i think the psych fandom as a whole could have so much more fun if they accepted the fact that shawn gus and jules are canonically gen x (maybe borderline elder millennial) and are probably extremely cringey about it. like imagine their group chats. we know for a fact shawn was victim to the incoherent abbreviations and acronyms of the late 2000s, gus probably uses punctuation way too formally, and i know in my heart juliet would throw ominous elipses in places they dont belong all the time. all of them are way too delighted by modern emojis and overuse them regularly. they probably made those iphone mii things of themselves when they first got released and proceeded to sincerely send them to people in conversation. at least one of them still uses facebook unironically! (its juliet. we know it's juliet). my point is, theyre not bad at technology by any stretch of the imagination but they are not meme or social media etiquette literate the way you think they are. timeline wise, theyre in their late forties/early fifties. i need everyone to embrace this with me as a goldmine of untapped comedy
