i really want people to stop writing scientists as awkward, stilted conversationalists who don't understand idioms or emotions and start writing them as depressed alcoholics who swear like sailors unless they're in a specifically academic situation

Perfectly matching and replicating colors just by seeing them is an art, and, while it's also a very useful task, people who can do this are primarily artists.

For the ask game, how about:
9, 15, and 28?
(From this ask game here.)
Thank you so much, Way! c: I'm enjoying receiving these questions!
9. How did you get into writing fanfiction?
I'll be a little honest: I don't fully remember the exact circumstances that led me to writing fanfiction, but I can make some educated guesses. Part of this is because I've been writing fanfics for… uh, 26 years?
I'd always loved writing stories, but the very first piece of fanfiction I wrote was a one-page Pac-Man fanfic when I was 9-ish, and it was heavily based off of the story of a 3D Pac-Man fangame called 'Chompsters', which had a loose storyline that I tried to adapt. Given that I was 9, it didn't turn out very good, but I really liked the game and wanted to write a story based off of it. XD I didn't know it was called fanfiction at the time though!
That Pac-Man story wasn't the first story that I wrote, but it was the earliest one that I can identify as a fanfic. I later went on fanpages for Mega Man and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters on the internet and discovered fanfics on those pages. One of those Yu-Gi-Oh! fanpages linked fics from Fanfiction.Net, and that was how I discovered that a) they were called fanfics, and b) anyone could sign up for Fanfiction.Net and post their own stories - wild!
So I fell down the rabbit hole there and just… never stopped. XD
15. Does anyone you know in real life know you write fanfiction?
Already answered this one here.
28. What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?
Uh… Haustorium's universe definitely ranks up there. I had some (now deleted) fics I'd posted in 2004 that were pretty angsty, but I'm so mortified by those that I won't talk about what they were about. I have an Infected OVER-1 in the X-era and basically using his abilities to psychologically screw with X (and it doesn't end happily), but the AU that concept takes place in doesn't belong to me, but to someone else who gave me permission to play in that AU, so I probably won't ever post it.

Hello! Would 23 and 26 be okay to ask about?
(From this ask game here.)
Hiya, thank you so much for the Ask! And of course it is okay!
23. What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?
There's quite a few of these, but I'll talk about one of them. This is technically cheating since I had a whole RP blog dedicated to this AU, but things have changed and I haven't actually posted fics about this AU on AO3 yet.
I have a sorta-reverse-MMZ-AU (that I call Tartarus/Valhalla depending on which era it's in) that I've always wanted to write but I've struggled with. This AU is basically a "if X5 went even worse than the three endings" - basically, Eurasia hit the earth fully intact, Zero went Maverick in X5, and X did not survive, but Zero did.
I know what happened in between, but by the time the story would start, the planet is still screwed up, and Zero's the leader of Elysium, while Alia runs a resistance group from the shadows and ex-Elysian scientist Ciel is the figurehead. She eventually finds a badly-damaged (and later discovered to be amnesiac) X in the ruins of Eurasia and brings him back, and gets him working again. Nobody in the Resistance except Alia knows he's actually X, and she keeps it quiet because he really doesn't need that kind of pressure on him.
Axl is in this story, too, though his backstory is different given Red Alert never existed, and he becomes X's bestie (and more) while the latter tries to figure stuff out. Other major players include OC Reploids based off of Zero to replace the Guardians, a Wily descendant trying to fix the Virus problem, and a still-infected Zero trying to deal with X's sudden reappearance after nearly two centuries.
26. Do you ever “prep” your fics with outlines or warmups before you start writing, or do you just dive right in?
I have a super bad tendency to just dive right in when I start up a fic. If I DO make scraps, warmups, or outlines, they're usually extremely barebones. I might write a summary of the plot and talk about the major events that I want to happen, and that would be about it.
For example, for A Real Hero, I basically had this as my outline: -The summary that I used -Vent gets Model Copy X -Vent meets up with Aile and the Guardians -Vent and Aile destroy a Model W
That's it. Everything else came in after I had started writing it.
The only fic that I wrote a significant outline for was Dragon Star (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds), and that was because I wrote up what would've been an entire multi-episode duel, and if I didn't outline it, I would never get the duel figured out or written.
If I have a major AU that I'm writing fics in, like Svarga, I actually have quick one-sentence summaries of events that happened (such as stuff where you can do things differently in games). Like, for example, in X2, Xephyr still got all of Zero's parts, but they were stolen by the X-Hunters (in the game, it's either or). In X3, he ended up with Zero's saber and Doppler saved him in the end. And in X5, the Enigma destroyed the colony on the first try. There's more, but you get the gist of it.

For the fanfic ask game: 2, 15, 16, and 33!
(From this ask game here.)
Thanks for the ask, Kimium! <3 I know I can always count on you to send some!
2. Which of your fics is your pride and joy?
Ohhh, this is a difficult one, because I love so many of my fics (obviously, or I wouldn't have written them xD)! But if I had to pick just one of those fics, I think it would be Tinted Azure Skies. The concept was really fun for me to come up with, along with the potential changes that would happen in the timeline, and the implications that this had for that world.
15. Does anyone you know in real life know you write fanfiction?
Yes! A couple of my close friends know that I write fanfiction, along with a few coworkers. They have absolutely no idea what my accounts are, though, I've kept my online and my IRL identity pretty much separate.
16. What do you struggle with most when writing?
-Romance: I cannot write typical romance and whenever I try I never feel like it progresses naturally and seems a little forced in the few fics that I try to put a romantic scene in.
-Action scenes: Fight scenes are another thing that are especially difficult for me. The last time I really attempted one was in A Real Hero, where the main characters were fighting "the final boss". I was originally going to gloss it over, and then tried to write the fight scene as practice, and I'm still not entirely happy with how it came out.
33. A character you want to protect.
Easy one. X from Megaman. Poor guy really had a terrible hand dealt in life. While he can protect himself, but seriously, he shouldn't NEED to have to.

people always hate on books you read in school just because theyre being forced to read them i PROMISE it is so much better when you read at your own will because the books ARE good youre just associating them with you being buckled down and made to "enjoy" them

Sometimes it's useful to look at your dialogue and ask yourself, "would a real human being talk like that?" But it's also good to ask the follow-up questions of "would the way a real human being talks sound good here" and "does this character actually talk like a real human being or are they weird about it."

Your comments about AI users being talentless tells me you don't really understand art. It's about the product, not the tools. You can waste your life learning how to use a thousand of brushes and programs and you'll be easily outshone by someone who uses AI to draw what they want. The 'talentless' usually crow on about techniques and tools and miss the point of making art.
"You can waste your life learning how to use a thousand brushes and programs" And there, this is the attitude of the non-artists-AI-lovers in a nutshell. You see, drawing artists like using brushes. "Someone who uses AI to draw what they want."
No. If you instruct the AI to do something, you aren't 'drawing' anything. "The talentless" The 'talentless' is you. Telling an AI what image you want to be drawn doesn't require any talent.
