sapphire placed her hand on her bandmate's shoulder. "babe, you know you don't need to ask me that!" sapphire exclaimed, beaming at sasha. she had enjoyed mingling with the press, employees at gravity and her competitors but it was comforting to be reunited with sasha. "i'm going to come dance with you but i don't need to escape the journalists. i've loved answering their questions!" some of the journalists had been condescending and demanding but most of them had been kind. sapphire was one of the few artists who enjoyed interviews. talking was one of her favourite things. especially when she got to talk about herself, music or compliment her bandmates. "what's the matter? did you get asked awful questions? do i need to fight someone?"

despite the hint of a breeze the launch party had the same stuffy air as every other industry event. sid felt like he was being suffocated. the repetitive questions from reporters and identical conversations with industry figures were tedious. he wasn't really being seen by the people he was having conversations with. he was just another replaceable singer to them. the night was far from over but sid felt like he couldn't take anymore schmoozing. he had gone to the bar to get a break from mingling. his plan had worked. nobody bothered him while he sipped his drink with intent. sid knew his dramatic gulping wouldn't buy him much time so he used it wisely. he took a moment to observe his surroundings. the sight of romi being accosted by a reporter caused sid to feel a pang of empathy. he slid into their eyeline, hoping to distract them from the interview. the plan worked. "i can't do either of those things." he responded with a laugh, stepping in between romi and the reporter. "there's no way i can save you when i can't save myself. it sucks we're on the roof. if we were on the first floor i'd check if the washroom has a window i could jump out of." he said it like a joke but he meant it. he had made an undignified irish exit a couple of times in his life. "i only dance when i'm paid to or am really into a song." he didn't hate dancing. he was just selective about when he put his effort into dancing.

The night was still young, but Romi was already running low on patience. She knew she had to be here—industry politics and all that—but that didn’t mean she had to play nice. She’d promised her manager she’d be good (or at least as good as Romina could manage), but that was easier said than done with a camera shoved in her face and a tiny microphone pointed at her like a loaded gun. The question wasn’t about her music, or the band. Of course, it wasn’t. It was personal, prying—digging for an easy headline. Her expression didn’t so much as flicker, but she wasn’t about to entertain them, either. What she was about to do was find an exit. That’s when she spotted ( your muse )—someone close enough to be useful. Romi turned, stepping toward them like they were exactly who she’d been looking for all along. “There you are,” she drawled, slipping easily into the moment. “Save me a dance, or just save me?”

sapphire felt a buzz all through her body before she had a single sip of a brightly coloured drink. she was tingling with excitement. networking events were her time to shine. she loved talking to people and the brief moments of attention she got while mingling with industry figures. it made her feel important. somewhere she had lost the other members of harmonix amongst the flashing cameras and mass of bodies. she didn't mind. she could find them later and was capable of handling the event by herself for a while. "hello ms dixon, do you mind answering a few questions?" a reporter asked her, notepad in hand like it was the pre-internet days. "i'd love to!" sapphire answered simply, flashing the journalist a grin. she was one of the few minor celebrities who genuinely loved being interviewed. interviews became dull when sapphire was repeatedly asked the same questions and she hated interviews that were too formal or felt like she was being interrogated. but she always did her best to add a conversational feel to interviews. she tried to get interviewers to lower their guard around her.
what's your biggest motivator ?
"that's an amazing question." she commented before briefing pausing to think. she had been coached on how to respond to interviews. she had written her responses to common questions out in pink glitter gel pen. but this wasn't a question she had ever thought about before. sapphire never stopped to ponder the reasoning behind her actions. she simply did things that felt right. "can i say my love of music or is that too corny? i don't care if that's too corny i'm going to say it!" she announced with a grin, clapping her hands. "music has always had an important factor in my life. it's how i've connected to people and it's always been how i've expressed myself. i think music plays a pivotal role in people's lives. i guess my biggest motivator is that i want to play an important part of people's lives. i want to provide the soundtrack to people's first loves and their first heartbreaks."
how did your family react to you being in the competition ?
sapphire's eyes lit up at the mention of family. she had received contradicting advice on how to handle having a well-known father. some pr representatives told her to rarely mention him ,to lessen the risk of the public calling her a nepo baby, while others told her to lean into her nepo baby status to seem self-aware. sapphire didn't attempt to follow either strategy. she regularly mentioned her parents simply because she liked talking about them. they were important figures in her life. their love and guidance moulded her into the person she was. "my parents reactions made my reaction to finding out harmonix had been invited to join the competition seem low-key and i literally screamed and accidentally threw my laptop when i read the email." she remarked with a giggle, gesturing for emphasis. "my dad is going to so embarrassed i told you this but he cried when i told him the news." sapphire's lips curved into a fond smile as she spoke. she was exaggerating for the sake of a good story. she knew her dad wouldn't mind that she mentioned his teary response to her success. since retiring anthony dixon had made being a family man a central part of his public image. he had even appeared in some of sapphire's tiktoks. "my mom was just as bad. she hugged me then immediately told everyone she knew. she announced it on her website and linkedin." sapphire shared with a chuckle. her mom didn't have the same prestige or fame as her dad but sapphire made sure to mention her whenever she could. "my parents are majorly supportive and proud of me. but they also made sure i know the importance of hard work and acknowledge i was born with privileges other people weren't." she added. sapphire wasn't completely oblivious to the fact pr was a game ,with its own set of rules, she needed to play. she was aware of the importance of impression management.
other than a record deal, what do you wish to get out of this competition ?
"oh my god, stop asking me questions with corny answers. this feels like a set up!" sapphire answered instinctively without thinking about how her words could be misinterpreted. if sapphire was lucky the interviewer would be professional enough to add [laughs] after quoting her. or the general public would be intelligent enough and familiar enough with sapphire to be aware of the affable way she conducts herself in interviews. there wasn't any malice behind her words. she said them with a grin. she knew that it wasn't the interviewer's fault she was being corny. the sincerity and sacrinness came from her. " this is going to sound cheesy but the main thing i want out of the competition is the chance to deepen my bond with the girls." she didn't care that she sounded cheesy. it was the truth. at the back of her brain she knew the group probably wasn't going to last long. egos and ambitions usually got in the way of bands. but she wanted to be a strong unit with the girls. at least for a little while. "we're already close but i think the competition is going to bring us even closer. we're going to support each other no matter what the competition throws at us." she added quickly with her signature grin. she wasn't completely oblivious. she knew the media liked the pit women against each other. she wasn't going to give the journalist the opportunity to claim there was tension between harmonix. "the competition is also going to be an amazing chance to meet talented producers and executives. it's impossible to make it in the industry without doing a bit of networking." sapphire answered with a smile.
"that's all the questions we have for you today. thanks for your time, sapphire." the journalist said, closing her notepad. sapphire loved that the interview was for a magazine and was going to be transcribed by hand. it made her feel like the old school singers she idolised. "no problem, thank you for your time. i was being serious when i said your questions were amazing. i loved them! they were a lot of fun to answer." she complimented, sincerity dripping off her tongue. she reached over to give the interviewer a quick hug. "enjoy the rest of your night!" she explained as a final farewell. waving, as she wandered into the crowd to mingle.

🎤🔥 rish shah. cis man. he/him. | breaking : SIDDHARTH ‘SID’ JOSHI spotted at the foundry. the TWENTY - FIVE year old has been making moves at gravity records as a MEMBER OF MOSAIC ( VOCALIST ) - known for standing at the back of clubs arms folded because he disapproves of the music , it’s clear they’re not here to play. with a reputation for being RESOLUTE and PRETENTIOUS, they’ve already made quite the impression, but will it be enough ? let’s see if they’ve got what it takes to stay on top.
BASICS.
full name: siddharth joshi
nicknames: sid
gender: cis man (he/him)
sexuality: bisexual
dob: 27th of june
zodiac sign: cancer
age: 25
place of birth: surrey, british columbia
current residency: atlanta, georgia
occupation: musician
APPEARANCE.
faceclaim: rish shah
height: 5ft11
build: lean but there is a slight slenderness to him and how he holds himself
hair: short and naturally black but right now it's bleached blue
eyes: dark brown
style: sid hates formal wear but he also hates casual clothes like t-shirts and sweatpants. his sense of style isn't extremely adventurous but he does slightly see the importance of looking good and distinguishing yourself from other people. his go to look is a white tank top under a shirt with some kind of pattern on it and high waisted pants. he also wears a lot of rings.
distinguishing features: thick prominent eyebrows that often reveal exactly what he's thinking
PERSONALITY.
positive traits: inventive, diligent dependable and observant
negative traits: condescending, judgemental reclusive and headstrong
personality markers: istp, choleric, type 5-the Investigator and true neutral
counterparts: jane lane (daria), craig manning (degrassi) and maeve wiley (sex education)
FACTS.
sid had a dull and uneventful childhood. he was raised in bc by two parents who were desperate to give their children the best lives possible. most of his childhood memories are things like hiding under tables at weddings, playing a ds when he was tired of socialising or his baby sister throwing his alarm clock down the toilet. nothing hugely devastating or life altering happened to him. so it's not something he likes to talk about in interviews. though, the mosaic boys joke that he doesn't like to talk about anything in interviews besides from their music.
sid is the middle of three children. he would never admit it but he does have a slight case of middle child syndrome. he was naturally artistic but really leaned into creative hobbies to distinguish himself from his older brother. he started off with an interest in writing then developed an interest in music as he grew older. his younger sister ended up being the academic of the family and received more of their parents praise and approval than sid did.
as sid got older music stopped being a fun hobby and started being something he seriously wanted to pursue a career in. he put more attention into improving his singing, writing and keyboard playing skills than studying. he thrived as one of the weird reclusive artsy kids in high school.
after graduating with a bachelors in music from western sid immediately started looking for jobs in the states. he could survive off cancon residuals and by being a juno darling but that would be unsatisfying. he wanted to reach a larger audience and change more lives.
sid moved to atlanta after being hired as a bar's resident musician. he was forced to do a bunch of covers while immersing himself in the local music scene. he's had various other jobs after leaving that particular position. he was also an opening act three times while he was still a solo artist. he considers meeting the other members of mosaic and agreeing to join forces with them an exciting new chapter in his career.

🎤🔥 laura kariuki. cis woman. she/her. | breaking : SAPPHIRE DIXON spotted at a nail salon. the TWENTY - FOUR year old has been making moves at gravity records as a MEMBER OF HARMONIX ( BACKING VOCALIST ) - known for bringing various jeweled flasks that always match her dresses to award shows, it’s clear they’re not here to play. with a reputation for being ARDENT and SELF-ABSORBED, they’ve already made quite the impression, but will it be enough ? let’s see if they’ve got what it takes to stay on top.

FACTS.
growing up sapphire's dad repeatedly told her she was his lucky charm. she must have been because he won the superbowl three months after she was born. anthony "dixie" dixon was right sapphire, in a lot of ways sapphire was born lucky. she had two loving and (newly) wealthy parents. most people only have parents who are one or the other.
due to her dad’s job sapphire had three major cross country moves growing up. these drastic moves helped shape her into someone who’s adaptable and gets restless living in the same place for too long. the moves were difficult for short periods of time. she missed the friendship groups she formed but sapphire was the type of kid who found it easy to form friendships. maybe it was because of her famous father but sapphire likes to believe she always possessed a sparkling personality.
no matter where she moved music was always a constant in sapphire’s life. she developed a passion for music and performing from a young age. she loved the attention she received on stage but also how people would congratulate her after talent show or theater group performances. the attention didn't hurt but it wasn't the only reason for sapphire's love of performing. she also had an interest in making songs that entertained people or brought them to tears.
sapphire looks back fondly in her adolescence. she was popular in high school thanks to a combination of her extroverted personality and love of gossip. she was on the cheerleading team.
after graduating high school sapphire decided not to go to college. she had no interest in higher education and wanted to get straight to work. she published a mixtape online that she emailed to various agents, executives and venue promoters. she also did various small gigs but she career didn't really take off. while she was struggling to get her music career off the ground her parents suggested she get a "real job" as a way to make her own income. she got a job at a bridal boutique that she enjoyed but didn't want to be doing permanently.
meeting the harmonix girls was a blessing. sapphire would prefer to be solo however she enjoys having two people to bounce ideas off of and support her while going through the struggles of trying to be successful in the music industry
