A commission piece for a gentleman who wanted a painting of a hand. Reference was taken from Ozario Riminaldi's "Icarus and Daedalus"
I've kept the tonal values of the forearm and the actual hand different to symbolise the reaching out towards the sun. Although the actual painting depicts Daedalus putting wings made of wax on his son, Icarus but it is foreshadowing Icarus not listening to his father's warning of not flying too close to the sun hence, melting his wings and drowning into the sea.
