          hyesu must have definitely be out of it that day — and she only has her stressful academics to blame for that. well, it was that and that she snuck her father's motorbike out that morning without asking for permission so she knew she'd be in big trouble. perhaps it was a bad idea to drive in the rain, yes. but then again she was the patron saint of bad ideas. sighing out audibly, she struggled to turn to look at the figure following her, in a way, she was embarrassed that she had to have that accident in front of him, and for a moment it was reminiscent of her big brother scolding her, " look here, old man, i told you i'm alright. really. it's not even that bad . . see ? " hyesu jumps in place, only to eat her words when she falls to the ground again. hissing while holding onto her leg, she staggers around, trying to stand up all on her own.

his  face  contorted  at  the  sight  of  the  young-looking  female  falling  off  her  bike–-  as  if  it  was  himself  who  kissed  the  ground  and  not  her.  he  would  know  best  how  that  feels,  given  he  used  to  do  a  lot  of  reckless  things  when  he  got  his  first  bike.  it  was  only  natural  to  run  to  her  aid  though  he  raised  an  eyebrow  at  the  way  she  pretended  to  be  alright.  " nuh-uh.  you  hurt  your  leg,  look  at  you  limping. "  he  nearly  shouted  after  her  when  she  tried  to  go  back  to  her  bike.  persistence  didn't  let  him  stand  there  so  he  followed  her.  " i'm  taking  you  to  the  e.r  and  i'm  not  taking  no  for  an  answer. "  he  would  be  scolding  his  sister  like  that  ...  if  she  was  younger  than  him,  that  is. / @showduo

           upon hearing seunghyun agree to his proposal, jinhae's smile grew wider, happy that he could have him on board, " nice ! let's goooo ! " he even clapped for good measure, his voice filling the area and urging bystanders to look their way, which he ignores, as per usual. " and yeah, some of them actually are talkative, and the talkative ones usually always have a message or something to say. more often than not, it's when they die abruptly. " it was a sad fact that he had learned over the two years he'd been keeping up with his ghost-hunting channel. " hmm, you're right. no matter how long i've done this, i do get jumpy so — just . . a little heads up i guess that i do scream. a lot, actually. " now excitedly standing up, he proceeds to lead the way out of the restaurant. but not without leaving a wad of cash on the table, not bothering to look at the bill. " let's go ! i'll take you there. i got permission to film this morning from the owners of the building. it's right outside of seoul ! "

while this was definitely new for seunghyun and not something he'd ever done before, it was truly impossible to say no to jinhae when he just looked so excited... and so cute, but the lifeguard wouldn't say that out loud. besides, he did quite enjoy being in the other's presence, even if their first meeting had certainly been unique. the more time seunghyun spent in jinhae's presence, the more he felt drawn to him and his charms, even if he was still a bit shy about that. " so do you actually talk to them? i didn't know that kind of thing worked. " he genuinely asked, curiosity in his tone. " i mean.... i don't really have anything else to do the next morning so i guess it wouldn't hurt to stay up a little later — but hey, i can take care of myself! besides, maybe i'll be the one saving your ass~ " seunghyun continued, unable to contain a little smile from appearing on his lips. " so where exactly are we going? "

         could this night get any worse ? he asks himself that, but jinhae quickly stops himself from ruminating on it any further, terrified of jinxing himself. he didn't need any more bad luck for the night, the fate he's had thus far was terrible enough. " memorable in the worst way, yeah. " he could hear jaemin greeting people on the other line and moving through the crowd of the house part. it was as if he was could feel his presence grow closer and closer to him in proximity. upon hearing the news that the female is still by the door, circling around like a shark waiting for its prey to get tired, the soccer player slumps further into the wall, wishing he could just melt into it.

but a brilliant idea (or at least, he thinks it was) comes to mind, " i think she's texting me i can hear the notifications going off. but hear me out, " he pauses, just for an added dramatic flair, " try hitting on her. i mean, you're kinda handsome, i guess, " he jokes around, chuckling into the receiver of the phone, " maybe she'll get confused and then we can ditch her when she's distracted enough. "

           it was as if jinhae's eyes were sparkling out of anticipation for seunghyun's response, excited to bring him along on his adventure. he had to admit though, they could be doing anything and jinhae would still be as excited. but to be able to share a big part of his life with the lifeguard meant a lot. " weeeeell, it would be just trying to find ghosts and hopefully be able to communicate with them, if they're in the mood for it. i bring equipment with me and all that ! " he enthusiastically explains, hands moving animatedly, " besides, you can count on me to protect you from the scary spirits. " and there he goes, grinning away pompously. " whaddya say ? yes ? "

well, this was definitely not what seunghyun was expecting jinhae would suggest as an activity for them to spend time together, but that didn't mean it was necessarily bad. just... a little surprising. however, it was hard for the life guard to say no when jinhae looked just so excited about it all. after a brief moment of silence, chewing on the inside of his cheek, seunghyun responded, curious about what it would entail. " what exactly do you do when you are filming that stuff? "

          jinhae stays silent for as long as he possibly could, unable to speak and not wanting to so as not to give away the fact that he is hiding in that specific bathroom. when the banging stops and he could finally hear jaemin better on the other line, he breathes out a sigh of relief, he is safe for now - at least. " i think this is in the second floor, i just ran to the nearest free bathroom i could find. " he finally addresses the other's question, closing his eyes shut dramatically, " this was supposed to be the party of the year for me and yet here i am, stuck in this fucking room. " shaking his head, he could hear the loud music both outside the door and through his phone, " are you here ? do you see her anywhere ? "

          pressing the back of his head against the cold, tiled wall of the disgusting bathroom, the soccer player lets out a small sigh, " i don't know, i thought i was. but i was talking to one of my classmates and she suddenly got jealou- " just as he was explaining the situation, he hears banging sounds on the bathroom door, " holy fuck, i think that's her. she's got the crazy eyes, man. i'm terrified. " and he's never been scared like this in his life, much less over a date.

          now she's really unable to stop herself from chuckling, ruffling his hair with her hand before shaking her head, " i'm only like this to people who are good to me, so i should say the same for you. but let's not fight again, okay ? " reaching her pinky out toward him, knowing he would know what to do with it. " oh wow, i'm so down for that. i guess i will have to worry about homework later. " slowly standing up from her seat, hyesu does little jumps in place, waiting for him. " lead the way, sir ! "

ෆ˚⋆         𐀔         he breathed out a shaky laugh, moving his head to rest on her shoulder.   “   you’re too good to me,   ”   he confessed ever so softly, quietly wondering what he’d done to deserve someone like hyesu in his life.   “   but thank you.   ”   sitting up straight, he finally took a bite from his cupcake.   “   how about a weekend at the beach? it’s been awhile since we’ve been there. if we leave now we’ll be right in time to watch the sunset.   ”

          he finds himself situated on the bathroom floor, spacing out in fear. usually, at parties he'd be in the middle of the room, soaking up the fact that he's the center of attention- but not tonight. speaking into the receiver of his mobile when the other line finally picks up, he keeps his voice low, " yo, where are you ? i need you to come bail me out of this party asap. please. my date has lost her mind. "

          hyesu expected he would be taking the blame, as she likes to think that she's known him long enough to know that he's stubborn and won't relent even though she had her hand in making the conflict bigger, " tsk, fine. in that case, i accept your apology. " finally cracking a smile, she takes more bites from the cupcake until her cheeks are stuffed, trying to talk through them, " what did we have planned for today again ? didn't you promise me we were going on a road trip ? "

" hyesu dismissively says and ignores the burning sensation from the cuts on her leg, limping back to her bike on the slippery road.

          the female truly didn't expect he would show up at their pre-planned hang-out, especially after what had happened - but there he was. after hearing what he had to say, she pauses for a second before addressing it, eyes trained on him, " it's fine, i was also having a bad day then and said some stupid things. " hyesu acknowledges, taking a small bite out of the cupcake, " honestly ? i can't even remember what you told me that time, i think i blacked out or something. "
