that sntiproshipconfession account and friends that were harassing you - the owner of the confession blog admitted that they are FOURTEEN

they post a lot about sex, kink, pedophilia, lolisho and porn etc, all stuff that is not appropriate for a teenager. They also kept defending their moot who posted that weird stuff about “child titties”

I think they’re being a danger to themselves and other minors

so there was a huge harassment case in the mouthwashing fandom, an artist on Twitter drew a picture of Anya (I think?) and it wasn’t… well received

however, the creator of the game spoke up and said that if someone harasses someone over art, then they have no place in the fandom. Harassment of any kind is wrong

As an avid shipper, fandom isn't just about shipping. Yeah, it makes up a large portion of it cuz most people like to ship things, but it's not just shipping and I don't really like the mindset of "if you don't like shipping at all then fandoms aren't for you"

There are and should be more places for people who don't like ships to be able to talk about the source material. Hell, those places exist even for people who do like shipping but just don't want to talk about their ships 24/7. The actually media is fun to talk about too, y'know lmao

I picked 6, I never actually believed in the anti mindset but I lurked in anti groups and was just more of a private yes man so I could avoid harassment and be seen as an anti based on who I associated with at the time.

Obviously people can't change their votes now and I am not in their heads so I can't make them choose any differently even by saying this, but I don't exactly see "pretending to be an anti" as inherently being the same as being an ex-anti

How would i even go about creating a community by myself? i’ve heard people suggest that, but… i really don’t understand what that even means. i’m horribly autistic so i’m already not that great at conversation, i don’t want to discuss the main thing other people cling to in fandoms at all, i’m not exactly good at the things that draw people in like art or writing if i’m honest, and i’m not really sure what conclusion to draw except “the world isn’t made to accommodate me and i am so definitionally incompatible with everyone else that i cannot even feel seen or included among the queerest, most autistic fandom spaces known for being the Place Where They Accept Weird People.” maybe there is someone out there like me, who enjoys the same things as me, who i can get along with at least somewhat, but what if there isn’t? what am i supposed to do if the people/community i’m looking for genuinely just doesn’t exist?

I honestly have no idea. I myself haven't been put into a situation where I have needed to make my own community in a fandom/find a, existing, niche part of a fandom that I am in so I don't exactly have any advice to give, sorry. If other people have advice then they can leave it

Everytime I see antis go "predators will use 'proship' content to groom minors", it makes me want to scream.

The majority of groomers actually DON'T use minor x adult fictional content. How do I know this? BECAUSE I WAS GROOMED. SERVERAL TIMES. Groomers want their victim to feel special and in the majority of cases, they try to cover their tracks. Aka, they don't use minor x adult content because then they can't go "well I didn't know that [victim] was a minor".

Groomers try to bank on the hope that their victim feels isolated enough that they won't tell anyone. And they tell them things like "you're so grown up, you're so mature, etc." So it would be antithetical to then send fiction that proves that they think the opposite way.

Plus it's a genuinely bad argument in my opinion. We don't ban violent video games despite multiple mass shooters claiming that video games were their inspiration. We recognize that the blame isn't on the video game in that case. So why are people advocating for the blame and censorship of the content in this case?

I understand that it's difficult. I don't like the idea of kids getting hurt by creeps on the internet. But banning and censoring fiction won't help that. You want to believe it will because then maybe, you're helping people. But you're not. You're just screaming at them and accusing them of deplorable things, throwing around important words and degrading their meaning.

Banning fiction and getting outraged over pixels does nothing for the real people in reality.

i really don’t understand how exactly i’m supposed to block things i don’t like when it’s everyone posting the things i don’t like. i’m not sure about anyone else, but i’m in fandom spaces for the community of it. having other people to discuss the things i like with, preferably without bringing up who you personally want to see make out with whom (i’m sex and romance-repulsed, i don’t want to see or talk about any ships, ever, which isn’t something most people fall into). if i block everyone, what’s even the point of me being here? is fandom really just. inherently not made to welcome me? i guess i could tolerate THAT aunt my whole life, but fuck, i really don’t even get any escapism either do i
