RIP horror manga legend Kazuo Umezu. I haven't read as much as other people have, but the manga I have seen has been vivid, unafraid of being passionate.

Naoki Urasawa:

Kazuo Umezu. I once had the honor of playing guitar in the Umezu band. The key changed every time we rehearsed. And again during the performance. The band members were all confused and upset. I thought it was a wonderful freedom. I think this freedom is the source of inspiration for that incredible manga. I pray for his soul to rest in peace.
