anyway speaking of vievecorcity admin z out here asking for diversity when they have four characters and three of them are white af. same goes to their core group of the c's too where they only have one poc. also all their nonbinary characters are supernatural (never human) which is... questionable in itself considering there's an issue with that on people seeing enby's as "non-human" already 😬
Tumblr media
So they just threw their diversity rule out the window? Why am I not surprised? I'm truly exhausted by the continued lack of diversity in so many groups. Honestly, I'm also not quite sure what to make of their non-binary characters being supernatural. As a non-binary person, I wouldn't mind portraying a vampire or another supernatural creature in movies and other media. However, is it weird that every non-binary muse is supernatural/non-human? Yes. I can only speak from my own experience as a non-binary person, so I can't say whether other non-binary individuals would agree.

gotta say that an rp is super sus after an admin leaves in the middle of nowhere and the other admins are giving the members a really bullshit reason for why
Tumblr media
Absolutely. Life can definitely get in the way at times, but from what I've seen, disagreements or arguments between admins tend to be the more common cause. It's just like when people who join every group together suddenly stop doing that and go their separate ways.

what do you think is a good activity standard these days for a tumblr rpg? the balance between lax and keeping the dash moving...
Tumblr media
It really depends on the size of the group you're planning to run. You need to consider whether it's a smaller or larger group. Another important aspect to consider is the average length of threads. If they're between 200 to 300 words, you can post activity checks more frequently. After every six days of inactivity. If the word count reaches 500 or more words, keep it more relaxed. In smaller groups, people bond faster and everyone is more familiar with each other's schedule. This is why you don't have to be super strict. To sum it up, don't just have activity checks, for example, every Sunday because other groups are doing it. Instead, adjust it to best fit the specific needs of your group.

let’s not forget the blatant favoritism z plays in vievecorcityrp, especially with their c3 squad. if ur a favorite u can get away with anything like bubbling and being inactive for more than the 2 week rule without getting unfollowed. cain is chronically inactive, constantly drops characters without warning and then immediately brings in a new one despite the fact they clearly don’t care or can’t keep up. oh and then there’s the fact claire and z do their threads on discord to “save time” or move threads faster when claire can’t get on the dash or she’s on hiatus despite this being a tumblr rp.
Tumblr media
I believe it's perfectly acceptable to drop a character if you're not feeling inspired or to take a longer break if life gets busy. But if other members aren't getting the same privilege, then it is an issue.

findrps letting groups with obvious AI images for their promos post on their server.... gross
Tumblr media
Have you tried contacting the moderators of FINDRPS? A similar issue happened with Fyrethrone, and if you scroll down and check one of my previously answered asks, you'll notice that they urged members to contact them directly about any problems. Give them time to respond. If for some reason they don't respond we can openly discuss the use of AI images.

So you agree that you being entirely anonymous when you’re clearly part of the rpc is also harmful. You’re also hiding who you are by not giving the name you use usually or by not saying which groups you’re part of or have been part of. You’re also hiding who you are with this blog. If it’s harmful for groups and they do it because someone has been harmful, what’s the difference when it comes to you? If you can name one good reason I’ll give you 10 bucks.
Tumblr media
Do you know the difference between discussion blogs and roleplaying groups? When you're an admin, you take on the responsibility of providing a safe and welcoming environment for all. People invest their time and talent when they write applications, create characters, set up blogs, and make personalized Discord muse channels and gifs. Imagine going through all of that and ending up in a toxic environment. That's not what I'm offering here. I'm not offering you a place where you will directly interact with potentially problematic people. I'm only encouraging open dialogue. Shiv is just my mascot, but I always use the same pronouns, live on the East Coast, and don't hide the fact I'm a POC. Finally, you didn't provide one good reason; instead, you shifted the focus of the conversation to me. Did it hit a nerve, anon?

when poc only rp servers drop in the tags they either get hated on for everything or no one joins
Tumblr media
Please don't be discouraged from creating POC only groups. Even if it starts off as a small group, don't panic. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals in a group setting should bring good results in the long run.

a small psa to avoid @ ascensionteasers. jade/ines is always looking for co-admins but then ghosts you when she gets bored. check her personal blog and see that she does this every time. she made about 10 groups and ghosted them all. i was excited to help her once but she was pretty defensive and snappy
Tumblr media
Well, that's weird ...

not the fyrethrone admins being like: we're sorry your ass was offended, we won't be addressing any real concerns about a lack of representation, we won't be changing ANYTHING other than the female ban, we won't give you an ooc list because we can't expose our problematic friends, we will still be passive-aggressive and we're so sorry we got caught
Every admin makes mistakes. We're human, we can't escape it. No group will ever be perfect. But their unwillingness to acknowledge their actions, behavior, and lack of transparency speaks volumes about their character.

Desperately begging for a group with family drama/older muses. i'm tired of everyone's muses either being all cutesy in a small town or in college! where are the groups with actual stakes
Tumblr media
Yes! Maybe one of you in the tags will be inspired by this ask and come up with something great. Besides I'd love to see older characters in more groups.

personally think it's so funny when inactive people get mad that they're on ac a lot, then leave and try to open their own rp in the same genre. like baby ?? you couldn't write 2 characters how do you think you can handle 4 and a main ???
Tumblr media
We're all busy people and as long as you're honest with admins I believe there's no need for you to be concerned about activity checks. But making your own bootleg copies of roleplays that you leave doesn't sit right with me, mainly when they're replicating original concepts.

at this point, anyone trying to defend fyrethrone admins is condoning their actions. the other admin, looking @ you with the all white cast, plays favorites and was extremely rude when i asked a basic question. don't you get tired of playing the same bland characters all the time?
Tumblr media
Yikes. But yes if you're defending their actions, you're also deliberately ignoring the underlying issue.

So glad to see someone agree that hissing ooc information and identities in the rpc is harmful and lack transparency. And it’s always done because one or more people hidden have done harmful things in the past.
Tumblr media
Never, under no circumstances, join groups/servers that don't have accessible OOC pages. The admins do it to either hide their actions or their problematic members. Avoid them and you'll be spared unnecessary drama and toxicity.

i did some snooping, fine blame me, but the fyrethrone admins accepted a female muse while the ban was still going? i can't find that person's acceptance post (¿) but that tells you that the same rules don't apply for everyone. how can you trust admins who make exceptions for their friends?
Tumblr media
I have a pile of complaints against Fyrethrone in my inbox but this simply isn't fair to any potential applicants and members. Even if you're roleplaying with your friends, you must treat everyone equally, including new people.

honestly, i am sad that poc only servers do not get alot of love in the rpc. watching the recent discussion about the lack of diversity it's great, but when poc only servers try to launch no one is rushing towards. it's so hypocritical to me to see these complaints but when spaces created to foster diversity are completely ignored.
Tumblr media
I know what you mean. People talk about it so much but do nothing to change their groups, rules, and behavior. However, my advice is to avoid Discord. Discord groups usually don't last longer than a month. Try creating a Tumblr-based, simple skeleton group with basic pre-established connections. They tend to gain traction and have a chance of lasting longer.

u know what really frustrates me ... when a rp uses poc (especially black people) in their promos and you go and visit their blog and there is literally like 3/70 characters who are black
Tumblr media
You're not alone in this because I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's incredibly disappointing that they're resorting to the same strategy colleges use to appear more diverse, even though it's not always the admin's fault. Then again, if they're using Black people in their promos but only have White characters, they are the problem.
