Colonel Autumn Headcanons

Autumn holds a hatred for anyone wearing a Vault suit or from a Vault because it reminds him of when the Chosen One destroyed the Oil Rig.

Autumn shares his first name, Augustus, with his father, so technically he is Augustus Autumn Jr.. However, he uses his rank as Colonel to justify dropping the honorific. Staff are too afraid to call him "Junior" because they fear how angry he could get.

Autumn Sr. pushed his son into becoming a soldier as a way of living vicariously through him, since he lacked the constitution to be anything other than a scientist himself. This is the reason they have the same first name.

Whenever President Eden is cross with Autumn, he talks down to him like a child, and calls him "Augustus". Autumn hates it.

Autumn was the one who let Anna Holt join the Enclave.

The reason he hates the Lone Wanderer especially is because James was ex-Enclave, and they're the physical embodiment of the choice he made to leave the Enclave, and start a family.

He's also insecure that Eden might use the Lone Wanderer to usurp him.

Autumn's favorite drink is scotch, which you can find in his room.

The Colonel oversees the Enclave's botanics department, and is the one who put the daffodils on Eden's console.

Autumn disagreed with Richardson's plan to use FEV Curling-13, but didn't have the rank or authority to do anything about it. So when Eden brought up the Modified FEV, he was quick to shut it down.

He has a teddy bear named General Stuffington.

His accent is fake, and he learned it from listening to a Pre-War western series. It helps him cope with everything by imagining himself as a heroic cowboy. Pistol, longcoat, and all.

If the LW spares him, he somehow evades being caught by the BoS, moves away, and eventually becomes the Black Devil from the Fo4 Creation Club content.

What I find interesting about Colonel Autumn is that he's a parallel to the Lone Wanderer in the ways that matter.

Autumn was around 19-20 when most of the people around the Oil Rig died. The Lone Wanderer was 19 when James left the vault, leaving the Overseer to go mad and have security kill a number of Vault dwellers. Either way, both lost everything on those fateful days of their lives.

Both of them have deceased scientist fathers.

When you invert blue, you're left with orange, and in some cases, beige. LW wears a blue jumpsuit, and Autumn wears a beige longcoat.

Both are the de-facto driving forces behind their respective sides. While Owyn and Sarah do stuff with the BoS, more often than not, the LW is the one doing things like getting the G.E.C.K., destroying the mobile Enclave crawler, etc. Despite Eden being President and outranking Autumn, the Colonel is still de-facto leader of the Enclave, and has more control over it than one may initially think. Furthermore, you cross his path at various times in the story because he's actively looking for you. From Project Purity, Vault 87, Raven Rock, and Project Purity again. He is very much active in going against you.

Both of them are President Eden's only (living) confidants that know his secret.

Both get hit by the radiation spike in Project Purity and survive. (LW in Broken Steel)
