the basic premise of the au is that there are 100 99 party members instead of 5! this guy here (pooL) is an isat siffrin during act 5! also, they do not remember the loops lol

"Hey, pooL." You know your lines by heart. pooL is getting antsy, getting so close to the King. You can never quite tell how they feel about him- but they seem to hate him just as much as you are starting to, if not more.

pooL nods at you.

You get ready to hear them try to convince you not to worry about their feelings. You did their little quest earlier, so you know they'll be little more direct as to why-

"...Siffrin. Are you okay?"

...what?

"I keep noticing that your smiles are..very forced. And you know I know that you know that I. Um. Get it, you know?"

What..?

"And when you were doing everyone's little friendship quests earlier you seemed. Really tired with this. And you know! I-I've been there before. I really have so-"

"I don't want to talk about this. Please." You say it before you can even think it.

pooL pauses.

"...please, Siffrin. Don't make the same mistakes I did. I can see it in your actions, this loop."

pooL. pooL has never adressed your loops so directly. You...

"You're close to snapping, aren't you."

"Shut up. I said, I don't want to talk. Especially not to you."

pooL looks stunned, recoiling for just a second-

And then they lunge, grabbing you on the shoulder Isabeau will never touch.

You flinch, freezing in place.

"No, you shut up! And listen!!! We both know just how close you are to snapping! To destroying everyone and yourself!!! Rending those perfect relations and moments and finally giving up and-"

...

pooL seems to realize what they have done. The tight grip on your shoulders loosens.

In Stars and Time Loop 50 Siffrin and Odile

HI im back. With more ideas :DD COUGH COUGH. I should make a one shot of these two but I shall post my writing here for now!!!

anyways get ready for a short attempt at a story of this because this has plagued my brain since I posted the last post.

The Stars and Saturn’s Rings

Odile is here! Staring at you! Probably the same way you are at her. You feel like you look more giddy than her look of complete horror.

You don’t think she expected you to show up by her expression. To be fair… you didn’t expect her to be here either so that probably makes this a fair shock. 

This is good though! Probably! This is New! New so far has meant he’s going in the right direction then right? It’s a new act! 

“Siffrin…”

Orrrr this is like when your friends started sending you worried glances… cause you took too long to speak to her... 

well, that’s fine! Right! 

. . . !

YOUVE BEEN STANDING BY THE DOOR! MOTIONLESS!! FOR LONGER THAN YOU SHOULD HAVE!!!!

NOW ITS AWKWARD!!!!!

But that’s fine!! It’s still new and he can fix this! Honestly, he should be more concerned about why she’s here this loop instead of the Book Store which is totally different from the library. But you’d rather explore this loop right now!

“Hi Odile!!!! How are you?” You almost feel your smile grow from the smile you normally hold into something more genuine as Odile tilts her head, what’s with the look in her eyes?

“What… are you doing here Siffrin?” Oh, she’s squinting at you. You’re not just awkward, she’s suspicious!

Wait. That’s not good.

Woops. Improvise!

“I wanted to talk to the Librarian! What are you doing here?” You move forwards to stop awkwardly standing in the doorway like a weirdo!

“You’re…” She shakes her head slightly, “I thought you were meant to be taking a nap.”

You were! You’re glad you didn’t stay there this time!

“Mirabelle woke me up.” You shrug, then you wait for an answer.

It doesn’t quite come.

It surprises you a lot more when Odile grabs your arm and begins to drag you out. You think she said “follow me.” But honestly she could have not. You were too busy realising this is the first time she’s ever touched you in a loop to actually process her words or her actions until you both were out the door.

Well!

This is definitely new!

You follow with very little complaint, you don’t even pull away from Odile’s vice grip when she directs both of your paces to the meadow! Progress!!

Wait, why are you both going to the meadow?

This wasn’t happening. 

Absolutely not happening. This doesn’t follow the script! 

You are staring down Siffrin, a Siffrin. Not your Siffrin.

Your Siffrin doesn’t have that manic look in his eyes or that crooked plastered on smile this one seems very determined to use despite his shock. And he’s never, Not Once been to the library in a loop.

This isn’t Siffrin.

You have half the mind to demand answers out of him right here and now, ask where the hell this thing got the idea to play pretend like this. Half a mind to just loop out of this situation, but you’re curious.

You haven’t practiced in a while but for now you need to have patience. Patience for the thing mascaraing as your… friend.

They haven’t moved however and it’s grating on your nerves. Graciously, you decide to knock them out of their internal dialogue. You can feel the venom on your tongue as you hiss out their name.

“Siffrin…”

They jumped. Not flinched, jumped. 

Blinking twice they stare at you before you watch the ‘Realisation’ set in of how caught they were. You can see them fidget under your gaze. Good.

“Hi Odile!!!!” You cringe as it uses your name wrong. Too high pitched. You feel your fists shake behind your back, “How are you?”

Ah, that is a very Siffrin thing to ask.

You glare at the ‘Siffrin’ in front of you. He doesn’t get to change the topic however.

“What… are you doing here?” You do better at hiding the disdain in your voice, though ‘Siffrin’ still seems nervous. 

“I wanted to talk to the Librarian!” Unlikely. “What are you doing here?”

He moves forwards and you fight to stay where you are. The man before you looked far too happy to be caught like he is. The look he’s giving you is making your blood boil.

“You’re…” You pause, you should wait for the call out until later. That did not mean you couldn’t throw them off, “I thought you were meant to be taking a nap?”

Their smile widened, “Mirabelle woke me up!”

You feel a shiver run down your spine at the genuinity of their face. Crab. You didn’t mean to aid their feelings.

Whatever.

You do notice that ‘Siffrin’ seems to be waiting for an answer from you. You almost laugh at the absurdity. Like you were gonna tell him. 

Whatever! You’re done with waiting. 

“Follow me.” You step forwards and grab his arm before he can stop you. He doesn’t even flinch as you begin to drag him out of the library. 

You take your focus off of ‘Siffrin’ after he proves to cooperate. His act was horrendous, his act of your friend was an insult to his character and you weren’t having it.

Your eyes flick over possible routes and for a second you think of bringing him to Clockwork. Nah. Isabeau is over there currently. That would just bring questions.

Then your eyes land on the way to the meadow Siffrin took a nap in.

No one goes there after Siffrin leaves…

That will be fine.

My experience with ISAT

ALRIGHT, I ASKED FOREVER AGO, BUT WHO WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT MY ISA LOOPS AU??

Heads up this contains a lot, and I mean A LOT of spoilers for In Stars And Time. Including: = Act 6 spoilers, including main mystery and secret encounter = Minimal Act 5 stuff = And a bunch of extra stuff that happens through Act 3 and 4. SO BASICALLY ALMOST EVERYTHING, FINISH THIS GAME COMPLETELY BEFORE READING (ESPECIALLY THAT ACT 6 ENCOUNTER, IT WILL LITERALLY BE THE FIRST THING I MENTION UNDER THE CUT)

With all those warnings out of the way-

IN REPETITION AND CHANGE

Initial Concepts:

I feel it's important to show these sketches because they were the first ideas I ever had. I wasn't even entirely sure I wanted to make an AU at this point, I didn't even know how I'd approach it. But I started sketching and it's been on my mind since- SO! Isa is stuck in the timeloop. I know what his wish is and he DOES have a Loop equivalent! The grumpy dandelion guy is Roboro (it/they/he). Their name is a very small play on Ouroboros and they call Isa "Seedling". However, this post is not about them, as I'm gonna talk about it and Isa's dynamic in a separate post. In short, Isa is his normal loud self up until Act 3, right? They beat the King, they reach the end, and whoops, the loop isn't broken. So now, what happens is that Isa starts getting his brains out. He starts thinking more analytically and tries to problem solve.

The more stuck he gets in his head, the less he's able to perceive his friends as real people, and more like them holding him back. Because even if Isa explains that he's smart, that they shouldn't be surprised if he says something, shock of all shocks, reasonable- They'll forget it the next loop.

So Isa is stuck with trying to portray his confident, loud, supportive facade- Which is fine! It wouldn't be the first time! But it progressively gets more and more frustrating, as he tries to find answers and simply looses the energy to pretend to be stupid.

TL;DR: Isa in the timeloop, unlike Siffrin, becomes more distant and cold rather then something more akin to Sif's mania.

NOW, MORE ART!!!

KILL KILL KILL:

I imagine Isa didn't have this encounter the same way that Sif did. Yeah, frankly, Isa is pissed with the sadness- But that's not why he goes through with this.

In this moment, Isa is trying to kill two birds with one stone. He's trying to get through this quickly, as well as reassure Mira that they can do this! If he shows how strong he is, then she'll feel safe right???

Poor Isabeau forgot that whenever he shows that he thinks ahead, he scares people. How could he forget that? How could he forget that he's inherently---

Family Quest:

I still think Odile is the one to call out to him (same with sus quest).

The hangouts I'm still figuring out, cause I don't think they'd too similar to base game- But, fun fact, at the end of this run, everyone agrees to keep travel together!

Isabeau brings it up, can't hurt if you can fix your mistakes right? And everyone agrees. The relief on Siffrin is the most palpable thing Isabeau has ever seen.

In this moment they love you. In this moment they all love you. In this moment---

Death Screen:

He loops back anyways. (This is one of the initial concepts that I ended up animating. This line in particular is when he reaches the end)

Act 5 Tarot Card:

NOW TO SEE MORE OF HIS PASSIVE AGRESSIVE SIDE

Thanks to @the-bitter-ocean for prescribing tarot cards to Isa (THEY ALL FUCK SO HARD) and for the RAW ASS LINE

If interacted with in act 5, predictably, Isa tears it apart. He doesn't need the divine judgement upon him, he's faced everyone's perception his entire life.

However, he tears it methodically. Tears it once in even pieces, twice, three times, and one of the pieces once more. In a way he isn't even getting his emotions out, it's like he's actively trying to tear it apart so it stops nagging him, like he wants to shut it up. Though, the Judgement card symbolizes rebirth, absolution and inner calling. In Act 6 he'd be able to look at it and find comfort and confidence in the card.

Act 5 Mirror:

And lastly, I have the Act 5 mirror picture. I haven't quite figured out how to make the normal ones work yet, however, I couldn't let go of the idea that Isa would not want to be in the picture.

The idea of seeing himself at all makes his head hurt and his stomach squeeze. The memory haunts him as he stands to the side and says the word. He didn't think the mirror would catch him.

AAAAND THAT'S ALL THE ART STUFF FOR NOW!!

I still have quite a bit of it to post, especially about Roboro, but I'm gonna leave it here for now.

I still gotta figure out the hangouts and potentially the dagger equivalent- but I have ideas for Bad Touch, the glass equivalent, and some extra little things that didn't happen in Siffrin's loops.

I needed to yap about this, because I've been slowly stacking up ideas and writing and I needed to share it at some point- If anyone read all this and has questions and stuff I fully welcome 'em!!

Calling all artists, animators, and fans of fun and useful pose references! In 2 weeks time I will be taking part in @adorkastock & Friends' MASSIVE Group Poses for Artists Shoot.

We've got a bunch of models of different sizes and shapes, more props than you can shake a stick at (including bows, a pole and a POOL), and two full days of shooting to get as many reference photos as we possibly can. It's gonna be awesome, and there will be some PHENOMENAL references coming out of this.

ok i can't keep this inside me for the sake of 'what if i get the inspiration to write a whole fic about this one day' anymore. WHY have i never seen anyone make a forgotten ka bue odile loops au???????

imagine leaving your home country for the sake of discovering the other country that you're descended from but never got the chance to see, to live in, to truly understand. imagine waking up one day and realizing that you can remember everything about that- your mother left when you were a kid, she's from the country you're traveling to, you hate her for robbing you of half your heritage, you want to know if you fit in any better in her country over your other parent's- but you can't recall a thing about where you were raised. about the parent left behind who took care of you. of the culture you actually knew. loosing the half of you you grew up with before reaching the half you longed for. and now all you want is what you left behind.

odile would be more aware of her lost country than canon siffrin is- it's probably a real research topic of hers. what she can remember, what leaves her head as soon as she looks away, what will never come back to her. but is she open about it, or does she keep her origins secret? how much more painful is her search for a familytale? is she the one begging a stranger to tell her where they're from? and of course there's the question of her sasasap/guide self, what their personality and perspective would be.

and beyond odile there's so much to think about in how the rest of the world and people would change. how different is a siffrin who sailed back home, got a lecture from their parents, and only left home when he was older and became a traveller willingly? how well known is wish craft? what's the king (or whoever his replacement is) like- a king with gemstones studded on his armor, not even able to use craft from his own country to freeze vauguarde this time?

MORE ABOUT MY SILLY ISAT AU???!!!

I still need a name for it, but I’ll be furiously ignoring that fact.

First, the less spoilery info or. The meeting.

Replay shows up around another loop six while Siffrin is talking to Bonnie, Siffrin briefly sees Replay staring at them with their not-face before disappearing.

When Siffrin goes to inspect it they only find a weird doll vaguely representing Bonnie with an empty key slot like a wind up doll.

The series of events towards officially meeting replay is spotting them around the map of Dormont each loop, collecting a doll of one of the party members- plus loop- And then go through the house to find the wind up keys.

Replay’s ‘crafts’ will be mostly centered around games, like a map, being able to auto navigate, an item box and having their ‘craft dolls’.

All things referencing different components of a game being a games navigation system, inventory and character selection mode.

Now for the more spoilers about Replay’s existence.

Replay is an actual star piece cut off of the universe to help Siffrin.

They’re there to make sure Siffrin’s wish gets fulfilled and that they don’t go bonkers enough to make a wish like loop did. Hence the reason they are able to narrate Siffrin’s thoughts— feelings and things they notice.

They’re supposed to be unable to feel anything and they’re aware of that.

They don’t see themself as a person, but with loop being there and the god of change wanting change and ‘character development’ because they’re bored Replay does have the ability to feel.

Emotional maturity wise? They try to act more like an adult while in nature they’re much more childish and shy.

Their body is made out of pure craft and are completely invisible to anyone except siffrin unlike their dolls, they follow Siffrin through dormont and the house trying to help them in anyway possible when Loop can’t.

To try and keep Siffrin’s sanity up in later loops they start trying to write scripts and little plays for their dolls to show them or Replay memories Siffrin had forgotten with them as the more Siffrin forgets about their life the more Replay remembers.
