to burn the entire building down if he needed. Growl becoming louder as the large, metal bird shifted.
“Too bad, get over it.” His hand shifted the weapon at his side, fingers wrapping around the familiar hilt of his sword, the motion enough to allow Duke to regain composure, mind freeing itself from the intense urge he had to burn the things before him. Crimson hues casting themselves in the direction of the voice, despite his slightly impaired vision he could fight just fine, with or without sound as an indication of direction. He wouldn’t have been able to lead a unit if he allowed it to drag him down. However, had his eyesight been better he may have recognized the figures.
At the sound of his master’s name, Duke allowed a slight huff of flames to pull from his mouth in a threatening manner. Accent would indicate someone from, Sinnoh, though Fire’s title had only ben given to him after the war, not during, meaning that could have moved to the country.
Duke’s attention took in the sight of the purple cat appearing, the man’s bird lunging for it quickly, though Duke remained at Fire’s side, unwilling to leave without a command to do so.
“Seems like a bunch of rejects that ‘ve got too much time on their hands.” Left hand moving to set his index finger and thumb against his lips, a low whistle sounding that was almost too quiet to hear, the notion enough to release a burst of flames at the feline creature from Duke’s mouth, avoiding the bird, if only barely. He would have sent Duke directly after the cat, though he doubted it was the only creature the figure had with them and didn’t want to leave one side completely open, not did he have any knowledge of the man beside him. If he could fight or not and if that bird of his was capable of battling, he was surprisingly more patient than he would let on.

It was rather humorous to see the massive canine struggling so much with the smaller creatures playing with him, though the dog was not used to such activates and that likely played part of a role in his lack of ability to keep up with the other creatures. Though, it didn’t seem to bother the animal one bit, paws clumsy and carefully leaping at the smaller Pokemon and missing by a mile to ensure he wouldn’t accidentally land on one of them. A joyful bark left Duke’s mouth as he continued to chase around the pair, seeming to already have forgotten about the world that he called home, even if he did so bitterly at times, for is his master had been born in a peaceful world such as this he doubted Fire would be the man he was now.
A slight grin formed on his features at the question proposed to him. It was a tad odd for him to not be covered in the layers of his uniform, something that was nearly always covering him, even when he sat in his office with Duke at late hours of the night he never bothered to take it off. Then again that could have been due to the fact that the commander enjoyed making him go out at odd hours of the night to mess with him. Of course, he didn’t sleep with the clothing on, though that was about the only time of day when he wasn’t clad in the thick uniform. “Not bad.”
Crimson hues watched the other for a moment when he spoke, accepting the denial as an answer rather easily, Fire had never quite been one to harp on anything. “You’re not kiddin’…” It wasn’t as if it was never hot back where he was from, but it seemed to never reach a point in which Fire was willing to jump into a river. Granted, doing such a thing would likely not go over fantastically in his own world.
A mild display of confusion crossed his generally confidant and harsh eyes when the other spoke, having not expected the words. Though, not offended by the statement, while Fire was quick to anger most of the time, there weren’t too many topics that would rub him the wrong way, though if one did he would make it be dropped, one way or the other. Tense wasn’t generally a word he would use to describe himself, if only for the reason that every reaction he had in his own world was natural to him.
“I suppose.” He paused for a moment to glance over at Duke, the large Pokemon enjoying every second of the time that they had here. At the very least, it was a vacation for the Pokemon, who seemed happier than he’d been in ages. “Probably the first one I’ve ever taken.” That much was likely true, though he didn’t care to go through his life story to figure it out. He didn’t hate his job by any means, without it he would lack a reason to live and would have made the choice to die years ago. “Guess I owe you a thanks for that, huh?”
Cut the Anchor || Red & Fire
Pokemon with great agility like Vee and PIka had no problem tripping the large canine up. Of course, there was no ill-intent. After all, they were just playing around as they usually were. Having a new member on board, even for just a while, was fun for them. It was something new for them, and change was usually welcomed for the group. Saur watched over the group like a protective father, flower in bloom and receiving the warm sunlight as he observed, whilst Snor enjoyed his nap thoroughly.
A comment and the slight sounds of a splash alerted Red from his trance-like state. He turned to see that the commander had finally given in and joined him in the river. Of course, no matter how used you were to the heat, wearing so many thick layers under the hot sun wasn't something anyone would ever be comfortable with. "How's the water, captain?" Red joked, beaming a bright smile.
The question caught the trainer off-guard, but he was quick to deny. "Huh? Oh, no! It's fine. The heat's just really taxin', that's all!" He went under for another dip, before surfacing and looking over to the group of Pokemon playing around. He smiled at the sight, before turning to look at the General again. "This is kinda like a vacation for you, huh? You seemed really tense when we first met.." He had hoped to break the awkward silence between them, and that he hadn't stepped on a Pineco somewhere as he treaded.
The first impression he had gotten from the general was definitely one of strain and tension. The world was apparently one of strife and war, distrust and grief written upon the very earth he stood on. Grim darkness hung over everything, and living in such a world for such a long time was definitely going to affect someone negatively. He kept all speculation in mind, of course; it was rude to assume something of another's life, after all, but he could not help but be curious.

An unconvinced eyebrow was raised at the words, crimson hues looking down at the other still on the ground before him. Fire was not an observational man, at least not in regards to other human beings despite the fact that he could assume a change in tactic by the slightest sign of something going wrong. War was Fire’s calling and it always had been. Born and bred, he wouldn’t have fit into the shoes of anything else, even now, a year after the end of the war that had plagued Kanto for so long, he himself was still trapped in the concept of fighting by continuing to use his job as an excuse to bring about harm, whether he realized such a thing or not it was clear that one way or the other he wouldn’t care. Something merely hammered into his body and mind that kept alert, aware, and more than willing to take the life of anything that crossed him at the wrong moment.
Thus, when even Fire was able to write off the words that claimed decent health, one had a problem, for the General cared very little for others. So little that, unless it was of benefit to him, he would easily write off any notion that would indicant how a person was feeling. It helped that he wasn’t in a foul mood, but the fact remained, however if he cared was highly questionable. Though, at the very least the other had gone on to correct himself, if he couldn’t run Fire for a loop than, at this point, he couldn’t fool anyone.
Though, the gesture to pet the animal and the fact that he had missed was slightly concerning. Injured or not, Fire didn’t really want to deal with the man dying on him, assuming he was in that bad of a condition, as gee, who would end up getting blamed if such a thing happened? Well, actually, frankly he wasn’t sure given the fact that he was fairly certain most people weren’t aware of the fact that there was someone living on Mount Silver, however the issue remained that there was in fact, at least one person of whom Fire knew, that could quite possibly be aware of the fact given the time the commander had spent on Mount Silver. If he did or not, Fire wasn’t willing to tread into, but he chose to ignore the possibly. He considered Richard, of which Fire called the man out of disrespect, to be a social outcast that would rather drown than be in the presence of others.
Fire waved the thoughts from his mind, having managed to get himself completely distracted by them, something rather unlike the man that was always so very aware of what was happening around him. Crimson orbs refocusing themselves on the man before him, unsure of what the best course of action to take was. While not kind or helpful by nature, he had little interest in just leaving him there, he was at least decent enough to not do such a thing, even if he would curse the empathetic nature that still nagged the back of his mind constantly. It wasn’t as if he didn’t have any options, as he did, he had several, one of which being to just leave and pursue the group that he planned to use as scapegoats. However, the option remained that he could send Kite after the group and Duke, the loyal canine, remained at the base of the mountain. Together he was fairly confident in their ability to overpower anything, with or without him actually being there. It was frustrating, if only for the reason that he cared deeply for Duke, and the motion showed on his features for a brief moment.
“Damn it…” It was hissed under his breath, though likely loud enough to hear, as he had never been to keep his voice down, even if he wasn’t naturally a loud person. The words had slipped out when Tyson had tried to get up, but had ended up returning to the ground. Fire hated himself, yes, but he may have hated the fact that somehow, someway, he had retained the ability to feel empathy, which further made his life more difficult than it really needed to be. He was not going to tell the man that he wasn’t hindrance, he wasn’t that kind, but he was clearly becoming annoyed, though the feeling was more so directed at himself than the an, as well as partly at the commander, as Fire had a persona; hatred for the man and always made an effort to do everything he wouldn’t. And the man would have walked away.
Kite lowered to the ground, talons clanking against the earth as it stretched its neck out towards Fire in concern, able to feel the agitation radiating off of the man. Fire, however, chose to ignore the bird’s efforts. A normal person wouldn’t have had such a difficult time deciding whether or not to offer aid to someone, though a normal person would never have been standing in Fire’s shoes. With his index finger and thumb he pushed his forehead together for a moment before giving up and making his way over to the man, if the canine chose to take his stride in a hostile manner it wouldn’t have bothered Fire. He’d been bitten by Duke before and the Pokemon’s mouth was likely ten times larger and more powerful than the animal’s before him.
Do you need help?” He was most certainly not the best at offering such a notion, but hey, he tried, it was the thought that count when it came to the General. “Will you be all right?” Asking a series of questions was not going to help the situation at hand, at all, he was aware of that, a frustrated sigh escaping his lips as his inability to be of much use in such a situation. “Where do you live? I can help you get back to your house.”

"Well, she beat her record yesterday, of talkin’ to somebody," He stated before pausing for a moment,"She voice chatted with her best friend for seven hours." The concept of speaking to someone for seven hours straight was completely off putting to the man. "I don’t know why anybody would wanna talk to her for seven hours. That seems excessive when she’s so boring."

All right, four more, he could do that. Maybe, assuming he could come up with enough stupid things to rattle off of the top of his head. After all, sharing anything even remotely interesting or of decent intention would be against his nature.Though, he was fairly confident in his ability to come up with pointless facts, or stupid ones, whichever happened to cross his mind first. “Well, she’s been complainin’ lately about how many poodles’ (Furfrou) she’s bred tryin’ to get a shiny one. Something about havin’ six boxes of ‘em. It’ll be funny if she gives up before she gets one.”
✫
"She’s got four dogs."Crimson hues glanced down to the massive canine always pressed up against his desk while he was in his office. The animal shifting to glance up at him from his position on the floor, a low yawn pulling from Duke’s massive mouth before he set his head back onto the floor. "I got one and that’s too many." The comment clearly aimed at the sleeping dog. "Guess hers is a Collie/Husky that’s grumpy and old that she feels the constant need to tell him how great/beautiful/flawless he is. I think if I was the dog I woulda bitten her by now."
✫
All right, so the last one wasn’t too up his alley, but he’d have to come up with something to make up for it. “All right, on a list of things I can say about this loser…” He stared ahead of himself for a moment, attempting to come up with something dumb. “Well, a while ago her alarm didn’t go off one day and she thought she was late to class so she freaked out cause she’s a moron that never misses class. So she ran outta her room and to her class and saw her teacher sittin’ outside of the room, so she thought she missed it. Being the idiot she is, she apologized to the teacher for missin’ and was informed that she had been early.”
✫
"Why do you even wanna know about her? She’s boring." He leaned back in his chair, digging through his mind to come up with another fact. "She’s cold all of the time, even when its hot."
((My dog is actually prefect and I’m putting a picture in here of him because he's my baby, so here you guys go (under the cut)))
((He sleeps on the air conditioning vent when it's hot out. xD))
