Title: A Morning Mess
The sun was just beginning to peek through the curtains, casting a warm glow over Venti and Diluc's shared bedroom. Venti lay sprawled across the bed, his usually well-kept hair now a mess of tangled strands. Diluc, with his serious expression and meticulous nature, had taken it upon himself to help Venti get ready for the day.
Diluc carefully picked up a brush, his brow furrowed in concentration. Venti, propped up on one elbow, watched with a playful grin. “You know, Diluc, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so focused on something as trivial as my hair.”
Diluc shot him a quick, slightly irritated glance. “It’s not trivial if it’s important to you.”
With a gentle but clumsy hand, Diluc started brushing Venti’s hair. His movements were more awkward than skilled, causing Venti’s usually perfect hair to take on a new, chaotic shape. Strands fell out of place, and despite Diluc’s best efforts, the hairbrush seemed to get caught in tangles more often than not.
Venti’s laughter filled the room. “You know, you’re making me look like I’ve been wrestling with a tornado!”
Diluc huffed, his cheeks tinged with a hint of red. “It’s not easy, alright? Your hair is a nightmare.”
Venti shifted, trying to keep his balance while still laughing. “I think it’s kind of cute, though. It’s like you’re trying to give me a new look.”
“Not the kind of look I was going for,” Diluc muttered, finally letting the brush fall to his side. He let out a resigned sigh and ran his fingers through Venti’s hair, attempting to smooth it out.
Venti reached up and gently placed a hand on Diluc’s cheek. “Hey, it’s perfect because you did it. Thank you.”
Diluc looked down at him, his expression softening despite the frustration. “Next time, let’s stick to something I’m better at. Like… making breakfast.”
Venti grinned, reaching up to give Diluc a quick peck on the cheek. “Deal. And maybe I’ll let you try my hair again sometime.”
Diluc chuckled, shaking his head as he helped Venti out of bed. The morning may not have started with the perfect hairstyle, but it was filled with a perfect dose of laughter and affection.
