One thing I did like about Crimes of Grindelwald was Jude Law’s expression while Dumbledore was looking into the mirror of Erised. I had expected it to be sad, maybe disgusted, angry, confused. Instead there was this profound sadness and pain, but the hint of a smile & to me it just really seemed as if he was fully aware of this weakness of his (the former love for Grindelwald, even the remnants of it that he continued to feel to this day) and was able to forgive himself for it. So, so nuanced and bittersweet.

In school, we learned about the world before ours, about the angels and gods that lived in the sky, ruling the earth with kind and loving hands. Some say those are just stories, but I don’t believe that.

“A Patronus is a kind of positive force and for the wizard who can conjure one, it works something like a shield, with the Dementor feeding on it, rather than him. In order for it to work, you need to think of a memory. Not just any memory. A very happy memory, a very powerful memory. Allow it to fill you up…lose yourself in it. Then speak the incantation. Expecto Patronum.”
