cast on arm, feeling kinda shite, going to beat up the 6th gym leader since I beat clemont due to overlevel (he was rlly disappointed, like "cmon man, league says this is my level range, did you * have * to) but I got to take a day trip around lumiose, had some famous pastries and bought a fancy hat.

Now onto .. . Valerie. Glad I have a mawile and other dual types or else nothing would do much damage. I hope I don't faint from nerves while battling her. I chose to walk since Laverre is really not that far from anistar, should be there in an hour or so. Puzzle is lounging in my pokémon hoodie pocket, I'll leave her in the party for exp, maybe she'll break level 10 today!

might run into @sid-is-a-gym-leader, will keep you all posted. especially if I can actually look at valerie in the eye during the battle.

how many keys can klefki hold and does it have an affinity for your keys

to be frank pokemons work in mysterious ways & i don't have the slightest idea how klefkis even *attach* keys to their body ?? Nonetheless when we first met i would leave him home to go to school and when i came back keys had just *appeared* on his body. Pretty sure the biggest amount he ever held was around fifteen !! after that we had to have a serious talk because i cant imagine the number of people in my neighborhood who ended up locked outside their homes thanks to this scoundrel. fairies will be fairies 🤨

in the end we found a compromise : i am very prone to losing my keys, and he is very prone to stealing them. so i made tons of replicas that i hid inside the house for him to find. that way he got enrichment and always knew were to find them :D

that was during the first years of our relationship, but as we've grown closer he has naturally begun to prefer """"stealing"""" mine. As for me i never think about putting them anywhere than in his care :) i've heard that if a klefki bonds with someone strongly enough he'll even put his life on the line to protect their keys. I don't think we're at that level yet but i'm still grateful he never tries to steal my room mates's keys (they were actually very worried about that when we first moved in lol)

JSJZVZZV it's nothing I'm being serious ! I think the fact you already captured and trained so many pokemon is impressive. It's *really* hard to even take care of one so more than that shows you're a good trainer. You even give them nicknames which I can tell you is more than some laverre town gym challengers ever do.

Buut... you did kind of put the finger on my small, minuscule hope of *ever* taking over the laverre gym. AH WAIT I REMEMBER I MADE MY BLOG TITLE MOVE OVER VALERIE,,, FOR SOME REASON I NEVER FIGURED PPL WOULD READ THAT DJEJZB

I kinda meant it as a joke since the idea that me, a person who became a trainer at age 15 who has (1) pokemon could even challenge her is kinda funny. But yknow there is a tiny bacteria sized shred of hope in there

Although when i saw your blog with your team and aspirations i thought yeah ok this guy is much more likely to do that lol. Not in a sad way at all actually it made me happy to see someone had the same dream. Like a "you're not alone" thing

Oh and you're right on the money for the status effect thing. My Klefki's moveset is Toxic, Thunder Wave, Spikes and Play Rough. Basically unless I'm fighting a Poison type pokemon i use toxic and then desperately try to dodge all attacks until they faint from poison. It's kind of a sneaky way to fight ill give you that x) at least spikes and play rough do some damages too, though spikes would be more useul if i had a second pokemon. I mostly use thunder wave when I'm fighting a pokemon who can't be poisoned.

oh damn cool to see another fairy type kalos trainer ! well, im still not sure which type to specialize in, but ill never abandon my precious klefki so its either gonna be fairy or steel lol

you're looking to take over the laverre gym ? i have heard that valerie was thinking of going back to johto, at least for a while, so that'll be a good opportunity

looking over your team it seems to be strong and well balanced so i think you've got a good chance

Fairy type kalos trainer !! A klefki? I think they're great and I was looking into getting one before I got puzzle, how do you deal with prankster if your partner has it? I've heard a lot about how those are status move happy.

Also, I'd be nowhere near good enough to take it over, the Laverre gym leader is my absolute idol though. Maybe one day, but first I've got to manage to make it to gym trainer and hope she's still leader when I get to it. I admire Valerie a lot, I grew up watching her exhibition matches on the TV and once got taken to see one for my birthday (i'm from anistar which is bus distance but still 'special occasion' bus distance). . . Second best day of my life after the day I got Coconut Milk.

But just you thinking I could is ,,, I've never had many friends (not because of bullying or anything sad, everyone's perfectly polite to me, I'm just a bit eccentric) so I train most of the time, and someone else believing that me and my little dudes could someday make it to the league is incredible to hear.

I need to know, what are the supposed occupational hazards of being a trainer? It's usually your pokémon getting blasted, not you, so what makes it 'dangerous' to become one? I think you're the person who I've seen get a pokémon the latest, too, what did you do when someone looked at you in the eyes until you got your klefki?

Also, private school? What school doesn't teach battle studies? + if you're still indecisive between steel and fairy, have you ever thought of getting a tinkatink/tinkaton to raise? It'd give you a bit more time to think, and it's a small pokémon if you ignore the. Hammer. It's quite a wonderful paldean fairy, and if I wasn't allergic to most metal I would try to get my hands on an egg : }

My parents both have "normal" jobs, aka not pokemon related, and actually do not have any companions. It's a personal choice, but it's also due to bad experiences in their past. My mother in particular tragically lost her starter pokemon back when she was journeying.

I didn't grow up surrounded with pokemons, which is the reason why they intrigued me so much. I just wanted to know what is was like to live with them... to be fair i wasnt "forbidden" to get one, but i would have to do so once i was out of the house, so very late compared to most kids.

My mom always told me that pokemons were very powerful and could hurt me if i wasnt careful, and that it was unreasonable for a young child to get one. Pokemon-related accidents are not unheard of, but i think deep down what she's really scared of is that i would go through the same thing she did and lose my pokemon. I know for how she talks about him that she really loved her fennekin.

About battles... x) I'm a little ashamed of it but i didnt use to go out a lot when i was younger. With my super protective parents it was better for me to just stay at home...where i could play pokemon games allll day on my ds :v If i couldnt get the real thing at least I could have the closest equivalent lol. I also spent a lot of time on pokemon showdown virtually battling people, so i could still "train" in a way.

On the occasion when ppl did look me in the eyes i would just sheepishly tell them i didnt have one... trainers are very enthusiastic but once the shock wore off they would leave me alone x) or i would just walk with friends who had mons and watch them battle. I actually have a school friend who is quite good at battling, moreso because she likes to be good at everything than out of any interest in being a trainer.

My school is specialized in teaching what i call "boring" jobs : aka ones that involve no pokemon. Basically a lot of theoritical stuff like math, laws, physics.... we do touch on pokemon but we rarely interact with them for example. And all the faculty staff pokemon are either meant to help do certain task (my math teacher has an adorable Elgyem that helps us with calculus) or for companionship, no battle pokemon. Battles are actually forbidden on campus. Not that we actually follow that rule...

It's a pretty strange way to operate compared to most schools, hence why it's private. I know a lot of people whose parents are also freaked out about pokemon... or they think that pokemon battling is not a "real" job.

Your school sounds awesome tho. You should tell me about it. I'd love to hear what battle studies classes are like x)

Also you had a great idea with Tinkaton. Well my parents would not be happy abt the Hammer(tm) but hey im 18 ! Almost out of there. Actually since I was looking for a pokemon that deals a lot of damage that would just be perfect. Finally someone to blast the ppl that hurt my klefki into the stratosphere !!! Do you know where i can find eggs ? I thought my only option was to trek to Paldea lol.

Dude why are the unovan translated names of Kalos cities so different. Like how do you go from "Romant-sous-Bois" to "Laverre City". I read that it came from "lavender" but i dont think we have lavender here ???? Thats some south Kalos shit. Unless it's meant to resemble Lavender Town and yeah ok i can see the similarities

Bonjour bonjour, my name is Sidonie though I go by Sid. I'm 18 yo and still a student (private school 😭) but i live in a dorm and thats pretty sick.

My school teaches very little in terms of pokemon training which... sucks for me because i kinda want to become a gym leader when i'm older 👉👈 i know its impossible but pokemon battles are kind of the only thing im interested in lol

At least pokemons are allowed on campus, although we're limited to only two 😐

My most precious companion is my Klefki, Pépère (it means "little old man" in kaloçois which fits his personality perfectly). He's the perfect companion for me, since my parents are super freaked about me being a trainer (cuz its "dangerous" 🙄). When i first caught him I hid him in my bag and pretented he was a key chain for weeks 😶

Despite his small size, he's actually quite powerful and often used in competitive circles. However, he has very little HP and is specialized in defense, which makes it difficult to win battles alone. So i'm actually looking to get a second pokemon right now ! Preferably a fairy or metal type so i can finally decide which type to specialize in 🤔
